Glenora Wine Cellars offers a large tasting room with a wide variety of excellent wines. The property also features a restaurant and inn that take advantage of the gorgeous views of Seneca Lake. It is a highlight of any wine tour in the area. read more

A must stop every time I'm up at the lake. They pair cheese with their tastings and there is a wide range of styles, sweetness, etc... Plus the view is gorgeous. You won't be disappointed read more

I have only been to Glenora for tasting events; very crowded and popular during the events. At Christmas they have gorgeous Christmas trees in their large tasting room. Wines vary from dry pinots to grapey niagras to ultra fruity to sparkling. The food samples they offer during events are always some of the best on the seneca trail. read more

We had a very quick bite to eat at the restaurant down below and paid $27 for the smallest cheese board I've ever eaten. We went to the wine tasting room and stood in line for ten minutes to not even be greeted. People were being stamped like they were going to a dance club. The guy stamping them had a pus on his face and was rude. Never got a chance to taste anything because we walked out frustrated and annoyed. We will never return! read more

I have been to both the wine tasting room and the restaurant. Both were enjoyable, but not great. The winery serves a cheese pairing with each wine tasting, which I enjoy, although the wines were of medium quality. The restaurant serves mostly sandwiches for lunch, and the sandwiches are more unique than your typical sandwich, but nothing to write home about. Still, if you're in the area and hungry, this is a nice place to stop and eat and enjoy their great view of the lake from the dining room. read more

Remedial food, mediocre wine, and even worse customer service. Glenora is a carnation disguised as a rose. Trying way to hard to be more than it actually is. Don't waste your time. read more

I just wanted to write a review about the hostess, Sabrina. I was there for a wedding last weekend, and my shoe broke right before the ceremony was supposed to start. She overheard me asking for solutions from the front desk and as I was walking away with rubber bands tied around the strap of my shoe to hold it together, she generously offered her new, only worn once shoes that just happened to be in her car, so I'd have shoes to wear to the ceremony. I am still so grateful for her generosity. I can honestly say that the customer service at this place is top-notch. The wine was also excellent, and it was a beautiful place for a wedding. Thank you Sabrina, for your amazing service, and Glenora for the incredible venue. read more

Beautiful property and lots of variety of wines. Wasn't my favorite.

My fiancee and I came here for a weekend-we stayed at the inn, tried the winery and went to the restaurant. The winery is a pretty good size and very sophisticated looking. They have these awesome lit trees with wine bottles which was really unique. Glenora also has one of the best views you'll find in the area. There are windows all around and you're elevated so it's super beautiful. They have a vast menu of wines to taste even ones in astropaks! They let you try 6--fyi if you stay at the inn you get a complimentary tasting. We were also given about 3 cheeses to taste between the wine tasting. Overall, a fun winery to go to. They also offer private tastings and tours of the winery. read more

Great wines. Great cheeses. I definitely recommend it for wine tastings! They had a pretty extensive wine list to choose from. The view from this winery is unbelievably beautiful. read more

We attended a wine tasting at Glenora Winery as part of my sister's wedding. Overall, I liked 3 of the wines that I sampled. Their ice wine is probably the best of the 10 or so wines that I had. We did not have a cheese or food pairing with the wine, but we did sample the mulling spices later and those were quite nice as well. I am only giving it a three out of five because we did sample quite a number of wines and the overall feeling was that there should have been more popular wines in the tasting. read more

We ate at the veraisions restaurant and it was ok,, my smoked Cuban sandwich was soggy and the side of potato chips were bland and hard. The cheese sampler was the only thing that was good. read more

I really enjoyed the tasting here. I do agree with Catherine that the person doing the tasting was NOT a wine expert. He seemed to like beer better himself; but he was a local and friendly enough. The $2 tasting is quite fun, and they give some interesting food pairings like an olive cheese and yummy croutons. They let you taste 7 wines, and I'm sure you could sneak another one in there if you felt like it. I ended up really enjoying their Cayuga White (mixed at Cornell) and also their Strawberry wine.... Jammin' Red, it's called... sort of a sweet red that is good for sangria. I would recommend this place, its gorgeous view, and its tastings to anyone on the trail. read more

The Finger Lakes region has a thriving wine industry. It is becoming one of the better wine producing regions in the United States. Glenora is one of the better wineries in the region. It offers a great wine tasting cellar, a comfortable inn and a solid restaurant that offers simple foods with high quality ingredients that are mostly locally sourced. It is also 15 minutes from Watkjns Glen and 45 minutes from Ithaca. If you are visiting the Finger Lakes region, I highly recommend this place! read more

They have a lot of wines to choose from, and if you are tasting here then you are sure to feel a bit confused and overwhelmed with choices. The wines are a bit on the sweeter side, and the fruit wines were quite unique. read more

Really nice selection of wines and a cute gift shop. We enjoyed our tasting, the first guy we had wasn't very talkative but then another woman took over and she was great. read more

Pretty view from tasting room. Tasting went the extra step to offer a few cheese pairings with our wine. Wines were nice but not over the top for our taste. Host was friendly and accommodating. read more

Make this one of your stops on the winery tour. Great staff! (cashier could have been a little friendlier). Great products. Little pricey, but taste is worth it. You will have a short wait during busy weekend times. read more

Super friendly staff and very knowledgable. The wine tasting was very nice and affordable. I will definitely be coming back here again soon.

This place has a restaurant, hotel (which appears nice but did not stay there), tastings, a selection of local cheese, and other touristy items of interest. They do have a few nice wines, and a huge selection of sweet fruity wines if thats your thing. Overall it's not a bad stop but just very average. read more

We had a group of 8 with 1 person that has never been there on a very slow day and the employees were extremely not accommodating. We all felt very uncomfortable and insulted with the way we were treated. There was a male employee that was extremely rude. We will never go back again. GO TO HERON WINERY INSTEAD THEY WERE WAY BETTER. read more

We stopped here yesterday as part of the Wine and Cheese event on the trail. The tasting room has a nice view and good atmosphere. They had delicious food and their tastings were generous. I've lived in California for many years and typically I find NY wines too sweet. However, some of the wines at this winery were pretty good. I particularly liked the Dry Riesling. read more

I have been here a couple times now, and this is easily one of the most beautiful properties on Seneca Lake. On the latest trip, our $2 tasting was given by one of the two owners of the vineyard, who was obviously extremely knowledgable about every aspect of the wine and the operation. We really enjoyed the wine, and we always end up buying several bottles. In addition, they sell a range of locally-produced goodies, such as cheeses and jams and all that other stuff that I love. Very highly recommended. read more

Glenora has a large selection of wines. We tasted a numerous amount of wines. We are not Riesling fans but they did have the best of what we tasted and we actually bought one! Their Cayuga white is pretty good too - the guy behind the tasting table was very knowledgeable about the grapes and their details. The Cab Sauv and Meritage were definitely my favorites and I brought some home! read more

Definitely one of the more well known and more publicized wineries on the FInger Lakes and I agree one of the most beautiful. There is a reason this winery is always busy...the wine is spectacular and the view is amazing. Try their Dry Riesling and their Gewurztraminer during your wine tasting adventure. Their desert wines are quite yummy as well. Though this area is known for their Riesling, Glenora's Rieslings are high above their other Finger Lake competitors and are to die for! I have visited here at least three or four times and have never had a bad experience. I would assume this would be a beautiful place to have a wedding or wedding reception for the right price. They have an Inn and a restaurant there too! It could make the perfect weekend getaway...again for the right price. read more

I came to Glenora when attending a business meeting in Watkins Glen. Our group began with a wine tasting, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We sampled six different wines, having the choice of dry or sweet in all tastings. The sommelier was knowledgable and friendly. Many in our group were not big into wine, but she did not make anyone feel silly or uneducated. Tastings were paired with some yummy cheeses, which was an excellent marketing tehniqe as it made me want to purchase several! I stuck with the dry wines, and several were good. I enjoyed the dry riesling enough to purchase a bottle to bring home with me. Following the tasting, we walked down the hill to the adjoining restaurant to have dinner and drinks on the outdoor patio. WOW, what a view! Before visiting Watkins Glen, I honestly had no idea how beautiful it is. The patio overlooks Seneca Lake. The trees on the other side of the lake were starting to turn for the fall (visited the first week of October), and the weather was perfect in the low 70s. What a truly, truly beautiful environment. I could tell that the menu at the restaurant is seasonal and changes regularly. I had the smoked apple and cheddar soup, which was simply amazing, and the braised rabbit parsnip papardelle. the rabbit was tender, and the sause was full of so many interesting flavors. It was truly a treat! The service was a little slow, but we were a large group and were enjoying drinks and conversation so it didn't matter. I would rather wait for terrific food. Additionally our server was willing to accomodate our MANY special requests with a smile. Overall experience was excellent. Nothing negative I could tind to say if I tried. read more

Ok wines. Service was so so. Girl pouring really didn't know her wines or even how to pronounce them. Felt like more they were trying to get people in and out quick than offering a true tasting experience. read more

I stopped here based on the wines offered. I was disappointed with the service I received. The couple next to us received a complementary cheese pairing with their wine, and we were not offered the same service. I tasted tiny pours of wines which were fine, with okay service from an employee that seemed to just be there for the money. As I was walking around I noticed there was a watermelon wine. I wanted to try it and I walked back up to the tasting bar and asked if I could sample the watermelon because I hadn't noticed it on the list( I apologized because I knew I had made the error) I would have been willing to pay for my additional sip. Other wineries don't tend to mind if you would like an extra sample, but here it is apparently a big no no. The woman rolled her eyes at me and reluctantly poured me a sample of the watermelon wine. I ended up loving it and buying 2 bottles. The wines are the only small saving grace here. Service was downright rude. I don't appreciate someone rolling their eyes at me. read more

5/5 stellar performance from our handsome server Erik. Had a large group and he knew how to handle us.

Today I want to Glenora Wine Celler with my mom It was amazing. It had great service. Our server looked very happy and give off a great vibes. Also the scenery was amazing. read more

So I make a reservation at the restaurant at least a week ahead for our 30th anniversary. I make a specific point that we wish to be seated on the main dining room with the view. We have company from out of town who have never been to the Finger Lakes. They accept the reservation then wait to call the day before to say they have a wedding scheduled and can't seat us there, there is another smaller dining room on the first floor. We will go somewhere else. read more

We had a wonderful experience at the tasting bar. Kalene was our guide through our tasting journey. She offered many different suggestions to get my and my partner to find the best wine to fit both our tastes. read more

I was in a wedding here a few years ago and had a pretty great experience there so when I went there recently with my family I thought it would be fine. We arrived at the Restaurant between lunch and dinner so it was the "Lounge Menu offered," which was no problem for us but the staff seemed as if we were a huge inconvenience to them. The food was nothing to rave about, far better at other places. Customer service was horrible, not a good place for families and I won't ever go there again. Don't waste your time here. read more

If you're looking for big corporate wineries then this is your place. They even have a security guard man to make sure no one gets to rowdy. We stopped in, used the bathroom and honestly walked right back out. It's just not the place you want to be when you're out in the countryside amidst a beautiful lake. It's like a Target of wineries (I'd say Walmart but, the prices aren't that cheap). read more

Every time I'm here it reminds me why I'm not too fond. The wines aren't anything special and I've never received few sky service very "here are your tastings thanks have a great day" attitude. If you come for an event be expected to be bearded through and given bet minimal attention. Their port however was probably the only redeeming thing. read more

My family and I were having a fantastic day on a wine tour until we stopped here. The gentleman who seats you for a tasting was beyond rude. When we walked up he was sour and grumpy and told us we couldn't all go together as a party of six until there was room. No big deal we thought and he told us to wait right next to him so we wouldn't hold up the line. Wouldn't you know another woman comes to help and takes a group of 8 that were behind us! I asked him what he was doing since we were next and he told us that we stepped out of line and lost our spot. I was so frustrated since he was the one who told us to wait out of line, next to him for a spot to open. And we're were less than 3 feet from him as it all happened! We even got back in line, waited and asked him why he did that and he was such a jerk. The winery had a beautiful view but unfortunately that's where it ends. I can't report on the wine, since we were unable to even get a taste. And if you're thinking we were a drunken, wild group - trust me that was not the case. I have never left a negative review but his actions and the way he spoke to us was very disrespectful. read more

Really nice views of Seneca Lake from the property and a very good restaurant on site. I would definitely recommend the restaurant for its quality food at a reasonable price with really nice lake views. My 3-star rating is for the winery, which was far too touristy for my liking (think hordes of tour buses coming through) and very cheesy wine names. read more

We didn't originally plan to come here, but we got to wine country earlier than we expected to and not many other nearby wineries opened up before 11. The tasting room wasn't very crowded when we arrived. We sampled a dozen of their wines (mostly dry) and they were all quite good, including the reds which seem to be hit or miss in the Finger Lakes. Our server was very friendly and gave us little cheese samples between wines, which was a nice touch even though the cheeses didn't complement the wines well. read more

Best fruit wines out there! 4 stars because it's a little too pricey for me, and I always have a hard time getting tasting service when I'm there. read more
