My MIL was transported there for physical therapy after she had a stroke. Only to find out this place had a COVID outbreak as of two weeks prior to her being admitted. No one informed us before she was admitted to the facillty. Before entering the facility, all visitors must mask up and take a covid test. No idea why a facility continues to accept new patients when they have a current covid outbreak. Ridiculous. Rating one star because I cannot rate negative stars.

Th grandchildren came to see nanna. Never be too busy for your loved ones.

WOW is what comes to mind…read more Where do I begin?, for starters the staff are all seasoned veterans with extensive first hand knowledge of ALL TYPES OF CARE/ so much so that the care provided is custom tailored to each individual resident, taking into consideration, many factors . Factors like , ( companionship ) ( lighting) (self talk techniques) ( diet) ( identifying and eliminating certain triggers) etc..... And NEXUS , the Strategic interface to track and account for all activities and schedules ! WOW again . Also taken into consideration at SILVERADO, is how different psychologically relevant stimuli effects residents mood overall participation in the community and overall quality of life ! All of this custom tailored to their specific diagnosis ? "WORTH EVERY NICKEL! SILVERADO you are a truly a Beacon of light in an otherwise dim space! More facilities will be adopting at least a couple of Silverados' brilliant concepts if not all of them soon! THANKS SILVERADO FOR RAISING THE BAR ! It is difficult when someone you love is hindered by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and chaos's ensues because you don't know where to go or how to handle, but I'll say Silverado has the knowledge and experience to put us all at ease. Liz and Veronica are more than lifesavers in this sea of confusion regarding memory loss. I am blessed daily knowing they care for my mother in law. Only 5 stars because that is the top otherwise it would be 10! I'd be remiss if I did not give a shout to the other staff members Dorothy, arianna and elyssa. Not least our night nurse Glinny who is fabulous. With all this care you can't afford not to be in the best hands if this is where you find yourself in life now!!

I'm going to preference this review by saying caring for psych patients is HARD, EXHAUSTING WORK…read more I have a family member who is in their psych unit. I've found the social workers and staff to be responsive to all of my inquiries and genuinely concerned for the health, welfare and general living conditions of my family member. The facility has activities for the residents on a regular basis As with many facilities the food isn't 5 star, but we must keep in mind this is a hospital, not a resort. That being said, I do wish they would use more quality ingredients with more variety for those clients who can enjoy a more varied menu. The facility buildings are old, the maintenance staff does the best they can with what they have to work with. I suspect the owners of the facility are dealing with a limited amount of funding with what SSA and private insurance pay (plus they have to make a profit) and the general cost of healthcare rising exponentially. It has been my experience, if you want your loved one to receive good care, you have to be an involved participant in that care. Be vocal, courteous, and be relational.

Mental Health and The quality of the care I receive every day is first and foremost compassionate…read moreand kind. I never feel rushed or hurried. My therapist (Paula) is one in a million no matter what I bring into group with me she is comforting and has a rare instinctive nature to help people bring their issues into the open, and then helps them heal. There are a multi of reasons that Aurora works and it starts with support staff one of them (Luis) runs the cafeteria and having eaten there more than a few times and let me tell you he runs it like a well oiled machine. There's not enough space to mention everyone that makes Aurora the best mental health facility but I would be remiss to not mention a few people who spend their lives helping their peers. LeeAnn, Mati, and Lydia are always near if anyone needs anything from checking us in every morning to helping out in the cafeteria making sure everyone gets help to their table. That may not seem like much but these women are trained professionals they have other important responsibilities at Aurora but they make time to help out and in other areas. Another person I'd like to mention is our RN Gigi she is on top of everything from making sure everyone stays healthy and happy I don't know what it is but whenever I see her I just start thinking of how much she loves her job. There are counselors who are so supportive, Jenn is one of the people who help us talk through our problems James is another who helps to make Aurora a safe space I know I'm rambling on but this place these people do so much for so many with little to no recognition. I can sum this up by saying unequivocally if not for Aurora Charter Oak I would not be here now. Please don't be afraid if you need help call them if they can help me they can help you too.
