Of all the facilities that we've had family members residing in, this is by far the best one that we've ever experienced. My mom is a patient at this facility and she has witnessed how much the staff tries their best to strongly protect them from contracting COVID-19. She always calls to tell me how happy she is that she's in this facility. As a high-risk patient, she's always been so nervous at other facilities but Sierra View is top notch. As expected, there are many new rules put into place in order to maintain the safety of everyone. I do have to commend the staff as there are plenty of people who will argue and refuse to comply with even the most basic rules. Like I mentioned, my mom is a patient there and has heard some of the visitors cursing and yelling at nurses who are just trying to do their job and protect everyone from the virus. For example, my mom said that one of their rules is that for "end of life" patients, they are allowed visitors ...but only ONE at a time. Nurses try to explain that to families and unfortunately, some of the families just met them with rudeness and curse words. I definitely have to commend the nurses for keeping calm and restrained during that time. Overall, the facility is well maintained, clean and complies will necessary COVID safety precautions. I feel assured that my mom is safe at this facility. The staff is easy to communicate with and always willing to help when needed. Definitely giving this facility high marks all the way through. read more

Unfortunately, both my parents ended up in a skilled nursing facility at the same time. My father was just transferred to a permanent memory care assisted living facility. The staff there was very attentive and always communicated with me. We worked with Priscilla, the social worker who helped find a placement for my father's next place, and she showed so much patience with all the difficulties of handling these decisions. She was quick to respond to concerns and communicated quickly. The nursing staff was extremely helpful and kind to both my parents. My father was emotional when he left because of the sweetness they showed him. The head nurse, Cynthia, always communicated with me, answered my texts, called me directly if my father needed to hear a familiar voice, and a pleasure to communicate with her. This decision to place your loved one in a skilled nursing facility is not an easy one, but when you put them in a place that feels supported and you know they are cared for, it helps ease the anxiety of not having them home with you. My brother was a patient at this facility for more than 5 years. It was very difficult to make that decision to place him in a facility. But his health concerns needed 24 hour monitoring. The nurses and the caregivers took great care of him. He was always clean and was closely monitored medically. He had some events that required him to be hospitalized and they always welcomed him back after brief stays in the hospital. My family would like to mention a few staff members who went above and beyond what was expected of them. They are Cynthia and Edwin. There are many others that provided excellent care. You were there for him when we were not able to. You kept us informed when he wasn't feeling well. When we came to visit him, the place was always clean. This was my father second time being here. So many positive things I can say about this facility let's start with my dad looks great. My sister was recently a patient @ this facility and had received excellent service. Nursing staff from CNAs, charge nurses and supervisors were all very professional, compassionate and were attentive to my sister's needs. They were all very pleasant & i feel their staff treat their patients like they were family. Very caring staff including the rehab dept who were very nice and patient to my sister. Spoke w/ the Administrator right before my sister was discharged and complimented him for his exceptional team. Soc Services made my sister's discharge process very smoothly...very efficient. Treatment nurse was also great & has consistently attended to my sister's needs. Kudos to this nursing facility team and will highly recommend to anyone needing this type of service!!! This facility was friendly and attentive. We never experienced bad attitudes from the staff nor the administration. I was never hit at the door with bad smells as I entered the doors. My Dad never complained. Even the family and friends that visited my Dad, said that this was the best of the three places we had Dad placed. My mother is staying at this facility. And she is complaining about the the meals that are very bad and they don't pay attention to to what she should have on her tray. But when visitors are coming they get all nervous. I find it very odd. Also they don't want any visitors without an appointment and when they have appointments it's also a problem. Where do I even begin? My grandma was transferred here for care. The nurses were amazing! Albert and Lesley was amazing. Of course because of covid we could not go in to see her but she had a window and were able to see her through that. A month or so passes and we end up putting her on hospice. According to their website we would be able to visit her in person. We went one night, no issues. Next morning, no issues. That night before she passed they made it a HUGE issue to visit her. We entered with no problem, everyone said hi, and then my brother and I were removed from the building (he's only 9, and I, 26). My brother and I did not get to see her for long. They said "until she is transitioning" we can't see her. How will they know the exact moment she is reaching death? Anyways, that night they called us around 10pm to let us know she's "transitioning" and allowed us to go visit 1 by 1. Great. She's no longer talking at this point where as earlier she was talking. So we didn't get to say a proper good bye. Fast forward to 3am we get a call that she has passed away. We can come visit. We get there and then nurse in charge of answering the door is asleep!!! We had to wait until they woke up to answer the door. "Normita" is a nightmare, she threatened to transfer my grandma to another facility two days before she passed. Update: her dentures have been found by the mortuary. What should have been a peaceful time was a nightmare because of their lack of communication and compassion during this time. read more

The staff at Sierra View Care Center are helpful and resourceful. Most recently while visiting the center I was able to enjoy their new exterior court yard. Was pleasantly surprised to be greeted and taken care of by staff while I was waiting. The facility is clean and most importantly does not smell like some of the buildings I've gone into in the past. My sister spent nearly 5 months at Sierra Care, recuperating from a broken leg. I visited several times a week and was never disappointed or upset wit the care she was receiving. All members of the staff were very pleasant to work with as well as knowledgeable and professional in their duties. The facility, itself, was always spotlessly clean and seemed to always have workers on site attending to any structural needs. The staff seemed to take a lot of pride in their work, demonstrating a positive and friendly attitude. The PT staff worked hard to help my sister get back to the challenge of walking again. Sierra Care did not seem understaffed, and any requests or questions, from asking for ice to financial questions, were quickly addressed. They seemed to truly care about patient care and comfort. The atmosphere at Sierra Care was friendly, professional, welcoming, and on occasion, celebratory. I felt my sister's concerns were met, even if it were a special dietary request, and that she was well cared for during this time she was not able to be self sufficient and safely at home. She was treated with respect, and as an individual, with every effort made to accommodate her needs and requests, in a caring and professional manner. We both hope that she will not have to return as a patient anytime soon, but it is very reassuring that there is a care center that is run so efficiently, with a staff that works well together in such a professional and caring manner. I would highly recommend considering Sierra Care if the need for such a facility should arise. read more

Generally, Rehabilitation Care Centers and Skilled Nursing Facilities have a difficult job and have to deal with many different kinds of people. The staff of Sierra View Care Center does an outstanding job in all of the areas my 91 year old Mother needed with her 2 weeks of Skilled Nursing and Physical And Occupational therapy. The nurses would call me with updates on my Mom's progress. The PT staff would allow me to work extra with my Mom, using some of the equipment and instruct me how to use it. The whole place was clean and orderly every time I visited. I have been to a few skilled nursing facilities in the past and "the smell" would always hit you when entering, but not here. Her room was big enough and shared with another resident. Flat screen TV's for each. Competing tv noise was a problem so I bought my Mom a tv headset which worked well. The bed was comfy and she did not complain. She was well taken care of in her room and not ignored. The food was good. I joined my Mom on several occasions. There is a dining room employee who made sure my Mom got her coffee and had her bread buttered each day. He was so kind to all the residents, some who needed tremendous amounts of patience. Although I forgot his name, I won't forget his gentle smile and helpfulness. The office staff kept us informed of all necessary paperwork and meetings. I and my brothers were very thankful our Mom was treated at Sierra View Care Center, truly a well run business, that cares about their clientele. read more

Recently I was at this facility to visit a close friend of my Dads who has been practically a uncle to me. He is doing fantastic and I owe it to this incredible and caring staff. He is always comfortable and well groomed and clean! The nurses are always so friendly and easy to talk to. I have been to this facility many times as I worked for a hospital in the area. Every time I came to visit, I was greeted warmly by the staff at the nursing station. The rooms are spacious & they have a beautiful, well kept patio for residence and families to enjoy. I have had only good experience with the staff. The Social services Director, Frances is very compassionate and knowledgeable. One time I came to visit & the activity coordinator was throwing a dance for the residence. They were up & dancing (some of them with help) but it was a scene that warmed my heart. I also like that the building itself is nestled in a residential neighborhood. This facility is better then few I've visited in. This staff is more so willing to help and are very friendly but there are a few that act like your bothering them. The few that i have visited in are just the same I just cant get the smell of urine out of my head when you visit these facilities this particular facility is not that bad but at times will have the odor. The rooms are a fairly decent size but could use a minor touch ups and maybe a little bit of decoration to kind of give it a home feeling. they have the basic TV no satellite dish so it is do able if you just like the major network channels. My Dad was a recovering COVID patient and was leaving the hospital to a nursing home to further his physical therapy to get back to normal. Everyone at Sierra View is very easy to communicate with. Albert was especially helpful in keeping communication with me. He was available via call and text. Even now that my dad is out of the nursing home, Albert still checks in with me to see how things are going. In addition, Albert has been helpful in figuring out the mess with my Dad's Medical and Medicare insurance. I now have a better understanding of how all that works because he walked me through it and worked with his providers. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because my Dad did not like the food. That being said, the nutritionist, Eduardo, was also available for calls to discuss the diet and the food. He made accommodations as requested and was open to making some custom shakes for my Dad. I think my Dad was likely being overly picky over the food or his medications were throwing his taste buds off. All in all, my Dad said he was comfortable there and all staff were attentive. When he left the hospital, he was no longer able to walk and barely move but made great improvements within 6 weeks from the physical therapy he received at Sierra View. read more

Be very careful on leaving an loved one here. They do not hand feed your beloved one and take the trays away. The food is Gross. Employees are rude and if the Director wants you out because you have seen how they treat patients, he will send your loved one somewhere else and claims it is for the welfare of the 'patient might do harm to themselves'. I can't say enough about Scierra View. I had a family member who has stayed at two other rehab locations but they were horrific. When I had a family entering a faculty for the 3rd time I was reluctant. I went to look for myself before we gave the thumbs up. It is a convalescent home as well as a rehab center. Compared to our previous experience this hospital is lovely. The staff is always helpful and seems to love working there. The energy is positive and that's unique for a center like this. The long term residents are lovely and well cared for and seem engaged with other residents and have on going projects and entertainment. The rehab center is wonderful to patients and encourages being proactive. I hope you have the same experience and would advise you to go look before your love one comes to the center. read more

My father was recently hospitalized again and was sent to another facility and that care did not compare to the care he received at Sierra View so I am happy Albert helped with getting him transferred to to Sierra View. My Dad (who has advanced dementia) was fortunate to be transferred here after suffering a bad fall to his head from his previous assisted living facility earlier this year. To be honest, we weren't even sure he was going to make it. However, the care and PT/OT he received here helped him recover better than we could imagine! For the times I visited, this facility is very clean, safe, and organized. You can tell this is a strict and well-runned facility. They also have strict covid protocols in place. They also inform family members right away when there are changes in patient's condition. My Dad is now being transferred to his new assisted living facility nearby, but, we are so grateful he was surrounded by caregivers and nurses that nurtured him back to a new baseline. Well, where to begin. I was a very reluctant resident at the start. I had broken my left femur in a fall and was a very unhappy boy. It took a few days for the pain meds from the hospital to wear off and I kept to myself with minimal amount of interaction. Once I came out of my shell a little bit, I found the staff to be engaging, encouraging, and most of all, professional. These fine people helped me deal with set backs and celebrate milestones. I recently toured Sierra View and was very impressed with how bright the area was when you first walk in. The sun was shining nicely through the big windows in what I think was a family area. It gave the facility a cheery feel to it. The facility was also very clean and the staff were friendly. On the day that I toured, the staff had put together a luau for the residents; there was a beautiful bbq, hula dancers, and the day was sunny so it turned out to be a very nice event for the residents. I have my mom in this Care Center and they are top notch. My mom usally complains about everyone but she says herself that there is not one person there she can complain about. She says that every single person there is very very nice to her and when I go and visit or other friends and family members we are treated with the up most respect. I had an opportunity to take a tour of this facility last week. I surprised to see such a large facility in a quiet residential area. The facility as well kept up and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I had the chance to talk to the nutritionist, she explained how the meals are designed to be tasty as well as meet the needs of the patients. Sierra view what can I say except RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. I sent my mom there after a surgery for after care and needless to say it was horrible. The nursing staff is lazy,slow getting to the room to take care of the patients needs,the food was something you would see in the trash,doctor never came in to see my mother the short time she was there,I had to chase the nurses down for any thing my mom needed and it still took over 20 minutes. I finally called the administrator Sam Smith and gave him ear full, he was supposed to return my call when he talked to his staff(still waiting on that call)I also called the Social services dept.in the facility left a message for them to return my call which she did. I spoke to Francis and explained to her my complaints and concerns, I told her to get the ball rolling so I could transfer my mom ASAP. My mom is now in a much better place with caring nurses and staff that work with her for her continued rehabilitation. Please DO NOT think of referring,visiting of sending your loved one's here you would regret it. read more
