I have enjoyed the food and ambiance at the Glenside Pub since 1983. Kevin the bartender is still there, after all these years. The food is superior to anywhere else. They serve a full menu for lunch and dinner. Our favorite is the Pub Club sandwich and Harp on tap. Even my kids (ages 9 and 15) are fans of the Pub (but they drink milk!) . The Pub recently went totally SMOKELESS which is awesome! Only 15 minutes from my house and my job. Parking is usually easy to find, either on Easton Road, a side street or the lot next door. The nearborhood is your basic "Main Street" . There is no reason to spend money on gas when this gem is so close. I have never been served a bad meal or had a surly experience. I was going to go to the Glenside Pub tonight with my son before dropping him off at Arcadia after Christmas break. I've been to the Pub for lunch on several occasions and thought it would be a nice stop before saying goodbye. The food was always good enough. After reading the reviews about the bartender with a nasty attitude and a waitress who favors locals, forget it. I also noticed that the owners don't care enough about their establishment to claim their business on Yelp! which probably means they could give a rip about the reviews. Also, if you can't nail a decent snapper soup, you can't cook. In support of those who were treated so rudely by the bartender, I'll never go back here again. Heading to McNally's instead. read more

This place has no off street parking, it's next to a municipal lot that's full 80% of the time, it's old, still has paneling on the walls, and the average customer is probably over 40. That being said, I love it! They have good food, a great draft beer selection, and they pour a proper pint of Guinness! It's definitely a locals bar where people sit in the same seats every week. I recommend the hot roast beef w/ cheese, known as a HBC. You won't get into a fight, have to yell over loud music, etc. It's a laid back Irish pub full of middle class locals. read more

Not been there for years but recently stopped by and happy to see it's still owned by the same couple. Food is still great. World's best chicken salad and something called the Thompson, which is named after the former owner - a hot roast beef sandwich to die for. They added space and now have a dining room but the regulars still hang at the bar. Inside looks like an Irish village with quaint signs, banners and doo dads hanging throughout. More family traffic than I remember, with some college kids too. Perfect before or after a concert at the keswick theater since it is only a short ride away - a long walk if youre in shape for it. Cant ask for more from a neighborhood tavern. read more

A great local business that has been in operation for 50 years, 39 under current ownership. Great staff, amazing and varied beer selection, and solid pub-style food. The pub easily and graciously handled our party of 9 in their back dining area. All-in-all, a great place to take the family for a low-key meal, or to grab a unique drink. Highly recommended. The Pub is a longtime favorite to just about anyone that lives in the Glenside area. It gives you the old-fashioned Pub feel, while introducing many new options such as an impressive craft beer selection. This place is at best ok. Food is mediocre. Menu doesnt change, beer list stinks. Actually, there isnt a beer list. Just whatever beers an Irish bar is supposed to have. This place is simply coasting on a reputation. A reputation for what, I dont know. The service is good enough. Maybe that is how it survives. It would be nice if it closed down and the menu got a re-vamp. Its just so damned parochial. Its sort of a Glenside landmark. Whatever. Does that actually do anything for you? Pretty much every person that goes there is like 90 years old. They will die. Then who goes there? They are going to need to change. Business isnt going to remain steady. Why would a young person want to go to the Glenside Pub? Its an old person bar. Its a bar for people whose most eclectic taste is a grilled cheese and guiness. There isnt anything wrong with grilled cheese and Guiness, but the place has no edge. I hope someday they change. read more

Twice we have been here and had rude waitesses. The first time the manager said he knew she could be rude and have is gift certificate to give then another chance. This latest time the waitress said she wouldn't write down that I wanted be fries well done cause the usually were. I waitresses for years and you write down what a customer wants. I asked if they had hard cider, she said they would have to ask. About 20 minutes layer I asked again, she said that she had to wait for the bartender to come bank. Did i still want to know. I said yes and she said did I really want one. After it brought to the tackle it tasted bad. Not sweet at all. I tried to ask for a Blue moon. But this waitress walked away before I could ask. We were they for about an hour and a half and then were ask to move to the bar even thought it was filled. As this is a pub i would think that people would be able to stay and talk. If you wanted us to but more they should have been m more attentive. When I tried to talk to management about being asked to move he kept saying he couldn't understand what happened. We my sister tried to spell to him with out shouting he accused her of trying to hit him. The waitress did the same to me. Would never go there again. read more

I've been going to the Glenside Pub on and off since 1981. After last Saturday I'd never go back. The waitress didn't know the specials, and asked if we really wanted to hear the specials. After waiting for our food for an hour I talked to the manager, who told my party of six, including a grandmother and children, that we hadn't really been there for an hour and suggested that we could leave if we didn't like it. He also said that we had complaining since we sat down. Well, we hadn't been, but we sure are now. And he was right about the time. We had been for over an hour. The table behind us had been turned over twice. We left. Then the manager told us he hadn't said any of the things that he'd said. It's a shame to see a place go so far downhill. read more

Glenside Pub is a neighborhood icon. Ive been going there for years. The food is a convenience to complement the bar experience. Few go here for the food. You go there to see your friends and have a drink. A neighborhood Irish bar is not the place to go for a green salad. When i do eat, my faves are the Irish fries, the chicken salad and the Thompson hot beef sandwich (which is not as good as Ye Old Beef & Ale roast beef in Lafayette Hill but the Pub is not disgustingly dirty like that place). Pub staff is cordial and I have not had trouble with attitude. The host Dave is a comedy show and worth the visit. I recommend seats in the bar booths. The side room is like having seats in the outfield. I have never been there for their occasional live music nights. read more

My dad is Irish and likes this place--whenever my uncles come to visit they usually hang out here. Otherwise, it's ok--beer is plentiful, food not bad for bar fare. Since the Blue Comet closed, this is the next best place to go in Glenside. read more

The Glenside Pub remains the place that you can run into multiple generations of pub goers. It is the kind of place where by the end of the evening, you talk to everyone around you. The bartenders are very friendly, and the waitresses are local Glensiders. If you live in the 19038 area, you are sure to know someone at the Pub. The menu is good Irish food. Don't expect a fancy/trendy entree, but you can look forward to the best roast beef sandwich in town. read more

Glenside Pub - had a nice St. Patty's Day dinner and a few micro-brews (micro-beer selection has nicely increased at Glenside Pub). Place was packed - service was friendly and extremely efficient, considering the amount of people in there on 3/17/13. Waitress added a special treat - when we asked for more Irish soda bread, she was absolutely accommodating - No Extra Charge - and sent us home with a few pieces for a family member who couldn't come out with us - sweet gesture on a day when so many others are "too busy" waiting on customers. Unfortunately the Pub has been in a slow downward trend over the past year or two. Three years ago the Glenside Pub was a great place to to grab a beer and a sandwich for lunch and also, depending on the cook, grab a nice dinner entree and a glass of wine at a reasonable price. However lately the food suffers at lunch and dinner, it appears the cook has changed a couple of times. While the owners are on site frequently, the menu has not been updated in some time. The food quality is also suffering. Long term wait staff are not responsive and you are not treated in the best customer service manner possible. One server is unbearable and is a complete turn off with respect to her attitude. My wife and I used to deal with the crowds on the weekend because the food was worth the wait. Now the Glenside Pub is nothing special, we have moved on to the other neighborhood venues that offer what the pub used to. Note: we did give the pub a couple of visits before we stopped going there completely, sadly no change. Also on the weekend the wait for a booth can be 1-2 hours and frequently you have to make sure you are seated in the right order. On more than one ocassion we were passed over. Good luck if you visit the Glenside Pub maybe your visit will be ok. read more
