Music was blasting throughout the festival, creating a fun atmosphere, but be prepared for long lines for both ordering and food pickup. Most vendors were cashless and accepted credit cards, Zelle, or Venmo, although some did take cash. A few vendors even made the long trek down from the Bay Area. The biggest challenge was definitely the heat. It was a hot day, and the event could have used more shaded areas. Lots of people gathered around the tables to cool off, while others were there to actually eat. The food was okay overall, but I'm hoping to try the BBQ next time around. My favorite was the Mango Crumble halo-halo from D Baker's Lab--definitely worth trying! Prices can add up quickly, so I'd recommend going with friends and sharing dishes. That way, you can sample more without spending a small fortune. Heads up: the sticky rice line was REALLY long. If you're driving, bring a cooler with plenty of water. You'll save money on drinks and, more importantly, stay hydrated while you're out in the heat. Overall, a fun free event with plenty of food, shopping, music, and mango-filled treats. Just come prepared for the heat and the lines!

The best part was that this entire event was free, which was a pleasant surprise considering how much I've spent to see anything Phantom of the Opera related in the past. The screening featured appearances by the great grand daughter of Lon Chaney, the actor who played the Phantom, as well as the composer of the evening's score, Scott Lasky. This was such a nice surprise by the theater, and I'm amazed at the effort put into a free event. (Still waiting to see a theater [safely] recreate the famous chandelier scene). The theater is also owned by the city of La Mirada, so it's nice to see the city investing in making arts more accessible for the public. The theater was clean and tidy inside, and the seats felt spacious compared to other theaters. The venue staff were friendly and efficient, and actively managed the bathroom ques to keep it flowing quickly, which I had never seen before but wish more venues implemented. Parking was spacious and plentiful, as the theater sits in a plaza and has a shared lot with other restaurants and a gym. I will definitely be looking to come back to the La Mirada theater for future screenings or productions.

That's when he stumbled upon a free community event hosted by the La Mirada Symphony and La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. Not only was this such a thoughtful gesture on his part, but it also turned out to be a really lovely evening with lots of interesting twists! This was actually my first time watching a silent film, and it made me realize there were a lot more film versions of Phantom of the Opera than I originally thought. The film we saw was the 1925 version directed by Rupert Julian, accompanied by the La Mirada Symphony performing a newly compiled score that followed the film scene by scene. As a Phantom fan, I thought this was such an incredibly unique way to experience a classic. Outside of the people lucky enough to be in that auditorium that evening, who else can honestly say they've been able to bask in such an eclectic silent film experience, backed by a live orchestra bringing all the drama to life? Not many people, I'll tell you that much. And the best part of the silent film was the subtitles, hahahaha. +1 for accessibility, forever and always! And don't even get me STARTED on the unexpected celebrity guest appearances because I'm still shooketh. Tell me how I blinked and all of a sudden, the great-granddaughter of Lon Chaney was there in person, pulling raffle tickets during intermission and announcing the winners of the giveaway baskets. THEN composer Scott Lasky himself showed up on stage at the end to take a bow. Both were such unexpected surprises, and I definitely did NOT anticipate becoming part of movie history lore that night because that was highkey pretty wild. I should also mention that this entire community event was 100% free. Admission was free, and we didn't have to reserve tickets or seats ahead of time. Parking was also free because the theatre shares a lot with UFC Gym, Wendy's, and a bunch of other businesses, so there was no need to stress about finding parking or paying for it. The show was pretty packed, but we arrived early and managed to snag decent middle seats just a few rows from the front of the stage. Big ups to the venue staff, too. They kept everything running smoothly and in an incredibly orderly fashion, from getting everyone into the auditorium to efficiently managing the restroom queues. For such a packed-out event, everything felt like a well-oiled machine. The entire experience was very buttoned-up, and I was genuinely impressed. Between the live orchestral score, the unexpected special guests, and the fact that this entire experience was at no cost to attend, this was such a memorable evening. Huge thanks to the La Mirada Symphony and La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts for putting together such a wonderful community event celebrating the arts and keeping theatre alive. I'm already looking forward to coming back for future musical and play productions!

I've have seen a lot of live theatre what happened at the Carpenter Center is the last straw. Goodbye live theatre. First the Actors, Actress, and Musicians. Thank you for sharing your talents. As a person who can miss all the notes all the time, I truly appreciate your talents and abilities. I hold the Producers and Directors responsible for the Show. As for the Carpenter Center, Musical Theatre West, and other places and production companies. I'm done. When you advertise you are doing "Joesph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" or any other production this is what I expect to see. If you are making a new adaption of the play, let everyone know before they spend their hard-earned money. This visual experience is part of the performance. Your new adaption was for the most part very poor. As my mother of 85 said, "I kept closing me eyes hoping it would change." I laughed, yet never having been to a "Chip and Dale" review it's the only thought that came to my mind to describe what was being presented. Last note Bruno Mars is not a King, sorry, a very disappointing part of the performance. You didn't want Elvis okay, then use a King... Michael Jackson, the king of pop or James Brown the king of Soul. I just love the Pharaoh as Evlis.

I said no and that I prefer a refund. Their response was I'm sorry we're not providing refunds. If they understand what the term donations means, it means it's something voluntary not forced. On top of that I bought 10 tickets to the show because we had to otherwise they charge a hefty amount and a penalty. Also no refund is given. I ask if the tickets will still be used for the show. They said no! You'll have to buy more tickets. Like stealing $500+ wasn't enough for them. Then to find out there's no show and they have a new show going on with a new cast. Don't waste your time or money because if another shut down occurs, you'll never see your money again. They are horrible people and thrives. Will never recommend them to anyone!

They have about 4 or 5 performances throughout the day but my advice is to get there early if you want a good seat. If the show has a start time of 1PM we would typically start waiting in line at around 12PM. Even then you probably won't be the first people in line but you will still get a good seat. Once the line starts getting long they start making people go up the ramp and start making line up there. Be aware if you start going up your whole party must be with you as they will not let anyone go up that is left downstairs. Be aware that in this are you must fill in all the empty space. People do try to cut to get to the front so just be aware of that. Once they open the doors you enter from all the way up top unless you are handicapped then you are let in downstairs. You can choose to sit up top which is still a nice view but if you want to be up close you will need to make your way down all the stairs to make it to the front. As far as the show for the 2024 season they did change it up and make a just a little bit more modern which I loved. The performers all did an amazing job and of course we all love seeing the peanuts characters perform on ice. It was a great show and I hope they keep it the same next year or if they do change it I hope it is for the better. I do miss the summer show that they used to put on in this theatre. I'm not sure why they got rid of it but I hope they bring it back one day. If you come here during the holidays this is a must see show for all ages.

Tourists gain entry…read moreto Knott's Berry Farm and experience major adrenaline rushes when riding Knott's roller coasters. However during the months of November through the first week in January, there's and added treat: Snoopy on Ice. You do not have to pay an extra fee to watch this performance as it is included in the price of admission. Located in the southwest corner of Knotts' property is The Charles M. Schulz Theater. Showtimes vary depending upon the day of the week so be sure to pick up a schedule as you enter the park. It is not uncommon to see a long line stretching around the corner or to arrive 20 minutes prior to showtime only to discover that the arena is full. I highly recommend that you arrive 40 minutes to one hour before showtime to secure a seat. Once seated inside, the fun begins. The skating rink seems rather small but a lot is accomplished within this space. Charlie Brown and Linus will open the show, reviewing the rules for watching the performance: ex. no flash photography or video recording. Throughout the performance, you'll notice some religious undertones as recalled by Linus. A bit of a historical/patriotic tribute also takes center stage as figure skaters reenact scenes of soldiers returning from war in the 1940s. The music played in the background compliments each scene. It's absolutely beautiful! Snoopy is the star of the show and he is able to execute each move with ease. He never ignores the audience, often coming to three points on the stage (left, center, and right side) so that audience members can take photos during the performance. Snow (soap foam) falls from the ceiling to imitate snowfall during the winter season. Professional ice skaters perform moves effortlessly just like some of the best Olympians. The combination of talented professionals and Snoopy results in an unforgettable show that appeals to people of all ages from various walks of life. The most awe-inspiring/emotional part of the show is when Snoopy awaits the arrival of doves that fly toward him and land on the stage. Some might be startled as the doves fly over their heads, but it's truly a magical moment. Snoopy on Ice is a show that should not be missed if you are at Knott's Berry Farm during the winter months. Who doesn't enjoy watching trained professionals perform in an intimate setting with the help of "America's Favorite Beagle"? Merry Christmas Snoopy is a beautiful, uplifting performance that the entire family will enjoy.
