Scott is a great teacher. He has always emphasized the fundamentals such as keeping great time and groove, working diligently with a metronome, and being competent at reading music, all while being very encouraging and helpful (and funny too). Scott is highly proficient at all styles of drumming - rock, jazz, Latin, funk, orchestral, rudimental, you name it. He's a gigging drummer and does studio work so he knows the business side as well. Scott is one of the few people that was a protégé of master drum teacher Richard Wilson (who himself learned from Murray Spivak). Richard was "The Guy" professionals in LA went to get lessons from to better their technique. So Scott is an authority on teaching rudiments in a way that has you be relaxed, yet able to play with great speed and clarity. It's one thing to be able to learn Richard's technique, it's a whole other animal to be able to teach it. I have spent lots of time working with Scott on Richard's progression of rudiments. It is invaluable to any serious drummer. Besides being a great drummer and teacher, Scott's a great guy and if you stick around as long as me, a life long friend too. I highly recommend his lessons.

My son and daughter have been taking piano lessons here for nearly a year. The setup at this studio…read moreis that parents wait outside in the waiting room while the children go in with the teacher. There are cameras in the lesson rooms, but parents do not have access to them, only the business owner does. Occasionally, I would sit in with my children, but later I was asked to remain in the waiting room as the teacher felt the kids distracted each other. Recently, a very concerning incident occurred. My son told me that during his lesson, his teacher showed him an image to demonstrate "good posture." When he first described it to me, I wasn't sure what kind of picture it was, and I initially gave the teacher the benefit of the doubt. However, when I later asked Miss Lee (the owner) and the teacher to show me the same image, I was shocked to see what it was. The picture had no real connection to piano playing or posture and, in my opinion, was completely inappropriate in the given context, especially considering it was shown to my son alone in a room with his male teacher. To be clear, the photo itself was not offensive on its own. What made this troubling was the context and lack of relevance to piano instruction. I felt it crossed a boundary of professionalism. I brought this issue directly to both the owner and the teacher on Friday, August 29th, and was told that it would be reviewed with their board. I am sharing this so that other parents are fully informed about the environment and practices here. Every parent has the right to decide what they are comfortable with for their child's lessons, and for me, this situation raised serious concerns.

My son grew so confident thanks to Nick who encouraged him so much. As parents, you could most definitely sit-in on with your child during lessons. It's a choice you make as a parent to wait in the lobby is sit with your child. There are cameras in every classroom. It feels safe and comfortable environment. That has been my own personal experience here.

From the very beginning, Ms. Nina has been patient, is always so encouraging and genuinely invested in helping, not only my daughter, but every single one of her students, adult or child! It's 's been so beautiful to watch her become more comfortable and confident every time she plays. This is thanks to Ms. Nina, for creating a positive and welcoming environment where her students feel comfortable and brave enough to keep thriving! I truly appreciate the dedication, professionalism, care and love that she puts into each lesson and each student. It's clear that Ms. Nina loves what she does and I feel very fortunate to have found such an inspiring piano teacher for my daughter. My son started with his very first recital song, Jingle Bells, and over the years he has performed in six recitals, progressing all the way to his most recent performance--a KPop Demon Hunters song that he played as a duet with another 8-year-old. That experience was especially meaningful for helping him develop his timing and learn to play collaboratively. What we appreciate most is how Ms Nina has always met him where he is. She is kind, patient, encouraging, and has supported him as he has progressed through different levels while keeping piano fun and exciting. She also has various methods to keep piano engaging. Her fun summer activities give the kids something different to look forward to and help keep their enthusiasm for music going. The work she puts into each recital is inspiring. Be aware.. this guy Warren edited his response to choose nicer words because it showed how egotistical he comes off! Eek, big red flag to stay away!! His first response to my review was not so friendly for being a business owner and offering piano services to families with children. OMG! He appears he wants to fill his spots and even if you are already reserved a date and cant respond to his virtual assistant within 48 hours, he will say we will move onto another student. He is not apologetic, not sincere, not PATIENT and not understanding. Just say sorry, but instead he is now rude and so now he had to revise his response here since it will scare other families away! My original yelp review: Mess with my family or mess with my time.. this is a good way to to get to a bad start with me. This is exactly what Mr. Warren and his 'personal virtual assistant' Michel did. He messed with my time. He disappointed me and most importantly my daughter. - was on vacay for our anniversary in Italy - booked the payment they wanted while on my vacay, told them a date for a consult while on my vacay. took the afternoon off for the consult when we are back - booked the first piano lesson and my daughter was so excited to start piano with an instructor with amazing yelp reviews. - day of consult I get an email saying this isnt going to work out. The assistant Michel did not hear from me via email x2 days and Mr. Warren said this isnt going to work out and just dropped us and said they are moving on to the next. Oooouu, I was pissed. We were planning for her lesson and the consult. Wow.. no phone call, just a quick email. And I hate communicating over emails when it comes to discussing certain services. Michel should have called me. I am not buying a product, I am looking for piano mentorship for my children. And if Warren isnt nice and cordial with me, how much more would I trust my kids with this guy. I had to break the news to my daughter this piano teacher is not interested in helping us with piano lessons. Never met this guy, dont want to now. He seems to have an ego based on his emails. Please change Michels title to personal assistant instead of personal virtual assistant. Thats not an insult. We were treated like sorry you cant respond ASAP within 2 days, lets move on to another family. Found this guy on Yelp.. so thats why Im leaving a review back here on Yelp. Not all yelp reviews are true so I hope this helps another family if anyone goes through this or is deciding to start with this place. When I find a good piano teacher and studio.. Ill leave my recommendation here.
