This is a really nice salon for manicures and pedicures. They have a lot of polishes in great colors and the staff is very nice.

it is 1 o'clock on April 3 and I just left glitzy nails very disgusted... I went here three days ago for a gel manicure and pedicure paid $38 for the gel manicure and gave a $10 tip.... my nails started coming apart the next day from the cuticles and started chipping on the second day. I went back today to complain and to have it removed, and they actually had the audacity to charge me again.!! he told me it was a service so I had to pay. The disrespectful male by the name of Tim was incredibly rude... He did not care that I was not happy with the service... the girl who did my nails also took off the polish... She had just finished a new customer, and the girl was waiting to have her nails repainted as she was so disgusted with the service that she had just received.... maybe that should have told them something that she does not know what she is doing ... I would have continued to go here if they were not so rude, but I will never return and I do not recommend this to anyone..... horrible, horrible business read more

What an absolute waste of money. I went to this salon because it was conveniently located during my errand run but my nails look horrendous. The technician was a sweet person but rushed through my gel manicure as if it was a race to get me out the door. I told her I had a performance and needed my nails to look good, but they look as if a child had painted them. There is more cured polish on my skin than on my actual nail. No cuticle clean-up, even asking her to cut them, and all of my nails are different lengths and shapes. Definitely will not be returning to this salon ever again. read more

I was new to the Toms River area, and was recommended to Glitzy Nails by a friend. The first time I went it was okay. I always make an appointment so I'm not left waiting for too long. My first gel manicure and regular pedicure started coming off in 4 days. The second time i got a gel pedicure and a full set of gels, and it was fine. This time, once again I made an appointment, picked a color and headed to a chair. They were short-handed for how busy it was so people were waiting longer than usual. The pedicure was being rushed, and the nail techs switched halfway through so the second technician could then go my gel nails. My toes were horribly shaped, and I later realized I have color all outside of my toenails and clear polish all over my toes. Then I went to the nail chair... I noticed that my old color was still visible as she started going into the clear gel on my nails. I asked her to finish getting the old color off... fast forward to getting out into sunlight. I have my old color still visible under the new gel. I have gel not filed off of the edges of my skin. I have bubble and holes in 2 nails. And two of my nails the gel doesn't even go to the edge. I would have rather been told to wait or come back a different day than pay $90 for this. Unfortunately I will not be going back. read more

Terrible experience and it all started when I walked through the door. Let me start by saying this is not my normal nail place, but I happened to be in the area and desperately needed a manicure so I just popped in and though they can't possibly mess this up, right? Boy was I wrong. It started with me trying to talk to the woman at the front who, between asking how much a gel manicure was and where to pick a color from, did not make eye contact with me once. Either looking down at papers or on her phone (every chance she got). I was surprised with the amount of color options they had, but that still could not save this place. Anyway, after I pick a color, she rushes through my nails. Filed shape was great, but still had some rough edges (noticed when I left). And I noticed that she was switching mY hands rather quickly under the UV Light, but I thought maybe it's fine and my place just leaves them in near the light longer. Fast forward, I wake up the next morning and the the color is literally lifting off the nails! Completely spontaneously! The edges were lifting and peeling to reveal a streaky, dull coat of the color underneath! That was literally the following day and here I am 3 days later and about half my nails are affected. I haven't done anything to them besides complete the peeling process when the color was mostly off anyway. This has never happened to me before and I get gel manicures quite regularly. Super disappointed, waste of $30 bucks. Will never return. read more

I first went to Glitzy Nails & Spa this past summer with my son's girl friend, for a pedicure. The young woman who did my pedi did a fantastic job, and my feet & nails looked great! The technician was efficient, professional and pleasant when we spoke. I went back today for a french manicure, and brought a friend who'd never been there before. The young woman who filed & painted my nails was very nice, and she laughed as we chatted. She did a fantastic job on my french manicure - and I'm very happy with this salon. I would definitely go back! It was a pleasant experience. I read the negative reviews - and I can agree, the receptionist wasn't real friendly... but she did her job properly... and besides, I was there to get my nails done... not make friends. Their prices are more than fair - the decor inside is lovely, and it's a very clean venue. I will definitely go back. read more

It is unfortunate that in order for me to compose this review I have to give them one star, as they deserve none. I called and made an appointment for 5:30 this evening. I arrived they seemed a bit perplexed but told me it would be 10 minutes. I said ok and waited for 15 minutes, at which time I was passed from one nail tech to another, each assuring me they can only take my nail color off as they were waiting for their appointments. I told them I too had an appointment. it obviously did not matter. I got up to leave and made sure I stopped at the owners table to assure her I would not be returning and would be sure to tell my friends as well not to patronize their salon. If I could give no stars I would. Stopped in on a break to get my eyebrows "cleaned up" and lip wax. I specifically stated I have been growing them in and just wanted to be cleaned up - I don't want to touch the new eyebrow hairs growing in. After having the wax roughly applied and brutally ripped off, where I am either missing a small piece of skin or it's a bruise! Area so red and swollen I can't tell! I will never, ever go back there. In addition, my eyebrows are now thinner then they were before and the arch is in-even. Lesson learned for me - convenience and impatience is NOT worth it!!!! I went to this nail spa about 3 weeks ago and again today. The first impression I had was it was clean and attractive inside and it is. Also a great selection of nail gels. But that is where any compliments end. My last visit was disappointing. The nail tech cut my finger, there was polish on a half dozen fingers. To say it was a sloppy job would be simplifying it. Today I returned to a different nail tech. No cuts this time but not a precise manicure. I again have polish on my skin and my nail tips are not smooth. First off, I think it's almost comedic to read the reviews listed thus far, as I feel like this is single handedly the most well organized and CLEAN nail salon I've ever been to. The back splashes and spa pedicure chairs make me feel like I walked into a resort, 5 stars for ambience! The atmosphere is so welcoming and efficiently run that I can't believe salon standards are run in any other manner. I was visiting from LA and was in need of some TLC. I called ahead to ask for pricing as per normal so I don't get surprised when I'm there and it was extremely fair, Gel Manicure $25, Regular Spa Pedicure $25, and eyebrow waxing $8. Compared to LA, I felt like I was already saving a fortune. I didn't make an appointment because I wasn't sure of my schedule for the day, but I didn't need to as there was plenty of staff readily available. Linh and Kim helped me with my services for the day. They use a product called iGel that I haven't seen before that allowed me to access a huge variety of gel colors more modern. My nails turned out great, no bubbling, uneven paint, or problems. Kim walked me through my eyebrow wax by drawing an image of what she recommended when I told her I wanted more of a shape. I've never had someone do that before, it's always been a in good faith gesture so that was really surprising. I was in and out of the salon within a half hour or less. I was brought back to get my pedicure and sat soaking my feet for no less than 20 minutes when they told me that they had taken the wrong person back. I then waited another 15 minutes for the technician to get to me. At this point my feet were very pruney. In a normal pedicure you expect them to make your feet look nice but the technician informed me that it would be another $15 for scraping of calluses, a salt scrub, etc. I am willing to spend the money if it's worth it but the technician was nasty and the process was painful! Ladies (and men) I don't know about you, but when I go for a pedicure, I want it to be a relaxing experience. Having to wait so long and then being treated poorly by the technician and THEN having to pay almost double what I thought I would is unacceptable. I just went here with my best friend because of a recommendation. The decor of the nail salon was gorgeous, so at first I was really impressed. My friend had a great nail technician, whereas the guy who did my nails left a lot to be desired. Specifically, he didn't listen to my choice of glitter and the way I wanted my nails cut. Do not let the nice decor fool you, This place is awful!This was without a doubt THE WORST manicure I have ever received. The nail technician seemed really nice when I first sat down, super chatty and friendly. It wasn't until I turned down his $10 upsell of "dip" polish that his mood changed. I simply wanted a gel manicure, doesn't get any simpler than that but I was there for an hour (i walked in with NOTHING on my nails to begin with). After he finished the last coat of white he put my nails into the UV light for the polish to set. When he went to go do the clear top coat I noticed the gel on my thumb was wrinkly and my pointer finger was only half painted. So I asked if he could just re-do my thumb nail and just throw another coat on the pointer finger. Well, it seems that was a real inconvenience for him. He sat there huffing and puffing and told me the thumb wrinkled because I didn't leave my thumb in long enough (even though he has it on the timer).
