Very poor customer service. I called for assistance and the representative simply hung up the phone in my face. Extremely unprofessional.

As I was handing my wife her drink while waiting for our flight to be available for boarding, the coffee cup I was holding failed catastrophically. I went to the nearest airport employee (who was standing with his hands behind his back doing nothing) and asked if he could call custodial services for the spill. He said "that's not my job. You have to talk to the counter people." I went to the counter, waited several minutes to be acknowledged, and asked again. The response was "This isn't our gate and it's not our problem." There was a wet floor sign leaning against the wall next to him and I asked him to hand it to me. You'd have thought I'd just handed him a bag of week old lunch meat based on the look on his face. He handed me the sign, and I placed it at the spill, then got us moved to a different spot.

I've been flying out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport since I was a kid, so I know it well--and it still holds up. I've been through plenty of airports across Florida, and I'll say it straight: Fort Lauderdale and Miami International Airport consistently have some of the BEST flight prices. If you're trying to travel without getting financially humbled, this is where you want to be. Period. Now that I've moved further up the coast, I regret it every single time I search for flights and see the price difference. It's painful. Like...why did I do this to myself? And let's be honest--Florida's gotten a lot more crowded lately, and not exactly in a charming way. But if you can deal with that and just focus on getting a solid deal, this airport is absolutely clutch. And if you're flying international, Miami is close enough to keep your options wide open without too much extra effort. Bottom line: cheaper flights, easy layout, and still one of the best airports in South Florida to fly out of. If saving money matters to you, it's worth the drive. The only downfall is they keep raising the prices for the parking garage. It is ridiculous and I'm thankful I have a girlfriend near by where I can leave my car.

While very easy to navigate, things change nearly every single time I've stopped in, and I'm here a lot. On this particular visit, it seemed like every single person working in customer service did not want to be at work today, and I get it. I'm a flight attendant, I know social batteries can be drained from constant interactions with customers. Anyway, there are ample shopping opportunities, food choices, and plenty of places to sit. But they need to fix the ac, cause it's always hot as heck lol. Otherwise, it's an airport ‍

I was seated in Business Class on the final leg from Miami to Antigua. The almost 3 hour flight was serving a hot lunch in the premium cabin. I had preordered the Beef Wellington and was skeptical as to how the dish would turn out at a cruising altitude of over 32,000 feet. When the dish arrived at my seat, I was truly surprised at how crisp and fluffy the pastry shell presented, enveloping a generous portion of meat. The entree itself came perfectly cooked with carrots, potatoes and asparagus. There was also a salad with greens, grapes and walnuts. Dessert was a small pecan pie/tart that was moist, not too seeet and tasty. My neighbor and I agreed that it was truly exceptional. On my return flight, from Antigua to Miami, in Business Class, I was again served lunch. Here, I chose the baked chicken with pesto sauce, potatoes, broccolini and tomatoes. The. Salad had spinach, greens and grilled red pepper. Another accompaniment contained an aioli with a grilled vegetable and walnuts. A hot assortment of bread rolls was also served. Dessert was a small slice of carrot cake which was moist, not too sweet, with a silky icing and extremely delicious. Overall, on both legs, my impression of food service in the premium cabin has had a drastic change. Both meals were served at the optimum temperature and were skillfully prepared and served. Easily the best meals I have had on American Airlines. Just so you know, I have traveled the premium cabin numerous times and the food has been unremarkable. Nothing to write home about. So what changed this time, to provide this high class dining experience in the air?

We had no issues here during our recent trip to Miami. From a functional standpoint, I think it's fine. The longest line occurred when checking our bags. Security was good (granted, we used CLEAR+ with TSA PreCheck) and the Delta Sky Club in the H-J Connector is nice. Concourse J nearby services non-OneWorld international airlines like Copa, Caribbean Airlines, and Air Canada. The South Terminal has its own baggage claim area. One must exit to baggage claims (i.e. go landside) to be able to access the other terminals. Since American Airlines is the major carrier at MIA, I had to do exactly that to meet my brother (who was flying American). It can be done all inside (important since this is Miami), but it was a bit of a walk.

Second, after immigration, you need to go through customs and another security check that then separates you by your passport (US and non-US). The lines varies a lot.
