Flew out of MIA last week and Bam Im now TSA/ Global entry vertified!!! Not sure why I waited so long to complete this...it was a breeze, took 15min, they ask a few questions and your out! Fill out the application online ahead of time, it took me 6mths to get the notice for a appointment. You can actually use it the same day, I had no problems leaving and coming back in to MIA for Guadalupe. Remember most credit cards companies offer this for free every 5yrs. They are located on Terminal J. I used the free shuttle from my Aloft hotel, so parking was not a issue for me. Jus do it!

    Signage to GOES

With family in the US and abroad signing up for GOES seems like a good idea especially when its free with an approved Visa credit card application with Chase's Sapphire Reserve card. Otherwise, GOES costs $100, $15 more than TSA Pre-check, and includes TSA Pre-check with the application. Having GOES approval allows you to go through domestic TSA Pre-check lines and US re-entry customs boarded lines, which saves time. The application is good for 5 years. US Customs and Boarders Protection agents handle your application. There is a mandatory interview at a GOES office and the application is a bit more involved (than TSA Pre-check) asking for address and employment history, which is a bit cumbersome. Once your online application is pre-approved, you need to go in for an interview. I chose to visit the GOES office in Miami airport which is correctly addressed in the J terminal which is in the South Terminal (not the North Terminal with American Airlines). You will need to park in Flamingo Parking lot, walk to the ground floor cross over to the J Terminal and take the elevator to the 2nd floor, then head down J until you are across from Lufthansa. Otherwise look for GOES signage. Parking was $6. The interview was pain free. I made an appointment at 8:30am in the morning and arrived 15 minutes early. I sat down for 1 minute before an agent saw me. I answered a few questions, had my fingers scanned, and that was it. Within 15 minutes I was on my back to work and had an email notifying me my membership was approved. Your Global Entry membership number is what you'll use when you book flights online which is also your Known Travel Number for TSA Pre-check. I really do hope I save a little more time traveling. Crossing fingers and knocking on wood.

Ask the Community - Global Entry Enrollment Center

Is this office before or after the TSA security checkpoint?

It is closest to the exterior doors to the parking lot, before you even get to the ticket counter area.

Is this in the airport? Or at the airport? or just close to the airport? Thanks!

Inside the airport on the same level as the ticketing counters. All the way at the very end of Concourse J/South Terminal. Its location on Google Maps is pretty accurate

They have been dominating this sector for decades. My recent conquest was a trip to Antigua, located in the eastern caribbean and located in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles. I was seated in Business Class on the final leg from Miami to Antigua. The almost 3 hour flight was serving a hot lunch in the premium cabin. I had preordered the Beef Wellington and was skeptical as to how the dish would turn out at a cruising altitude of over 32,000 feet. When the dish arrived at my seat, I was truly surprised at how crisp and fluffy the pastry shell presented, enveloping a generous portion of meat. The entree itself came perfectly cooked with carrots, potatoes and asparagus. There was also a salad with greens, grapes and walnuts. Dessert was a small pecan pie/tart that was moist, not too seeet and tasty. My neighbor and I agreed that it was truly exceptional. On my return flight, from Antigua to Miami, in Business Class, I was again served lunch. Here, I chose the baked chicken with pesto sauce, potatoes, broccolini and tomatoes. The. Salad had spinach, greens and grilled red pepper. Another accompaniment contained an aioli with a grilled vegetable and walnuts. A hot assortment of bread rolls was also served. Dessert was a small slice of carrot cake which was moist, not too sweet, with a silky icing and extremely delicious. Overall, on both legs, my impression of food service in the premium cabin has had a drastic change. Both meals were served at the optimum temperature and were skillfully prepared and served. Easily the best meals I have had on American Airlines. Just so you know, I have traveled the premium cabin numerous times and the food has been unremarkable. Nothing to write home about. So what changed this time, to provide this high class dining experience in the air?

The lack of communication and organization was unbelievable. We were left standing for hours with little to no direction while employees gave conflicting information or simply brushed people off. It felt like no one wanted to take responsibility or help us figure out our next steps. My husband had to be back in New York for work the next morning, and we were forced to spend our own money on another flight because we couldn't get any clear answers. To make matters worse, no one could tell us where our checked luggage was or when we would get it back. Having valuables in our suitcase only made the situation even more stressful. A flight cancellation is one thing. Treating customers as if they don't matter is another. Better communication, compassion, and professionalism would have made a world of difference. Instead, we were left frustrated, exhausted, and feeling completely abandoned. After this experience, we will never choose American Airlines again.

We had no issues here during our recent trip to Miami. From a functional standpoint, I think it's fine. The longest line occurred when checking our bags. Security was good (granted, we used CLEAR+ with TSA PreCheck) and the Delta Sky Club in the H-J Connector is nice. It consists of 13 gates and is easily accessible to Concourse J (also part of the South terminal) by walking airside. The main carrier at this concourse is Delta, though United (which has a very limited presence here) and budget carriers Frontier and Spirit use it as well. Concourse J nearby services non-OneWorld international airlines like Copa, Caribbean Airlines, and Air Canada. The South Terminal has its own baggage claim area. One must exit to baggage claims (i.e. go landside) to be able to access the other terminals. Since American Airlines is the major carrier at MIA, I had to do exactly that to meet my brother (who was flying American). It can be done all inside (important since this is Miami), but it was a bit of a walk.
