I came here to get my real ID on a weekday. The service was efficient…read more There is a parking garage right in the area - it costs $4. There are signs that direct you on how to walk to the DMV. Once you get to the entrance, a person will ask you why you are there, and give you a form to fill out (you can't bring guests - only people who have business to be done can enter). You will walk up the stairs to the second floor. There will be signs for you to go to reception. On the way, there are tables and pens for you to fill out the form you received when entering the building. Take your form and 6 points worth of documents, and continue to the reception windows. Reception will check your docs, and then give you a sticker with a number (that's your queue order). Some start with Bs, some start with Ns, and mine started with a Y (I had a pre-registered online appointment). Go to the waiting area, and then wait for them to call your number, and which window to go to. All in all, it took me 20-25 mins (I suggest you make an appointment ahead of time).

Okay, prepare for the wait, because what do you expect, it's Motor Vehicle, if you have an…read moreappointment always show up either two or an hour early, they do have security at the front and it's organized, but just gather all your documents in order before you go, and just wait, they also have the appointment numbers on the TV, so just keep track of your number when they call you, then there shouldn't be a problem, above all, I honestly think that this location is slightly better then the location in Wayne, but that is just my opinion, I also think that something needs to be done about the parking lot, your best bet is to park at the Wendy's or just walk, or just be dropped off by Uber or something..

They are despicable!!! Their number one favorite excuse is the call was made anonymously. When you…read moreask them why does it have to be made anonymously are they afraid of retaliation? Well if I were them I would tell them exactly who called on certain situations of course. In my case, they know exactly who keeps calling on me to the point where an old case worker of mine became close to my family and actually slipped up and told me who had been calling on me and why I had had all this stress in my family due to DCPP. They say they're about bringing families back together, they're so full of shit!! They make you jump through hoops they accuse you of things that you're not doing they degrade you and the worst thing you can do is let them treat you like a child allow them to speak to you as if you were an idiot. This is all a new era, because back in my day DYFS was not around as often. I'm surprised that they made it through to as big as they are now because the way we're raising these children and the way the schools are teaching them to call 911 and the schools getting extensions of the family to call DYFS on other family members it's just disgusting you can't even reprimand your child without getting a DYFS case meanwhile there are actual children out there who need it who at this very moment are getting beaten tortured and you worrying about a mother raising her voice to her children which I believe and I don't care who it is or who you say you are every mother at one point has raised their voice at their child especially I know for a fact they have if they have multiple children that are out of phase of non stop fighting with each other and for that we get DYFS cases what because as in my case a mother in-law and sister-in-law are vindictive do not like me and every time we get into an argument very heated arguments the very next day I have DYFS knocking on man door? Now does that seem fishy or is that just completely fuckin obvious? I had a caseworker who completely understood my situation and accidentally let it slip in front of my children's father that "yes it was his own mother and sister that had in her words quite the history of making calls I mean it's no secret right?" Just because they change the name to DCPP does not mean that they changed anyting they're still DYFS the only reason they changed the name was because they didn't like that people were pronouncing it DYFS instead of Dee;whY;eFeS! Well too bad most of the people working there don't even have kids. What you go to school get yourself a little piece of paper that says you have a degree in all of a sudden you have the right and then know it all and how to raise a child your own child that came from you? I think not and the only getting younger these caseworkers they can't even wipe their asses right let alone tell me how to raise my children! Why don't they worry about the children who really need them and leave everybody else is alone. They also make a lot of promises they can't keep why? Because of one reason, they have a quota to meet just like the police and I'll be damned. I still have legal custody of my children but just not to cause any other problems until they come back home to me permanently me and their dad are not staying in the same house so that they can stay with him until we're all United again which will happen very soon because his mother calling I hope she reads this because I hope she's enjoying this time with my children because once they're gone out of her life they're gone for good end oops sorry for you that means your marriage is over cuz the only reason why that man is still married to you is because you need to have children in the house in order fooldr him to take you out cuz God forbid he should take you out alone he takes you out and you tag along because he's really taking the kids out!!! YOU'RE A PATHETIC 60-something year woman grow up and that goes for DYFS to grow up and go after those who deserve it. Just remember you have 2 children, and although you are ROYALLY FUCKIN your son who happens to be the oldest, the firstborn and your only boy, you also have a younger daughter who now happens to have two new babies and KARMA IS A BITCH PAYBACK IS A MOTHERFUCKER!!! MRS.LEG (LMAO HER INITIALS SPELLS LEG)(MEANING SHE WILL NEVER EVER HAVE A LEG UP ON ME WHEN THIS IS OVER, OOOOH THE SURPRISES IN STORE JUST WAITING PATIENTLY ON HER SANTERIA DEVIL WORSHIPPING VOODOO ASS; TRUE STATEMENT ON MY FAMILY AND CHILDREN Y'ALL, ON THE ALMIGHTY LORD JESUS THIS IS NOTHING BUT TRUTH NO MATTER IF YOU BELIEVE HER, I WILL PRAY FOR YOU Just keep those thoughts in mind... L.E.G. IS THE DEVIL HERSELF AVE LIKE I SAID, PAYBACK IS A FUCKIN BITCH AS CONSIDER ME PAYBACK, KARMA, BITCH, AND A MAMA BEAR DOING ANYTHING TO PROTECT HER CUBS!!!!!!! #BEWAREOFMAMABEAR!!!!!!! DBS

NJ Transit - Paterson Station

NJ Transit - Paterson Station

(2 reviews)

At this point, I've been catching the train to and from Paterson for about a little over year or…read moreso. This station is your usual outdoor station stop on NJ Transit Main and Bergen lines. Nothing fancy. For detail, I recommend reading over Jeffrey D's Yelp review, which is good and provides thorough info. Trains on the Main/Bergen lines go directly to Hoboken. From the Paterson station, if you want to go to New York, you'll need to transfer at the Secaucus station (which is a major hub and has a bunch of amenities - bathroom, Dunkin, I think a bar, etc. There's a flight of stairs to the platform off of Market. The elevator is closer to Ward and by the underpass closer to the post office.

Paterson's one and only train station, served by New Jersey Transit's Main Line trains…read more(Hoboken-Suffern, NY), and rarely Port Jervis Line trains when it does local stops (Hoboken - Port Jervis, NY). A two track station serving the needs of local Patersonians & those in the area needing a local hop to other communities or a quick hop to Hoboken/New York or elsewhere, it's not used too often compared to the other stations in the network (such as those in the NE Corridor or Montclair-Boonton lines), seeing a slight increase in AM travel, before stabilizing for the rest of the day. The next stops are Hawthorne (north, 5 min ride), or Clifton (south, 5-7 minute ride), and depends on where you go, the end destination would be Hoboken (35 minutes, south), or New York Penn Station (45-55 minutes, south/east, after a transfer via Secaucus Junction). Depending on your end destination, prices can range from 2.25$ for a one zone trip (one or two stations like to Clifton/Hawthorne), 6,50$ to Hoboken, or 7,75$ to NYC, but from Labor Day (Sept 2018) until late January 2019, there's a 10% discount for trips due to maintenance & PTC upgrades, but tickets brought during this time must be used before they expire, same goes for MyTix/online passes. Fortunately most of the trains arrive on time, and rarely would you stumble upon overcrowding, unless if it's a weekend and/or reduced service times. The station is located at the edge of downtown Paterson & the entrance to the residential/small business areas (running above grade, historically it ran street level), running parallel to Railroad Ave, and above Market & Park Aves, and a short distance away from local areas such as downtown/Center City Mall (5-10 minutes of a walk), even in "walking distance" of the Great Falls, and close to PCCC & the city/county's offices (also within 5-10 minutes of a walk). There's two bus stations here (one alongside Market St, another alongside Ward St), with a mix of routes to NYC, routes to local towns, and within Paterson. The taxi stop is at the Market St side, and you'll usually find a taxi or two ready to take you to your destination, and Uber/Lyfts usually stop close by there too. There's two stairwells here, one on the Market St side, and another on the Ward St side, and the elevator is on the Ward St side. The train platform itself is open air, good for summer days & pleasant weather, but not so much for winter & chilly days, where there's no source of heating elements there, so at most riders would have to wait in horrid conditions. Unfortunately this station doesn't have an "official" parking lot so most people that come here on cars would park at the municipal parking garage across the street, for a good rate. If you've needed access to a phone, there's a payphone close by to the Ward St elevator, and fortunately it works. There are no food options within the station itself, so if you've wanted food, there's a large consortium of them in the area, ranging from chains such as Dunkin' & McDonalds, to local pizza joints, and a large number of small Dominican/Caribbean/Arabic spots to eat in, results may vary, or check on Yelp! In my personal experience, the station does seem woefully inadequate to be around, and in a dire need of some upgrades. Being the third largest city in the state, it does seem worrisome that this is the only station in the city (in the past it had more), whereas other commuter friendly cities such as Montclair would have 6 (even if they run "close" to each other). The station itself isn't in the brightest of neighborhoods, usually seeing homeless people camping out under the station's support beams, or loitering in nearby businesses. The elevator does seem filthy sometimes and with a questionable odor, and other times it runs "slow" I fear it might just sputter out one day! Rarely would one of the TVMs have an error with accepting cash, which would be an inconvenience to some commuters. The aforementioned issue with this station being (partially) open air does get problematic in winter since it leaves little in the way for people waiting to take the blunt of the cold/stormy weather, even a heating tower would've helped. A small bonus is that it does provide for some good views of the city during the evening, but it's not in a good spot to take sight of for a good while. Ending this, Paterson's NJ Transit station offers a decent way to leave/get into the city via rail and offers commuters who don't have access to a car a chance to travel/work/etc, but lacking amenities you'd find in other stations & being in an unsafe environment does leave much for the imagination. It'll always be around in one shape or another, so that's something to look forward to. Maybe next time?
