This whole experience has been extremely frustrating. I have been sent back and forth between calling and going into the office in person, as if I do not have responsibilities at home and a special-needs child to care for. I should not have to keep making unnecessary trips and repeated phone calls just to get a clear answer about my child's benefits. When I call, the employees often seem confused and I keep getting different answers, but at least most of them are polite and try to help. My biggest issue was with the last employee who assisted me in person. I was simply trying to explain why I was there and what had already happened with my child's case, and instead of listening, she accused me of giving her an attitude. I was not there to argue with anyone. I was trying to explain the situation so she could understand why I had been sent to the office in the first place. It is extremely frustrating to already be getting the runaround and then be treated like you are the problem for trying to explain yourself. I understand these offices are busy, but that does not excuse being rude or dismissive to people who are simply asking for help. Families should not be made to feel like they are asking for a personal favor. We deserve clear information, consistency, professionalism, and basic respect. The communication between employees seriously needs improvement, and the in-person customer service needs to be handled with much more patience and compassion. read more

This place is absolutely awful. They gave me wrong information when I called. Had to go back and forth 3 times and had me waiting from 9:30am-3:30pm. 10/10 don't recommend. The two security guards are rude and dismissive. read more

Mother visited with my father, a Ms Jimenez was very dismissive and rude to them, all they wanted to ask about were some forms and was ignored and berated for having a lot of mistakes on her paperwork and acclaimed missing payments even to cutting her off when she tried to answer back, mom was almost discouraged to go back, very unprofessional read more

Surprisingly a pleasant experience for a government office like this. Been here 5 years ago and can say a lot of improvements have been made. The waiting area is more spacious and way cleaner. It took me less than 30 minutes to complete whatever I needed to accomplish that day. read more

If you could go early your turn comes soon. Making appointments has helped the waiting time .The room is more comfortable than before. The staff is courteous and professional. read more

Hard to believe that I have something amazing to say about a government office, but this location was wonderful. I made an online appointment & completed mobile check in. After scanning the bar code, I was called within minutes of sitting down although there were about 20 people waiting. Since appointments are no longer required, it appeared as though not many of them had scheduled their time online. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. I can't stress enough-MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE TO SAVE YOURSELF TIME & FRUSTRATION. My experience was extremely pleasant & if I had to do it again, I would go to back to this location. read more

Mr. Weisberg was so rude and unkind. I tried making appointment online-I was unable to. I called to make an appointment-I was unable to. Kept saying all operators are busy. I went to Clifton office-took the ticket and waited to be called. I asked the security guard while I was waiting how I can make an appointment since I have no luck online or over the phone. The nice security guard said take the ticket and wait to be called at the window and they will make you an appointment. I was called to window 10 by Mr. Weisberg. He had really bad attitude before I even sat down. I told him I'm dropping off some documents for identification for parents since they received a letter in mail saying they need proof of identity. he was like "I don't understand why you are here. Why didnt you make an appointment? I called you before everyone else!" um I how is it my fault that you called me before everyone else? Did I tell you to? I waited just like everyone else! He was just so so so rude. I don't understand why people work jobs they do not like. read more

This office was very pleasant and helpful. Not to much waiting everting was very organized.

Not horrible. Not what you'd expect. You grab a number like at the deli counter and wait for your number to be called. It's a clean facility and people are patient for the most part. Can't say I can't wait to go back, but if I had to, no big deal. read more

This was easier to deal with than I expected. Not nearly as bad as the DMV. Not open weekends, but most days, you will not usually wait more than an hour or so at most. The service here is super helpful, and will walk you through everything the best they can. I came in to get a replacement card and to remedy an error with what was on file. They explained the situation and gave me the forms I needed to do what I had to do. I am satisified with my experience and this office in particular. Way better than calling in! read more

I talked to Jessica and she answered all my questions very promptly and politely this was around 3:51pm 1/25/2023 she did not hurry me off phone she even listened to my rambling as I am a lonely disabled widow who had many funny sad stories, the main thing was the importance of the work she did for me over the phone so I didn't have to worry about driving there. read more

Fast and efficient! Office opens at 9am, came on the Tuesday following a holiday. Arrived for a simple name change at 9:20, out the door by 9:40! FYI: no drinks are allowed in the waiting area, so I had to trash my brand new $5.00 iced coffee. Other then that easy fast office, with friendly staff. read more

If your parents saved the first booger you produced in your infancy, you might bring it with you to the Social Security office. The identification and public records that have been granted to you throughout life - your license, marriage certificate, social security card - may not suffice to prove you aren't a warlock, or a wood nymph. I had to go back 4 times. Still, it's not terrible. Go after 1:30, and you'll probably have no wait. The staff is helpful and they seem to care that your problems get resolved. I made buddies with the sweet security gal; she'd seen me come and go like this place had free liquor. Actually, this place needs a disco ball and a few cocktails. The old folks could use a drink or twelve while they wait. read more

During Covid-19 I have had two telephone appointments with personnel from this office. They were thorough, patient and knowledgeable. The appointments were scheduled in advance and I received my calls at the exact time that was scheduled. read more

My husband had an 11:10am app't which he'd made 6 weeks ago. We arrived 15 minutes early, checked in at the computer (which asked if we had an app't to which we indicated we did), and were given a computer generated wait number, which is what we continued to do for 1 hr and 40 min. Many people who had come in after us were serviced and left before we were called. We did not question this as a TV screen advises you that this would happen because there are certain representatives specially trained to service particular problems. Upon FINALLY being called, we found out that the computer must have experienced a glitch when we checked in and that in fact our wait should have been no more than 20 min since we had an app't. The rep was very apologetic and helpful. Clearly this was not her fault. Total time at SS office, 2hrs 10 min!!.I am writing this to make people aware that if you have an app't and the wait time goes over1/2 hr, SPEAK UP,regardless of what the TV screen advises. read more
