Glo30's location in Shaw is small but efficient in terms of how they use the space. The music selection has become monotonous with the same playlist of slowed-down covers of songs. Their fatal flaw is being notorious for canceling appointments. I have had at least 4 canceled, one of which had no notice. And due to their small size, rescheduling them was an arduous chore with their minimal staff. I ultimately had to cancel my membership; as a parting gift, my final appointment was canceled yet again. I have little faith that they will not try to charge me their $30 fee for using my outstanding credit after canceling my membership. If you have ultimate flexibility in your schedule, then give them a try. If you value a business respecting your time, then I'd look elsewhere. read more

I have been a Glo30 patient since they were "Blush Med" back in the day! I live in Potomac falls, VA and have been going to the Reston location for several months now. I see aesthetician, Imen and she is is 1000% incredible with her customer service and her magic hands! Her technique with the tools and her massages are to die for! I had my first Glo30 facial last month. Since I get laser hair removal on my face, I have to ask about the ingredients in facials to make sure I don't damage my skin. I did not get their facial of the month which was the Hibiscus FreshGlo but instead got one of their standard FreshGlo facials which consisted of cleaning, exfoliating, toning and hydrating the skin. I decided not to go with the Hibiscus facial for the month of June because when you get laser hair removal on the face you can't have a chemical peel within a certain time frame of when you got your last laser treatment. Although, I was assured that it was a very light peel and shouldn't do any damage, I didn't want to take any chances. Overall, my experience was fantastic. It was relaxing and just what I needed. The facial left my skin glowing. I will definitely be returning. I'm trying to find the best time to book my July appointment now. I went to the Wharf location at like 11:00 am which was great. It was easy to find and not many people were there at that time because they had just opened. I think it was Samantha who did my facial. She was great at explaining the products and telling me what I should use on my skin to clear up the mild dark spots on my face. read more

I have been a customer of Glo30 for years. I've recently had the worst experience . What's more frustrating is then their only phone number is to a scheduling hotline so you can never speak with management. When I had a misunderstanding about my membership I first tried to resolve it on October 11. It's been more than 2 months and I'm still emailing a new person each time though their service. I'm not worth a phone call. It's been hard enough finding an esthetician at Glo30 who can handle dark skin but then to deal with the lack luster customer service has been the cherry on top. (Samantha is AMAZING, fyi) Do yourself a favor. Especially for my dark skinned Black women. Find another place in DC for a facial. You're better off. read more

Honestly I really want to like this place. I regretfully have a year long membership and want to invest in my skin, but it's just not up to par. The promise of a year-long plan for your skin isn't remotely true. I've been to both the Shaw and the Wharf locations and have received sub-par treatments that are far from personalised to my skincare needs. My aesthetician at the Wharf refused to do extractions, told me eating asparagus caused acne (literally not true...) and before I'd even checked out, she hounded me for a tip via Venmo when my phone was dead - she made me plug my phone in and stood there while it charged to make sure I tipped! I visited the Shaw location hoping for a different experience. I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to skincare, ingredients etc. and I wasn't asked about my routine or what my skin reacts to, apart from being asked if I used retinol. All in all, on both occasions, I did not get the personalised service as advertised. My hydration levels weren't measured and I wasn't asked what I was looking for or what areas I wanted to work on. I outwardly told Tsegi that my last aesthetician at the Wharf refused do extractions, and asked her to review my skin and tell me what she thought I needed from the facial. She didn't communicate at all - I actually have zero idea what treatments I received but I assume it was their facial of the month (which contained snail I later found out - I don't use any animal products so this would have been nice to know up front.) All of the products they use seem to be highly fragranced, which again would have been nice to know up front as, like most people who know anything about skincare, I generally avoid fragrance in my products due to the chance of irritation. Also beware that if you tip via card their payment system automatically calculates the % based on the standard rate, not the $80 monthly rate. I ended up tipping 40% on the actual amount I paid because of this. I'll try another aesthetician and hope for better service but honestly so far it's not been worth the $80 a month read more

I love GLO30! I am docking it one star because it was a bit of a hassle to schedule appointments at the Shaw location when I first signed up. When I signed up for the membership, there were no times available, and I had to email them, and they opened up more spots. I've learned to just book my monthly appointment months in advance (4-6 months out) to ensure I get a date/time that I want. I've had no problems since then, but it was quite frustrating to sign up for something like this and not be able to book easily. As far as the facials themselves, i started in February, so I'm 7 months in, and I'm in love! I plan to continue after my year ends. I look forward to my visits each month. I have been seeing Samantha exclusively - she's fantastic! Her extractions are effective but gentle - I've had facials at other places in the past that have left me irritated and inflamed for a week, but not here. Her massages are the best, and she's very friendly and informative. She answers my questions intelligently and patiently, and recommends products when I need them without being pushy. Yesterday, Samantha asked me how my skin was doing before our session, and I told her about some pressure I was feeling under my skin that I usually feel right before a monster zit pops out (we all know that feeling, right?), and she gave the area some extra attention during the facial, and today I am feeling no pressure at all. I am confident (though knock on wood!) that her magic has kept the monster zit at bay lol. The products I've purchased through GLO30 have all been wonderful. Since I have a discount on products as a member and earn points for credit, I've stopped shopping elsewhere and subscribing to beauty boxes (e.g., Allure - as fun as those things are!) because I know I'm getting quality at GLO30. I've received the facial of the month each month, and they're each unique, creative, relaxing, and fun. I don't have any major skin issues these days (I didn't when I started), and do GLO30 mostly for relaxation and self-care, but one friend (who is obsessed with skin care) has told me recently that my skin appears to be glowing more than usual. Overall, I'm happy I signed up for this and plan to continue in the future. read more

I absolutely love Glo 30! Been a member since 2016! However, I didn't really fall in love until the Shaw location opened and I had my first appointment with Brittney as the receptionist and Tsegi as my esthetician! Britt always greets me with a warm smile and answers any and all questions for me regarding products in the store. She also makes check in/check out quick and easy for me since I'm usually there on my lunch break. Tsegi is also amazing because she truly took the time to learn my skin and always provides me with an attentive and personalized service. I heard about Glo30 via Instagram, and assumed it was overhyped or a gimmick because of the intense marketing. HOWEVER, I was shopping at Ivy Wild for skincare and one of their employees was raving about Glo30 (I trust them since they know clean, local skincare), and I thought the $80 price was great--so I stopped in...The receptionist was no BS, upfront, and the ladies coming out of their facials at the time told me "you can't live without it". I scheduled a facial hours later. IT WAS ACTUALLY FANTASTIC! I think the only con is that the staff don't create a plan for you or explain the treatments very much, so you just have to ask them more and more questions. But they were very clean, friendly, professional, didn't try to sell me anything. My skin looks incredible. Go try them. They don't charge for add-on LED or microdermabrasion, so I went with them over Silver Mirror. read more

Right, so blush skincare. I'm a member(impulse decision) and have been to 3 treatments so far (all at the wharf branch). There are good and bad things: *Pros: nice location, nice rooms. Yana is a great therapist who knows what she's doing but also is very gentle and has a very nice, calming presence to her. Yana does very good job at cleaning my face and after each session, my breakouts definitely calm down. *Cons: cheapskating by management. Laying down on a paper sheet OVER a blanket? Why's that? Because you are too cheap to do laundry? Or not providing eye cream as a part of treatment even after cleaning the face AND the eye area? The concept of different facials for every month is cute but it's borderline gimmicky. People have different skin types and treatment should be based on individual skin needs, not on what you can come up with based on the cuteness factor. Overall, what can I say.. is it a place for quality skincare - nah. But if you have extra 60-70 bucks and you want to chill and maybe freshen up a tad - maybe. Bring your own moisturizer and lip balm by the way. And eye cream. read more

I had two facials with Samantha and both were absolutely amazing. She was incredibly meticulous paying attention to the needs of my skin and considering how my skin had changed after the first facial (microdermabrasion). The facials really demonstrated Samantha's vast knowledge and dedication to her profession. She complemented the facials with wonderfully relaxing hand massages. Unfortunately, I don't live in D.C., but will make a point to get another facial with her when I am in town again. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I signed up for the membership which charges you $69/month for one credit. I was also told that an unused credit for a given month can be rolled over to upgrade your service the next month. I signed up for my first facial and it was fine. During my second facial in at the Shaw location, the esthetician was so harsh on my skin and used tools to perform extractions. She left several bumps underneath the surface of my skin and scars that took months to heal. I decided to hold off on treatments until the scars healed and save my credits. I finally booked another facial yesterday at the Bethesda location (hoping to avoid the Shaw esthetician). I signed up for the level 2 service, figuring I could use my unused credits. The woman who did my facial was great. She was super gentle and did light extractions. However when I went to check out, I was charged for the upgrade in service. I was told that they switched the terms of the membership and that I can't roll over credits anymore. I would not have signed up for the level 2 if I had known this. I was never notified about this change. How does a business just switch the terms of the membership that I agreed to without telling me or getting my consent? I find this to be a terrible business practice. Now I'm forced to squeeze in my extra credits for services every two weeks. I will be cancelling my membership as soon as the year-long period expires. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Blush Med for a couple of years, and went to the Bethesda location exclusively. A friend mentioned how amazing Tsegi was, and so I went to the Shaw location so I could try her. What an AMAZING esthetician. It takes me twice as long to get there, but she really takes her time to address your skins concerns, and really goes the extra mile to ensure she addresses those concerns. I purchased and paid for a membership in full at the beginning of January. I used one facial and one laser sessions only to find out that I was going to have to suddenly move out of the area. As this can happen sometimes with my line of work, I wanted to ensure that there was a possibility for refund if an unexpected move were to arise. I was assured that this was one of the only reasons under which they would provide a refund. I asked to receive a copy of the paperwork stating that I needed to provide proof of a move for a refund (this was after several back and forth e-mails with a woman in customer service named Michelle who was rude and unhelpful and seemed she couldn't be bothered). It has been three weeks and I have yet to see a copy of this paperwork that I signed. Additionally, all of this company's phone calls are outsourced to a call center, so even when calling to try to resolve this issue, all they can do is "send an urgent ticket". This was supposedly done and there has still been no resolution. On principle, I wanted to see this paperwork as, coincidentally, I was never sent a copy of it. I paid for about $1500 worth of services that I will not be able to use and Glo30 is seemingly refusing to refund me for. Go elsewhere ladies. This "salon" (which is also dirty and outdated) isn't worth it and their services aren't of the caliber to go through this kind of hassle. read more

I love Blush!! I've always made routine skincare treatments a priority, but I struggled to find somewhere that I loved in DC... until I came here! I absolutely love their SkinFit program and membership! All of their locations are beautiful and clean. Their entire staff is SO friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my treatments every month, and I truly have seen my skin (which I thought was already pretty good) transform before my eyes over the past four months. The concept here is cool, but the business model seems predatory. Went online in their chat service to ask a simple question about membership: Do you get to choose your skincare treatment or is it predetermined by them? Was told that I would have to give all contact info to a specific location front desk to get an answer. What's with the lack of transparency? If membership is the same for all locations, why not share this info? The website is a bit bare on information. Between that and finding out that you can't get out of your membership until at least a full year, I'm deciding to pass. If your products and services were worth the money, you wouldn't force consumers into contracts. I seriously caution anyone considering such an arrangement, because you will be stuck with a bill regardless of satisfaction. read more

I've seen Dr L. for injectables a few times and I can't stop singing her praises. It's obvious that she's passionate about what she does and cares about helping people feel their best. She always listens and answers my questions and she's great about explaining procedures and after care. Her work is impeccable. She takes her time to personalize according to my unique needs and breaks down a game plan for me. I always know when to make my next appointment so we can maximize the results. I had an amazing experience at my first appointment here last week. I saw Samantha for a hydration-boost facial and she was great. It had been such a long day and traffic was a nightmare leaving from work so I called ahead and let them know I was running behind and they were courteous enough to wait for me. I felt stressed when I arrived due to the traffic but Samantha immediately calmed my nerves and made me feel at ease. I have very sensitive skin and was not sure what to expect upon my visit- but the technology they have is incredible. Samantha was able to measure my PH levels, etc. to see what the best treatment would be for me. My skin also gets dry when the seasons change to the colder weather, so this appointment was perfect timing to get a better hold of my skin-care routine. I had a pretty terrible experience at Blush. Bottom line: I was wrong to put my trust in the spa's advice just because the founder has a "Dr." in front of her name, and the subscription service was an absolute pain to cancel when I moved out of region. The worst part was that the consultation and advice I received about products was just wrong. I purchased all of the products that Dr. Lamba recommended (all of which are sold conveniently in the spa store, lol), eager to trust her opinion and believe that the "natural" and "organic" products could do no harm to my skin. My skin went crazy, I thought because of purging, but then upon moving to New York, every dermatologist I saw, much to my surprise and dismay, laughed when I showed them the products I had been using and thinking were helping me. With bad acne, Dr. Lamba recommended I use a Juice Beauty moisturizer that had all kinds of oils in it that were terrible for my skin and only exacerbated my acne. Despite coming to Blush for several months and my acne continuing, no one ever checked in and said "let's reassess how these products are working for you." Not only was this recommendation patently wrong according to many reputable medical professionals who have since helped save my skin, it was also never even checked in on. Secondly, I needed to cancel a subscription because I moved from the DC area, and cancelling was incredibly difficult. Each time I called, someone told me something different about the cancellation policy. I also had to go to the store in person to cancel (this wasn't something serious - it was a monthly subscription, the need to cancel in person was astounding). Also, in signing to cancel I had to legally say I would accept a cancellation charge, even though it wasn't in the cancellation policy that I be charged (since it was due to a move) and I had to just trust they wouldn't charge me, knowing that they'd have legal grounds to do so since I had signed off on it. It was really bad business / legal form drafting that I couldn't opt out of "Accepting" that they could charge me a cancellation. I would not recommend this to anyone. I was really rooting for it because the economics were compelling and the location was convenient, but alas, major disappointment. read more

Went for my first botox (xeomin) with the nurse injector, Steve, and had a fantastic experience and result. He gave me advice to calm my nerves and prepare beforehand, and when I arrived he asked me lots of questions about my goals and comfort level. He put me at ease, walked me through every step of what he was doing, and best of all, did the injections painlessly. He has followed up to check on the progress and provided exactly the kind of patient care I expect. I look forward to trusting him with my care moving forward. read more

I had my first facial in 2 years with Tsagi (hope i spelled that correctly). A friend of mine who gets facials regularly recommended Blush so i decided to give it a try. tsagi was amazing. She has the hands of an angel! From start to finish te facial was soothing. My only complaint is that there is no waiting area. I arrived early and the previous client was still getting her facial, and there is nowhere to sit so i went across the street to the coffee shop to wait.
