After purchasing the gift card for her, I immediately received an email from the team at Montserrat asking if I wanted it mailed to a different address as mine was from out of town. I immediately noticed the bruising, but the technician had already moved on to another client and was unavailable to speak with me. Before I left, the front desk contacted her supervisor, who reportedly said that the bruising was "normal and okay." I was never offered an apology, refund, or any other resolution, only that they would not assign that technician to me again. I have had microdermabrasion facials dozens of times at other spas and have never experienced anything like this. I was told to expect some redness that would subside within a few hours, but there was no mention of the extensive bruising already on my face before leaving the treatment room. Four days later, I am still visibly bruised, and the discoloration is significant enough that even multiple layers of makeup do not cover it. The massages I received through my membership were generally decent, and everyone I personally interacted with was friendly. My last appointment left me concerned about the level of training and professionalism at the spa.

We left from our facials today and while having dinner both felt our skin was very sensitive. So we decided it would be better to return it.
