Ours was at Newark Liberty International Airport. It's mandatory to arrive on time, so we parked at Terminal B short-term parking to make things easier. The Global Entry Enrollment Center is located in Terminal B on the ground floor, behind the domestic baggage carousel. If you get a little turned around as we did, just stop by the welcome help kiosk, and someone will gladly point you in the right direction. Be sure to bring your current passport and your driver's license (or a bill showing your current address). After checking in, you'll be seated until an officer comes out and calls the time of your scheduled appointment. Once inside, they'll fingerprint you (via digital scan), review your application, and ask a few routine questions. The process is straightforward and painless. It is essentially a background and integrity check to confirm you're a low-risk traveler before granting the five-year membership. My interview was brief and professionally handled. Everything ran like clockwork and was completely hassle-free. I was in and out within five minutes. Miserable service. We had a 6pm appointment that was planned perfectly before our 8pm connecting flight. The flight got delayed, but we still got there by 6:03pm. We waited for 15 minutes and finally got an older man's attention. He claimed that no one was outside when they checked at 6pm, and that they had break from 6:10 - 6:40. Although we were a couple minutes late, there was another man that got there before 6pm who confirmed they never checked. Clearly a lie, but fine. I get his attention again to politely ask how long the interview takes, as we just wanted to make sure we wouldn't miss our flight if we patiently waited until the end of his break. He told us that he will not be taking us unless someone happens to not show up at 6:40. Another woman, who had a 6:40 slot, was standing there and said she has plenty of time and is happy to let us take her appointment. But the man stepped in and said "No, do not give your slots to anyone else" despite there being an opening for her at 6:50. Just extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

Fast! At Newark airport, Term B, Short term parking, walked into 1st floor baggage claim, Global located on right, against back wall. Easy to locate. Waited 5 minutes to get called in: phone OFF, passport & drivers license in hand. Barely 2 minutes at secure counter to identify myself, answer basic questions & fingerprints. I drove to EWR for my interview. If you do the same, park in Lot B and enter the airport. Once inside, keep walking and look for the sign that says Global Entry Enrollment Center. The center (really just a small room) was very easy to find thanks to the signs. I arrived about 20 minutes early and waited in the seating area outside the center. It was a late-night appointment, and only a few people were waiting. After about five minutes, the officer came out and called everyone in, even before our scheduled appointment times. The interview itself took about five minutes. I was able to leave quickly and save on parking fees. By the time I got home, my application had already been approved and I had received my KTN via email. The actual card arrived about a week later. Overall, the whole process was incredibly smooth. I applied online on a Friday, had the interview the following Tuesday, and received my number the same day. So just a five day turnaround. The group with appointments before me went in first after they confirmed their phone was off. It felt within a minute each person came out. So I knew this would be quick. LOCATION: Enrollment Center is next to baggage claim 1 in Terminal B, level 1 (ground floor). Accessible by airtrain if you're arriving at a different terminal (e.g A or C), just take the escalators/elevators down to the ground fooor. PRINT OUT YOUR PROOF OF ADDRESS. The officer was kind enough to let me pull up my signed lease agreement on my laptop (no phones allowed in the enrollment center) but I could've easily been turned away for not having my materials as hard copies. Interview was quick, took less than 5 minutes. Got my photo taken, received a one page brochure about my approval, and was on my way. There's no need to check-in when you get to the waiting area. An officer will come out periodically to bring in those with appointments (I had a 9:45am appt and was called in at 10am) as well as walk-ins. read more

We only paired $4 for short term parking because it was so quick. You want to park in short term parking for terminal b. The office is behind baggage claim 1. I came here for the last step of the Global Entry process. I showed up for my scheduled timeslot with my husband, who had a later appointment date but was hoping he could be included as a walk-in. There were three others who was waiting for the same appointment timeslot. The first impression of this center could be a off-putting, as there were multiple signs basically telling you to STAY AWAY from the office and sit in a reserved area until an officer comes out to receive you. They probably need to do this for crowd control. An officer came out to greet us about 5-7 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. We were asked to turn our phones off (not silent or vibrate - OFF), have our documents ready, and then we were allowed in. The officer who completed my application spoke quickly and had a very sarcastic sense of humor, but just rolling with it and keeping the questions to a minimum, my husband and I were both done in about 10 minutes. And yes, he gave us a mildly difficult time when we asked if it's possible at all for my hubby to be seen as a walk-in, but at the end my husband walked out with his KTN ready to go and not needing to wait another month for an appointment. Based on what we had read on flyertalk about Newark's office being one of the most curt/unfriendly offices, this was a nice exception that we did not fully expect, but appreciated. Overall, some tips to make this a seamless process: - Be on time. Office is located bottom floor (International Arrivals - to the right of the main exit doors where arrivals come out), same level as baggage claim in Terminal B - Have your passport(s), driver's license/proof of residence, and conditional approval letter ready. - The conditional approval letter must be a HARD COPY, NOT a digital one. They WILL give you a hard time if you don't have a hard copy. - Bring your parking ticket with you, there is a machine (yellow) by the terminal exit where you can pre-pay your ticket. I'm happy that the approval process is immediate, as I'm flying out this coming week and will try to use pre-check for the first time. If I encounter any snags, I'll update this review. Called in advance to confirm the proper documentation for a name change update. Came in with all documents except for DL since the DMW has been delayed due to covid. Keep in mind that I called to confirm and the officer I spoke to said DL was an extra form of identification but since I had my passport, it would okay. I had everything from passport, SS card, proof of name change, global card but then was RUDELY and OBNOXIOUSLY told to come back after waiting for over 30 mins. Just had my global entry interview yesterday afternoon. It went on-time and the CBP staff were very friendly and professional. I need to give them good credit based on my experience( and my coworker's too! She got her approved even faster for the lucky to find an online open time slot immediately). They politely ask me questions such as where I travelled internationally and explained to me how global entry works. Tips: -Make sure you get conditional approval first and schedule the appointment. For now they don't accept any walk-in. I saw several people trying their luck to walk in but got denied. -Bring in all the required documents, including the appointment confirmation( some CBP officers may not ask to see this, but the one interviewing me did). For any change of address not reflected in your driver license, bring an alternative proof ( Ex: I brought NJ DMV's confirmation letter). - If you drive to airport for interview, parking in terminal B short term parking lot is a better option. You simply walk across the roads and the global entry office is right there in terminal B. They put clear signs to guide applicants so you can't miss it! The whole process for me ran around 30 minutes so I paid $8 for short term parking, which is better than taking a round trip NJ transit train (about $24) to the airport. read more

This review is regarding an agent at EWR for Global services interview. Normally I have always had a good experience at EWR in the past, however this particular agent for interview for my infant son was extremely disrespectful. Last name Kissonoff (excuse me for the incorrect spelling) he does not know how to talk to women first of all, and refuses to explain simple procedures or rights. I had all documents required for the interview but he insists on asking for email. I am a parent of the son and had birth certificate to prove all of necessary information but he did not want to listen and kept telling me do you want me to reject you? Do you want me to reject you? Excsue me sir, you are not above the law, neither am I. I was not explained on what grounds he was telling he would reject global entry for an infant who is US citizen and so are his parents! I dont like officers who think they can get away being rude to people just because they have some underlying anger issues. Please retrain this officer as he clearly needs a psychiatric evaluation. read more

I wanted to ask if they take walk ins but he silenced me immediately and when I finally asked the question, he said no and just turned away without making eye contact. Great experience. After submitting applications, my husband and I were able to schedule adjacent appointments on a Saturday morning. This center offers a LOT of timeslots and though they do fill up, they open a month or so at a time, so you can get your pick if you keep checking every day. My interview took just a few minutes. The officer asked a couple questions, explained the program, took fingerprints and a photo for my ID card. I've since gotten pre-check on my last 4 flights and am looking forward to using my Global Entry card to breeze through customs in a couple weeks. Wahoo! read more

Like most government agencies most of us may have encountered - rude, inefficient, lack of transparency and communication to the people they SERVE, compounded with the fact that you are in one of the gruffest metropolitan area in the country, you get the the idea. Perhaps if you are lucky, you catch one of their temporal blissful moment and treated like normal human beings would treat each other, aka courtesy, but for the rest of us, swallow your pride, bow to the "emperors", get it done and hope to never return (for 5 years). read more

Went here to update my name from marriage on my global entry account. I did not have an appointment. I waited for an officer to come out when they were calling people in for their appointments, I told them I was there to change my name and they asked for my passport and global entry card. I waited outside the office and after a half hour the officer returned. They updated my information and handed me back my card and passport and explained I could order a card with my new name on it through the website. read more

I sat down for about 5-10 minutes when a CPB officer came out to ask who had appointments. After confirming my name, he called out names and took us inside the office. I was immediately standing at one station for my "interview". She took my picture and fingerprints questioned me about my maiden name. After that I received a "Welcome to Global Entry". Global entry yesterday, at Newark Airport, was wonderful! When the computer indicated it didn't recognize my information, I was then sent by an Immigration agent to the Global Entry office downstairs, in Terminal B. I was treated beautifully. The agent with whom I spoke was Asaad and he figured out the problem in minutes. It turned out I had a new passport since my older one had expired. He then worked with another agent and together, in a very few minutes, had updated all my information. I could not have asked for an easier, more thoughtful and more knowledgeable experience than what I encountered yesterday, at Newark Airport, in Terminal B. read more

Then one officer came out and informed everyone that the system is down and he is not sure how long it may take to bring it back up. My Husband did his Global Entry at JFK months ago and through his experience (friendly agents, took appointments before their scheduled time, and expedited service) we expected the same would hold true for Newark, when my two children and I went for our Global Entry appointmenst. First and foremost, it looked like there were no agents inside the center whatsoever. We arrived in the morning, 15 minutes before our first appointment (we had a 9:15, 9:30 and 10:15). At 9:40am, finally a very terse male agent came out and started to gather individuals with a 9:15 appointment. Thinking that my children would be able to both get checked at the same time as me, we all approached the agent. He told us that only the 9:15 and 9:30 appointments could go and that my 3 year old son (with the 10:15 appointment had to wait outside). Thankfully my husband accompanied us on this trip to the airport so he waited outside with my son. My daughter and I finished our appointments quickly, which is why i'm giving this center 2 stars instead of one. So back out to the waiting area we went for another 45 minutes. At 10:35, the terse male agent came out again to ask for people with 10:15 appointments. We finally got in with my son, took about 2 minutes and we were done. Lessons from this experience are as follows: 1. This Global Entry Enrollment center is inefficient with the way they conduct business. I have no idea why they can not be on time for people who arrive for their scheduled appointments. Why do you call for blocks of groups to go in 20-25 minutes after their scheduled appointments. Then once those people are done in a few minutes, you wait another 45 minutes before calling the next group. 2. During our hour and a half experience here, we noted that they only come out a few times to call groups of people in. Rather than having a consistent flow to process people who may have even arrived early. 3. If you want efficient Global Entry processing, go to JFK - they will take you before your appointment and get you in an out in no time. 4. If you have families coming in with children under the age of 5, why can't you just process them all at the same time. It literally takes 2 minutes per small child. But thank you for making me wait an additional 45 minutes before you could see the smallest member of our family. 5. This is a paid service that we are requesting to have. Please be timely and adhere to a schedule, when you see agents filing their nails and talking on the phones while there are no individuals being interviewed for 45 minutes you clearly have a time management issue on your hands.
