This is my go to spot for a synthetic oil change. The boss of this place is an old school no BS straight to the point kind of guy. I don't waste my money or time anywhere else. This is a highly recommended spot for oil changes. read more

Glendora Pit Stop - Auto Repair Near Me - Glendora, California

I live in Northern California but whenever I drive to Southern California I try and build in time to get oil change and check on things that concern me at this place. They know what they are doing. I first met John when he helped me on a trip down there in 2011. My transmission blew out and he fixed it and gave me knowledge about my car. Trustworthy above trustworthy. So believe me when I say, they are busy. And John is working hard to run a tight ship with efficiency to take care of as many as he can. Hope to see them again sometime this month. read more

Amazing auto shop, super military friendly, great services and very competitive on pricing! John the owner is the man, didn't get all the names of line workers but all were friendly and helpful. I picked this auto shop out of all the ones in the location is because of the Marine sticker in the front door, as a former Marine, I try to support fellow veterans especially Marines as much as possible. First time encounter, I took my friend's Benz in for service, got the job done, was able to explain the reason why certain hidden problems wasn't working and how they got it fixed. On pricing lets just say it was half of what my friend normally pay at other Luxury auto shop and a quarter of what Mercedes dealership charge. Second visit, was for my car. The front side part of fender liner fall off, it was dragging when I was driving on the freeway. Got it taken care of with zip ties around the bumper (free of charge), ordered the part got the pricing from the 3rd party in front of me, and charged an absolute insane low labor price that on top. Also talk about bad luck, on the same drive that my fender liner fall off, I had a crack on my wind shield, they do not do wind shield repair here, but John quickly referred me to one of my vendor. Overall amazing experience here, don't want to come here again (means I would have a car problem) but if I do, I would absolutely come back here. read more

John is so nice and we've been patrons for years. He is honest and staff hardworking.

Tried to call to see if I could bring my car in and the number was disconnected, came here to see what happened and extremely sad to see John has passed. John and my dad Ken Navo knew each other for years and when the time came for my first car repairs I took it to John, was always dependable. Ever since then I've taken all my cars to John for repairs up until a few years ago, I had a bought a brand new car and had no need for services, called to see if I could finally come in and get some service done for it and then heard the news. John always took care of my families and friends vehicles and was an amazing man. I'm sad to hear of his passing, condolences to the family, read more

I took my 2 year old car here for brake failure. Still under warranty. 50k mileage. They replaced a brake pump. 2 months later, it happened again and the owner told my wife the warranty would not cover the repair because the motor oil had turned to "gunk" and the motor had to be replaced. Tha car had 50k odometer miles. Bought new. Saos he would ""try" to save us by doing the repair without warranty for $700. We said ok. 3 months later, the same happened. At this time I took it to the dealer and found the problem was a faulty solenoid. $200 repair. 10 months and 20k miles later the car runs perfect. After he did the first repair, I took another car for oul change. After paying him for the service, the change oil light kept turning on. I went to him and could not make it stay off. I took the car to a dealer for another immediate oil change and problem solved. Diagnosis.. he never changed the oil! Conclussion AVOID THIS LYING THIEF. read more

Glendora Pit stop has been helping my family for over 16 years. John and my father had a good professional relationship and John was the one person that my father would trust for me to take my car to because he knew that it would be fixed with no hidden agenda. No issues, no problems, no secret financial schemes no hidden fees. John was a standup guy, straightforward, always honest and it saddened with me to hear that he passed away. I hope his family knows how much he was loved and appreciated by his community and that he has left a great mark on those who have had a chance to encounter him in business and life. My condolences to the family my prayers of peace and comfort are with you. read more

I had an electrical short . Gave it to them. 900.00 for a computer, later they gave it back with new problems ..... after another shop tested it they said the computer was modified and needed to be fixed. This was confirmed... I told pit stop that it needed to be fixed. He said no he will not fix it. .....so much for honest. Not impressed at all. Zero stars. read more

Honestly its so hard to find these days I got a coupon in the mail for a 39 dollar oil change so I took my car next day for service and was ready for the upsell or the switch and bait. To my surprise my car was ready in 30 minutes and I was handed a $39 bill with a few recommendations no pushy mechanics or scary tactics here overall great service with tremendous integrity. read more

Needed oil filter change for my Benz and I was quoted a fair price over the phone. When I saw the bill it was significantly less. That has never happened to me at an auto shop. I will definitely be coming back. John was very helpful. read more

I thought I would write a review for "The Pit Stop". I was recommended here by a good friend of mine from the Dodge dealership in Glendora. Let me start by saying that it is very difficult to find competent and capable auto professionals. I have been going to Glendora Pit Stop for about one and half years. I have several cars, my kids have cars, I always take them here. Over the past year, I've been here like 5 times and each time has been a pleasure. It's not always cheap but they always figure things out quick, no bull crap just here is whats wrong, and here's how much to fix it. Never had an issue and I've had all kinds of work done. Great rating from me and will continue to take my vehicles here. read more

To be honest I accidentally found Glendora Pit Stop since the A/C spot next door didn't open when they were supposed to and didn't pick up my call. I'm glad I accidentally found them. John is friendly and personable. Bruce drove me home while they worked on my car as a favor. I read on their walls that all technicians are ASE certified which is reassuring. Now, the main reason I trust them is that I was quoted a rate for service and agreed to it. However as they inspected it, it ended up being a problem that was approximately $120 less. They could have slipped it passed me and I would've never known as long as my AC was working. I appreciate the honesty and this is why I will be back. read more

John and his crew are by far the best and most honest Mechanic Shop in the SGV/ Glendora. What I also love about them is they literally can fix anything. We have been using them for over 10 years and referred countless others to them. Everyone says the same thing, Pit Stop is a rare find for honest fair priced auto repair. Don't look any further, this is the place.. Ask for John read more

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found you! By chance I was complaining to someone on getting the run around on pricing from several places for a smog check and she recommended John. I've been looking for a new mechanic in the area as mine retired and his shop is gone. I came in and was treated to the nicest service by Evan doing my smog check. It was quick and easy and fairly priced. Despite being a life long AAA member I had never known I can pay for and receive my tags the same day there. Thank you Evan for directing me right around the corner and making my day easier. I really appreciate the good service and look forward to having you there when I need you. read more

rude people here. Did not know how to fix our problem. Didn't take a chance to even look at the car and told us to come back tomorrow morning and drop off the car. Didn't want to give us an estimate but said to do a diagnostic test it would run up to $400+ I did not feel welcomed when I entered the shop. Plus the office smelled like nothing but cigarettes. read more

I've been going to Glendora Pit Stop for my oil change for about 2 years now. Even though I no longer live in the area, I still come to John for my oil changes and car maintenance. He is a very friendly and honest man, and doesn't try to sell you any extras or take advantage of your lack of car knowledge! I fully trust him and his crew with my car and totally recommend you go to see him. If low prices, quality work, and honesty is what you are looking for I definitely suggest you check them out. read more

I am truly disappointed with how I was quoted for repair costs over the phone, then when I get to the shop somehow the price has doubled! I've been going to this shop on and off for oil changes since last year because of a coupon ad they run in the Glendora Quarterly magazine, but I think my first attempt at getting actual repair work done at this shop will be my last. I would warn all other possible customers to beware of their practices. I really need repair work done, but I won't be getting it done by them!! read more

Came in today I had ran over something in the road and I realized later it had damaged the under carriage and pull out a bolt I didn't want to go to the dealership it's always expensive and takes ford forever to fix. Had a very bad experience at the dealer, my wife found this place online. Took my truck here, they had it fixed in under a hour with a warranty and a great price very happy! read more

I got my oil change (synthetic oil) and various complimentary checks on my car and it was much cheaper than the dealer or the place I used to go to. I paid about $45 when it's usually around $60 at most places. Will definitely be back for the next oil change! read more

Great service! I was recommended this place by a friend and now it's where I'll take my car every single time! John likes a good laugh and he makes me feel at ease. read more

This place definitely gets the job done right the first time. I have been coming here since it first opened. Nice to know a mechanic that you can tell is being honest with you from the get go. Would send my friends and family here without hesitation. read more

I have been taking my cars here for years now. This is the only mechanic I trust, I took my truck to get new brakes, because they were squeaking. Left it there; told him to call me when it's ready, the owner John called me a few hours later and told me my truck was done. I went inside the office to pay, to my surprise he handed me the keys and said there was no charge. He told me "you had a little bit of dirt in there, just needed to be cleaned" I was totally blown away. Talk about honesty and integrity. I highly recommend Glendora pit-stop to all my friends and family. read more

The service person at the front desk lacks social graces and customer relation's skills. He may or may not be a good mechanic but if the customer doesn't feel appreciate or that the shop actually wants his/her business, the shop is failing. Long wait times. Products in the displays are so old that they are either sun faded or suffer the degradation of second hand smoke that the customers must also endure. read more

Great service, guys are honest. Get the job done fast, correct, and at a resonable price.

I love the quick friendly, efficient service here! It's hard to find honest reliable mechanics, I think this is the place!

Place is great. A friend recommended this place to me. Not only cheaper than my other mechanic, friendlier and faster too.

I took my car into the Pit Shop looking for an honest mechanic and hopefully a permanent one. Well, I think I found him. Thanks John, for fixing my car and being upfront and friendly. I kind of knew what the problem was but didn't have the time or equipment to fix it. John went right to the problem and fixed right away. He didn't try and test my knowledge or play games. My type of mechanic. Oh and John, I did wash my car after I got it! :) read more

I was very disappointed in this place... I was recommended by Glendora Dodge and jeep dealer after purchasing my 2nd grand Cherokee from the dealership they sent me over there to have my new jeep rims and tires put on... I called on several occasions and I would speak to John Chris trying to set up a time to come and receive service for almost 2 weeks. So finally I take a half day off from work to go there and he was very rude and unprofessional over the phone as well in person... he told me he could not put my tires and rims on and gave me the most outrageous excuse and was trying to charge me additional $500 to do so even though the dealership was paying for the service... He out right lied to me about why he could not do the service... Nonetheless, evilness will never win over angels... So I asked john to write down what was needed to get my tires and rims installed.... I went over to another shop in the area and gave them what he had written down and they said it made no sense... they installed my wheels within an hour for only $40... I have no idea why he choose to treat me this way so I will not speculate... just do the math. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with integrity or purpose as they do not deserve good business... it's never a good idea to wrong to a righteous person... especially in this day... sometimes people choose their undisputed destiny just from being judgmental.... what a tragedy and disappointment read more

Very happy with Pit Stop. It's so hard to to find someone you can trust to work on your cars. John and his guys did a great job for a great price read more

Short story long; Chevy Silverado passenger side front. Mild squeal turns to roar. Tear wheels off truck see what's up. Definite bearing failure, possible knuckle damage. Too old, too fat the be pounding away on suspension in garage like days of youth. Throw wheels back on and squeal my way up old historic Rte 66. Gonna try out new spot referred by friend. Arrive (Glendora Pit Stop) explain my problem to John (owner) ask him to check other side just in case. Turns out driver side has play but minimal. Price so reasonable have him do both. John takes info/keys says "call you when it's done" me: "think it'll get done today?" John: "more like this morning!" Dropped off 8:15am finished11:15 am! That's even after I forgot wheel lock at home and had to drive back up before they could start (insert old forgetful joke). Next time won't even go home. I'll just walk across the street to Flappy Jacks for breakfast! (Insert fat joke) Thanks Pit Stop Thanks Kevin for the great referral. read more

Totally honest and trustworthy mechanic/shop! Went to my work to check a leak on my car, found out what it was and researched to find that it was still under warranty. John, the owner, knew I was in a pinch and couldn't do anything while I was still at work and didn't want to leave me stranded. So, he sent two of his guys to drop off my car at the local dealer, free of charge and made arrangements for the warranty work to be completed while I was still at work. The job would have cost $900, but instead, he was able to get the job done by the dealer under warranty in a matter of hours. They truly are looking out for their client's best interest. Thank you John and Team, you guys have proven to me again why I continue to bring my vehicle to you for service. Thanks! read more

Glendora Pitstop is honestly one of the few mechanics I trust. Unfortunately not all mechanics in Glendora or elsewhere are honest and try to drive up the cost on services you don't need. John and his team are really good at what they do and the best part is if you don't need a part or service, John will tell you upfront to save the money. Talk about integrity! I now bring my 2 cars for all my service needs. Highly recommend this place to everyone looking for an affordable mechanic with great customer service and most importantly a trustworthy one! read more

John is an honest man and this is a great place to have your car repaired. If it needs something he will tell you. Just had transmission serviced. John quoted me a price and when I came in to pay the bill it was substantially less. How many times have you had that happen at an auto repair shop? He stated that he had included a part and after doing transmission he found it was not needed . Only place I will have my car serviced. One of the few places you don't have to feel like you are being ripped off. And in my 64 years I have tried many. read more
