I would rate this a big 0!!!! we were told they would call us to come back to try a dress on with an hour. my sister got a call at 310 but didnt notice it until 5 minutes later and we got to the store 10 minutes after. mind you we have 2 little kids and there were no elevators. when we got there they told us no one called us and they don't have their info or dresses. then my sister showed them they did call and they said well no on called back so we figured you left the store. my mom had a separate card with her number on it and they never called her. when talking to someone about it she rolled her eyes and gave attitude. I talked to the manager and she just said no one called us back. Very positive experience. My daughter had seen a prom dress on their Instagram & they had it in several different sizes. They also had many other dresses in the color she wanted, a great selection! And a printout of what dresses other girls at her school had already purchased, so she wouldn't be "twinning". We went in the afternoon during the week, without an appointment, no problem. The sales girls were very nice, helpful & not PHONY like at that other popular prom dress store nearby. They were very patient with my daughter who was torn between two dresses. Downtown danvers location I was not a fan of. We had to wait for 15 minutes for a dressing room when there was several open. We had to wait for a "stylist" and once she helped us she left us. I was helping my friend zipper her dress because our person was no where to be found, she came up and pushed me to the side and said she has to zipper it when I had zippered the past 3 dresses she tried on. We got more dresses and struggled to carry them upstairs and she saw us and said she'd be coming back up soon and didn't even offer to carrry the several dresses up. The most unprofessional business I have ever purchased an item from. Customer service lacks communication skills and hospitality. The financial branch has no clue what they are doing and specifically Christopher was extremely rude and impossible to deal with. I tried calling to talk to the owner and left a message to be called back... never received a call back. This was the most unpleasant experience and has been traumatic. This is the worst store i have ever been in. Not only is it over priced and tacky, but the employees are beyond rude. My friend went to get a prom dress here and the employees made fun of her weight and forced her to try on a dress my friend knew wouldn't fit. The woman zipped up the dress despite my friend saying it wasn't going to fit, and the dress ended up ripping. On top of that, they laughed at her budget for a dress. The Salem location sucks. With gross inside and very sketchy. The woman working was trying to force me to buy a dress i HATED. I told her strapless and black. We thought that going to a place with 20,000 dresses on hand was a good idea. This place is so jam packed with dresses still in plastic, it's almost impossible to look at them. The customer service is awful and sales tactics are higher pressure than car salesman. We looked at a particular dress that was out of our price range and moved on. When it came time for my daughter to try on the 3 dresses she chose, the stylist working with her picked a couple more for her to try. One being the dress we passed on because of budget. I told the stylist that we had already looked at it and it wasn't an option. She pretty much I told me she was going to have her try it on anyway. When my daughter tried on a dress she liked, the stylist immediately said, so this is the one? And asked to sign a clipboard with the information. I came here to look for my own gown to my Senior prom in high school. I had tried other places prior to this one and I just couldn't find the "perfect dress" for me. That is, until I came here. When I first walked in, the first thing I noticed was the wide selection of dresses they had for all different sizes and styles. The staff there was incredible and helped me right away to find the right dress for me. I tried a couple that I liked until I finally found one that I instantly fell in love with. From simple, classy, to outrageously bold, this place has a dress for every kind of girl. I'm pretty picky when it comes to dresses and I really appreciated how accommodating the staff was about it. They really took their time to understand what type of dress I wanted. As far as pricing goes, prom dresses are not cheap. And if you go to other places, the pricing is going to be the same range. But, honestly, it's your prom night and you should wear a dress that makes you feel and look like a real princess. STAY AWAY - BE VERY AFRAID! DO NOT EVEN GO IN JUST TO LOOK!! YOU'LL REGRET IT! I went to the shop in Salem, MA to shop for a dress for a friends wedding. I live in CT. The wedding and this shop are in MA - a three hour trip one way. I went there because that is where the Bride bought her dress. Even the Bride had trouble just ordering & buying a dress from these people. The Bride just thought the owners were having a bad day and initially gave them the benefit of the doubt. WE know better now! One of the dresses they asked me to try on was a size and half too big. When I expressed concern about the cost of alterations, Katherina said her mother knew a seamstress who gets a lot of work from them - that they would have all the alterations (hem, sides, etc.) done for $79.00. I did some research closer to my home in CT. Unfortunately, I did not find the right shop in my area the first time I searched. So I decided to return to the shop in Salem, buy the dress ($300.00), to include the agreed upon alteration cost of $79.00. I had to make TWO round trips back to MA to finally get the dress pinned (I've bought the dress so now the games begin). Once the dress was pinned, the HUSBAND stepped in and said they (he & his wife) would do everything they could to get the dress altered at a REASONABLE price! I asked right away what did that mean, that we already had a set price on the alterations. I never received a clarifying response to my question - this is at 7pm and I still had to drive back to CT. I was then told they were going away for a week on a business trip and would not submit the dress for alterations until they returned. While they were away, I called the shop and confronted them about the statements regarding the cost of alterations and said that if they did not intend to honor the agreement, they needed to give me a refund and sell the dress to someone else. Katherina and I spoke when she returned a week later. Her side of the conversation was that I was wrong in my "bate & switch" suspicions - that they do not make money on the alterations. I stood my ground calmly AND respectfully. When the price came up in the conversation, I offered to go a little higher and to pay with cash. After this conversation on the matter, it appeared the dress would be altered in time and our difference of opinion on what had been said appeared to be settled. The dress was not finished until the week of the wedding - that Tuesday (the wedding was on Saturday). Well - when they did the alterations, they VANDALIZED the dress! They did not make the sides as tight as needed; they stuffed fabric in the zipper to shorten the zipper so I could no longer step into the dress - you had to put it on overhead; if you tried to make the sides tighter, it was difficult to get the dress on overhead; they pulled the chiffon away from the satin lining at the breast area; and the hem in the front and on the sides was all over the place - but the back of the hem was perfectly straight. They did everything they could to the dress to TRY to force me to pay someone else a fortune to fix the dress. Katherina didn't have the nerve to be there when I picked up the dress. Her mother was there and thought she would see me cry or get upset - I didn't give them the satisfaction. To try to make it look like they were doing me a kindness, they did not charge me for the VANDALISM of my dress. I took the dress, showed the Bride and one of her other friends what they had done to it, returned to CT, searched again for someone to do alterations, found one of God's angel's - a true entrepreneur and master at the craft of alterations, and had most of the VANDALISM repaired in ONE day for LESS than $79.00! Keep in mind that most women would not be comfortable buying accessories while the dress was not available. I had a picture of the dress in my phone so I could buy shoes & jewelry even though I don't have the dress. Part of this shop's SCAM is while they are holding onto your dress for long periods of time, they try to sell you shoes and jewelry and a purse and other items like undergarments. The only reason I did not file a complaint with the police is I had to get the dress fixed for the event and I only had three days to accomplish the repairs. I strongly feel they do to many people what they did to me and get away with it because people have to keep moving forward to make special event, prom or pageant deadlines. Another fact I discovered about this place is they know their stock is damaged. They HOPE that you don't see the damage until you buy the dress (by the way, all sales final). Then, they suck you in with the games of the repairs and the accessories. read more

Well then they have a dress style for you. One dress style. Literally just one style in multiple colors with few variations. Want to look at dresses? Well if you're over a size 8 you cannot be trusted to look at dresses. You must be escorted up stairs to look at one style of dress in various colors. But it's not like the escort will help you pick out and try on dresses. No no! You are quickly abandoned to look at one style of dress all on your own. So it's not like you were being escorted up so that you'd be with a person who is going to help you, they just don't trust you to walk up there on your own. Cool. I go to pay for it and there is a new sticker on it that was $30 more than the original sticker. I only hope that you will use this review as constructive criticism. I would give this place no stars! I visited the Salem location and ordered a dress there. The owners mother, who is in charge of the Salem location was very pushy and kept insisting on a dress that I did not want. She said she could order the one I wanted online and that it would be available this Friday. Friday came around, and my dress was not there and now they said it will take another week for my dress and I have to leave the country for a wedding that I had provided the date for. I called and spoke to the "owners mother" and she insulted, disrespected me and told me not to call the location again or I will have problems.This was by far the worst experience that I have ever had in any retail store. I had made a $150 payment towards the dress and do not want to ever, step foot in any glitterati location again. For future references, be respectful and cordial to your customers, especially when you were at fault. I will not recommend this location to anyone. read more

Very disappointing. I had called 10 days previous to going to the Danvers store, to see if they had the dress that my daughter had seen on the website. They said that they did, in 2 sizes and advised me to make an appointment for her to try it on. When we arrived and I said that we had an appointment to try that particular dress on, they didn't seem to know anything about it, then they looked at the photo I had printed and went off to look for it. 15 minutes later they said that they could only find one of the sizes, which didn't fit. They then proceeded to bring lots of different dresses (many of which my daughter didn't like) for her to try on. There was one dress that was nice but it was clearly a size too small. They kept saying how it fitted her perfectly and that she looked gorgeous in it. I asked if they had it in the next size and they said no but that this one was perfect - it wasn't. Anywhere that expects you to pay for a $600 dress that doesn't fit (OK, if it had been too big that would have been fine, but there wasn't enough fabric to fully cover my daughter!) isn't where I want to shop. Then the girl that had been helping us started hovering with a clipboard and seemed to think that we were buying it! When I said that we would go home and think about all the dresses, she tried to persuade us to buy one, then went to get a manager to try and talk us into it. When it was clear that we weren't going to, they asked us to put a deposit down (even though we hadn't found the perfect dress) and it was very uncomfortable for both myself and my daughter, who couldn't wait to get out of there. She has since found a beautiful dress (that actually fits her!) in Cache at the Natick Mall, where they were very helpful without being pushy. A very bad experience and I would hate to think that other people will be pressured into buying dresses that they aren't 100% happy with. read more

I recently got my FABULOUS Sherri Hill homecoming dress from Glitterati in Salem, and it was the best dress-buying decision I've ever made!! I also went to check out the Danvers location, which had an awesome selection as well! The dress itself was absolutely perfect and I got SO many compliments! I, of course, had to get matching jewelry, which the staff (especially Katherina) was overjoyed to help me with AND gave me a great deal! I got nervous at first, because the dress was a little gappy in certain spots, but thankfully they were able to tailor it on-site and I had it within a few days! It would be easy to get overwhelmed with the massive selection to choose from, but the personal shopping assistant they designated to me was extremely attentive and dedicated to finding me the designer homecoming dress of my dreams! I literally didn't even have to zip and unzip myself! I will DEFINITELY be buying all future formal wear from Glitterati! read more

First words to describe this experience was PUSHY. The Danvers location had many size options in an array of colors which was great. One of the women that was helping us was SO pushy! She couldn't give my daughter a second to even think and would ask excessively so you chose this one right? My daughter was like I haven't even seen myself in the mirror for a second yet to think. We put dresses aside to think about while trying other options on. When we got back to the dressing room, those dresses were gone. They restocked the dress in seconds and I was furious. If you want to make a sale, calm down!! and let the customer have a non-pressure experience where you can enjoy the experience and make good decisions. This being her senior prom, she left content with her final choices but annoyed she couldn't enjoy the experience more. For the prices of these dresses this experience should have been much better. Hesitant to come back with my other daughter in the next year or so unless the sales staff can improve their customer service. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. If you cannot afford a $300.+ dress and like to shop on your own (a.k.a to not have salespeople up your a** 24/7) do not shop here. I have never felt so uncomfortable shopping before. Most if not all of the sales girls are EXTREMLY RUDE AND FAKE. They will convince you to buy ANY of the dresses. It doesn't matter how absolutely ridiculous you make look in a dress, they will tell you it looks stunning. All sales are final and if you are even remotely concerned about the dress of your choosing, do not buy it or put down a deposit. I put down a deposit on a dress at the Glitterati Danvers location and I wasn't completely in love with the dress. When I tried to receive store credit, knowing they don't do returns or exchanges, I was given complete attitude by several employees. I am a very nice person and asked them for a store credit in a very polite way. I could not believe their response. There is no warmth in any of the sales people. They reminded me of rude robots who are only in it for the commission they receive on each sale. They definitely do not give a crap about their customers. My mother and I ended up asking for the manager, and he helped us receive a store credit and he was a very nice person. He seemed to be the only nice person working there. But I will NEVER shop their again and I will continuously tell anyone who will listen to NOT shop there (that is how uncomfortable I was). They DO NOT DESERVE to be in business. I encourage those who are looking for a prom dress to save their money and find a store that cares about their customers. A store that makes it their mission to make their customers feel comfortable. I, for one, walked out of Glitterati (in Danvers) shaking with uncomfortableness. Again, if you are reading this review and are just thinking "hey, she had a bad experience, lets still check it out!", I seriously encourage you to reconsider. I love Glitterati. I've purchased a few dresses here and all of the sales associates are really friendly. The dresses range from short homecoming dresses that are good for teens to elegant gowns that are appropriate for formals, weddings, or pageants. Katherina and Chris, the owners, are so friendly and want everyone to have a good shopping experience. They will go out of their way to make sure customers are happy. I've brought several friends here and they've purchased some gorgeous gowns. I also find Glitterati more affordable than some other formal dress stores in the area. read more

Poor, awful experience at Glitterati. My daughter bought her dress in January for prom. Only 6 stores in the country sold this "exclusive" dress they said. They claimed they would not sell the same dress to any other girl for the same school prom, but they did...twice. 3 exact dresses at prom, all sold from their store. The clerk selling the dress for the 3rd time did so knowing that it had already been sold for that event. Ignorance. Fortunately, my daughter wore it best at prom, but having to wear the same dress as 2 other girls when she purchased it first and was told it could not be repeated, was extremely disappointing. We still can't get straight answers from them. I would avoid Glitterati and go down the road and shop at The Ultimate. read more

If I could give this store no stars, I would. I drove almost an hour to Glitterati because of claims made by its website about its quality dresses. However, upon my arrival, I found the store to be chaotic, cramped, unorganized and unprofessional. I was greeted by young and untrained teenagers who look petrified of their verbally abusive boss. After waiting over an hour for a fitting room, I was placed in a cramped corner and rushed to try on dresses during which time I was HARASSED incessantly by a teenage sales associate who had the nerve to rip open the dressing room curtain after I told her for the 100th time that no, in fact I did not need help. The associates pressured the purchase of dresses I was not interested in and rushed me to relinquish my dressing room to the next girl in line. I would not recommend wasting your money at an establishment as mediocre and pathetic as this one. read more

I have never worked with a group of people that are ALL as rude as these individuals. They had no professionalism when communicating on the phone or via email. When I would call they would put me on hold without notice and leave me there for 5 - 6 minutes at a time only to come back to the phone that they would have to call me back. They treated me like my order ($300 worth of earrings) wasn't a priority and lied about the earrings being available to me within a few days. It took 6 weeks to receive my order when I was promised by management that it would only take around a week. Poor experience. I will never purchase another item from these jerks. I would rather pay double and buy from someone in the South who has some manners. read more

There is an overwhelming abundance of dresses to choose from but the customer service is really bad. I came in the store and told the lady at the front that I was a size 6. She automatically said "no you're an 8" and sent me upstairs. That was kind of rude considering the fact that I know my own dress size. Once I went upstairs I tried on a few dresses that were ok but asked the women helping me for a certain dress I seen on the rack and she brought me a completely different one and basically forced me to try it on. I told her I did not like that one but she insisted. When I finally found the right dress and was ready for checkout, the girl put all my info in the computer and printed out a receipt. I read the receipt and all my info was wrong. I would not advise you to go here unless you know exactly what dress you want with the dress number and size, even then they might not even have it. I wish it was possible to give our experience a higher rating than 5 stars. Coming from North Central Mass. and driving to Danvers is a hike. However this was "the store" the one that my daughter and her friends wanted to look for their prom dresses at. I went along and we had a great experience on a Sunday. Was it busy yes. Were the associates able to handle it seamlessly, yes. We bought "the dress". My 17 year old daughter could not have been more thrilled. Imagine going to school Monday and finding out in a Junior class of just 55 one of your classmates has the same dress. I was worried when I called. The receipt is firm, no refunds, no exchanges. I explained what happened and the owner Christopher Wood would have none of that. Glitterati is known for their policy of not selling the same dress to more than one girl for the same event. It was a mistake on all of our parts. Neither of us said this was a combined prom for the Jr and Sr class, therefore it was entered incorrectly. None the less, Chris had us come in for a private appointment and treated my shy daughter as if she was a princess at the ball. The sales associates were exceptional, Katherina Mena who I believe to be a manager as well as two other associates treated my daughter and myself as if we were the only people in New England to purchase a dress from them. My daughter felt like she was on Say Yes To The Dress. The level of professionalism, courtesy, and understanding was like nothing I've dealt with before. I will purchase from this store again and I will tell everyone that they need to get in the car and take the drive to Danvers. It is worth it. There is no way you can leave this store without your perfect dress they have everything AND it is organized!!! Fantastic experience!!! read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. Although the store has a wide variety of dresses, the customer service is horrific. We drove almost an hour to this store after hearing about the wide range of styles, etc. Upon arriving, we were sent to the top floor of this store which was extremely crammed and had no room to move around. My sister was then placed in a dressing room where she was only allowed to have a certain amount of dresses. The lady who was so called "assisting" us was one of the rudest people I have ever met. She would not let anyone in the room except for her and my sister and would rarely let us see the dresses on my sister. She basically kept telling my sister how things didn't look good on her body type or that she needs to try larger sizes. There were a few times my sister asked for help zippering dresses and the lady would shoo us away and yell at us to stop bringing dresses to her. This lady was in absolutely no place to judge on size or what looked good on different body types. Worst experience ever. Whatever you do do not go here, there are plenty of other stores in the area that have just as good a selection and way better customer service. read more
