My vehicle is still under warranty, yet they tried to charge me a number of additional fees. When I scheduled the appointment, I was specifically told the car would be completed in one day. Once I arrived, that completely changed--they could not even give me an estimate of when the repair would be completed. What is the point of making a service appointment if the dealership cannot honor the timeframe they give you or even provide a reasonable update on when your vehicle will be repaired? The entire experience was frustrating and a complete waste of my time. I expected much better customer service from an Acura dealership, especially for a vehicle that is still under warranty. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this service department. Nor would I buy a car from this dealership again!

So my family and I just left for vacation and we're making really good time. Then, to just make it…read moreeven more fun, after a few hours our blinking check engine light comes on. The car is still driving but a blinking light means "go have it checked out ASAP." The acceleration is going bad, and we're thinking, "*hit!" We plugged in the nearest Honda dealer and it was Honda of Stamford. Time for a detour. We arrived at 7:30 and the service department opened at 8 on Saturday. We were second in line. About 7:45 a rep came and took our information. Right at 8, drove inside and then to the service desk. Said what the issue was and he said it sounded like a spark plug issue and about a 1-2 hour wait. And wait we did. About two hours later we got the verdict. Spark plugs. But they also recommended the 100,000 mile service and several other things like a sway bar (even showed a video) replacement. That would have run $5000. We just went with the spark plug replacement which was $600. The job was again another 1-2 hours. And again we wait. After a total time of five hours (7:30 arrival to about 12:30 leave), we were on our way again to our vacation destination. All staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Since it was a dealer, we also checked out all the new Honda vehicles. Additionally, because the new car seats were more comfortable than the waiting room seats, we sat in a new Odyssey just to talk for almost an hour surprisingly with no sales staff bothering us. It was interesting to get a call, though, from sales staff asking if we were interested in selling them our 12-year-old car and give options on buying a new car. The entire facility was clean and bright. They offer complementary coffee and hot chocolate/tea. This dealership has a cash price and a card price. The card prices are 3% higher. I was not happy about this business practice. It was good that we did get there when we did as they do about 80 cars a day in these busier Summer months and it would have been even longer of a wait. $600 later, our car is driving great. I did ask for a discount, but one was not given as it was not for something like a regular maintenance issue. Except for the long wait and extra 3% charge for a credit card (who carries $600 cash on themselves), our time at Honda of Stamford was thankfully what we needed to be able to enjoy our vacation.
