I had to give a 5 star review, because of how fast I was in and out. If anyone has been driving as long as I have (or longer) knows the DMV and Inspection Stations are an all day event and can be a nightmare. Boyyyy have things changed! I came in on a Saturday late morning, an hour and half before they closed, and I was in and out within 15 minutes! Yes, FIFTEEN MINUTES!!! What a world of a difference from many years ago. Such a vast difference and MUCH, MUCH easier experience than the NY vehicle inspection process. I had to get a vehicle inspection for the 1st time in NJ and wasn't sure what to expect when I visited the Paramus Vehicle Inspection Station, but it exceeded my expectations by a mile. Since my vehicle was relatively new (less than 5 years old), I didn't have to go through the typical inspection process, but instead just drive my car up to the "Manager's Office" and got my new NJ inspection sticker added to my windshield. As to how the process went....I decided to go get my new inspection sticker on a Wednesday (no appointment required) and rolled in at around 1pm. There were barely any cars there to get an inspection. I searched for the "Manager's Office" and, unbeknownst to me, it was actually just a little car port with a booth to drive up to (hence my quotes). Luckily, I was able to track down an employee who was just walking away from the booth and he provided me instructions to drive my car up to the booth. Within 2-3 minutes, I was done! I literally backed my car up into the car port, handed my new registration over to the employee and he scrapped off my NY inspection sticker and stuck my new NJ inspection sticker on. That's it! Free of charge! It was THAT easy! Of course, if I needed an actual inspection, the process might have been a bit longer, but from the looks of past reviews, it seems like it is just as smooth of a process. And mind you, the employee was friendly and informative of when I needed to get an inspection again. Simply put, this was probably the best "inspection" I ever had and I'm hoping future inspections will be just as...well...simple! read more

This has to be the fastest Motor vehicle inspection I've ever had. When I went to the DMV this week they told me that I could have my car inspected for free at any of the official MVC sites. I was wary of going to anywhere free because I thought the wait would be long. But it was just the opposite. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. I can't speak to the thoroughness of the review but from a customer perspective, I was happy that I didn't have to wait and it was free. They had a person directing the line of moving cars. Once it was my turn, I exited the car and waited to the side briefly for a few minutes before they called me back. They had put the inspection sticker on my car and I was good to go :) read more

The process was smooth and quick. No long wait compared to previous visits. I love that I don't have to pay for this service.

Before quarantine, you could be in and out within 15 minutes. Now, because of the backlog of inspections needed, once you get your ticket at the entry gate--if it's a full line of cars--it'll take a solid hour from when you get your ticket until you are done. The staff are nice and professional, so that's the same as before. The inspector in Lane 5 was great. Good luck! read more

Very quick and super efficient. Whole thing took about 15 mins of course I went on a weekday afternoon.

Had to get my initial inspection sticker. I was driving around for 3 months without it, Who knew? Anyway went to the Paramus location. The one attend sent me to the wrong line, and this wonderful man moved to the new car line. I was out in 15 minutes. The gentleman who assisted me was hilarious. It was over 100 degrees that day. He was still pleasant, sarcastic which I love and just a great guy. Great experience. I'd like to thank them for their work, especially during the heat. read more

Nobody likes going to the DMV. But if you only need to get an inspection, the location in Paramus is your best bet. It's kinda hidden just off Route 17 and they ONLY do inspections, which means that the line is not usually very long. I've gone midweek/month, and even end of month isn't so bad. I most recently went the day after Christmas and I only waited about 30 minutes in and out. But other visits I've come with no line or wait at all. read more

Went to inspection station in Paramus on 1/16/23. Sat there for an hour before a worker showed up just before 9 am. I asked him if they were opening and he said not until 10 am. He said there was a delayed opening because of the storm. Now mind you there was barely an inch of snow on the ground. He then told me I should have checked the website. I actually did check the website while I was waiting online and it showed that the station was open. Now I have to lose another morning to go to inspection. read more

I just went to the inspection station and I was literally in and out in less than 10 minutes which was wonderful. BUT, the woman who is working there directing cars is the nastiest, rudest woman that I have ever encountered. She screamed at me because I didn't move up fast enough. They were not busy and I just wanted to make sure I had all of my documents ready so I am uncertain as to why I was screamed at for not moving faster. We are talking a split second delay here, not minutes. She was so rude I was truly in shock. I understand it must not be a fun job to work there, but the way I was spoken to was completely out of line and unacceptable. Another person standing there said everyone there was rude. Had the most positive experience at this inspection station. The wait was a little under an hour, which is a miracle considering people normally expect 1.5 hour waits. When I got up to have my vehicle inspected, Will was an absolute pleasure and immediately struck up conversation and made the experience that much better. This man deserves a raise! I know, I know, cutting it close to closing time, but I wasn't the only one. I was driving around for months without an a new car inspection sticker, and when I realized I was so nervous taking it in. No one asked any questions, and the Paramus location was so nice! Since my car was less than 5 years old, I didn't need the full inspection, so I just had to go to the new car section and hand over my registration. I had to get a state inspection, we bought a car on Carvana and had to get it inspected. Went to the station, pulled up to the new vehicle inspection, waited for the manager to come out. He cane out, I gave him the green card that came with my registration and license plates and the registration. He put a new vehicle inspection sticker on and I was done. It literally took 7 minutes. You get a new vehicle inspection if your vehicle is 5 years or newer. Best process and painless. read more

Used this inspection site for the first time since moving to NJ. I went on a Saturday morning. There were about 10 cars ahead of me, so I expected to be there at least an hour. They then asked cars to line up behind the different stations, which put my car as first in line in my lane. I had everything ready for the worker, who was friendly enough and professional. I came here Saturday morning 7:05am. They open at 7am. I had to do a brand new car inspection because my car was bought in NY and my plates were NJ where I live. The man working at this particular section at Paramus inspection station was so nice and warm. I haven't seen customer service like that in a long time. It was very fast.
