We booked this place online. The check in was easy and there was a lot of parking. They only offer pop tarts and coffee for breakfast. The hotel is older but in a good location. The room itself was pretty big and had a refrigerator. The carpet was very comfortable. The shower had really good water pressure. It was located in a good area. They returned my deposit back fast overall had a good experience.

We enjoyed our one week stay here for two main reasons: the pool and the efficient service. When we called to get our room cleaned and linens changed they were able to get it done within 2 hours every time. If I needed to purchase an item from the lobby or ask a question there was always someone there ready to assist 24/7. The 2nd floor where we stayed had a laundry unit so we were able to wash and dry for under $5/ load. The pool is open until 10 pm and there is a small jacuzzi as well. This hotel is pet friendly and non smoking, but of course we are in Glendale so there was always someone smoking or vaping outside the balcony or outside the hotel lobby, but it didn't bother us. Our room had a double bed, had a mini fridge, and a kettle. Which was helpful because all they offer in the morning is coffee, fruit bars, and fruit cups in syrup. For the price and convenience of location I say this stay was definitely worth it.

Definitely a retro budget vibe. The building and fixtures are dated. Came for a 7hr stay before an early morning flight out of Burbank airport. The bed, linens, and towels were clean enough. Late night check in clerk was efficient. Surrounding area can be a little sketchy. Parking is included and my rental car didn't get bipped.

I was looking forward to having nostalgia experience based on the website and its pictures but instead I just got plain o OLD hotel. The lobby and front desk were great. Fully decorated with a Christmas theme...it was great. My room on the other hand, not so great. Wallpaper was coming a part and some was missing. Loved the chair, table and fridge. Bed was comfy. I slept pretty well. There's so much potential for this property and I really hope they can get things together. And for breakfast they have coffee, tea, and pop tarts. That was cute. .

I got ripped off. This would be a borderline acceptable "motel"experience for $75-100 a night, but certainly not for $188 (w/ fees). Photos don't do it justice, but this place is old and nasty with ill-fitting ceiling panels, mildew, bad water pressure, and overall just not a three star experience whatsoever. It receives one extra star simply because I didn't have any additional issues and slept through the night (it's also a safe neighborhood). But, never again.

This is how the bathtub was left after they "fixed it".

We came back from our event, the bathtub was filled with sewer water. The whole room smelled like a sewer. We talked to the front desk and they told us there were no more rooms so we had to stay in the room we had. So, after a day of walking around LA, we were unable to bathe at all and were forced to sleep in a room that smelled like feces. The night of the incident, Joshua was very understanding and told us the management would handle it in the morning. So, in the morning, I asked to talk to management. When I was greeted by the manager in the morning, first, she was rude and not understanding at all. She had called me that day and asked for permission for the plumbers to enter the room. I gave permission. So this tells me that there was a KNOWN issue with the room we were staying in, but after the plumbers left there was no plan in place for us to move rooms. They must have seen the poop water in the room. When I talked to the manager, she said that since she had left me a message (a message I never received) that it was not her or the hotels fault. There is nothing she can or should do for us. She then said that she had messaged the night manager to give us another room, but the night manager did not see the message so its not her fault. She constantly blames others on staff without making any attempt to rectify what the HOTEL did to our room. I want my money back for the night of misery that the hotel put us through. The hotel DAMAGED our room during our stay and made our stay UNSAFE because of the biological material in the bathroom. Not only is this a breach of contract, but also a health code violation. I am floored that this manager I talked to this morning blamed ME for the situation and refused to compensate us in any way. This is a problem and I want to know how you will fix it.

Let me start by saying this place has good bones and is on the right path. The lobby, adorable! I was soo hopeful with the lobby being as cute as it was that the rooms would be too...womp, the rooms are old and dingy and didn't have the same retro vibe as the lobby. It seems like maybe they're working through the building so I hope they truly bring some of those magic pieces to the rooms too. It was a comfortable stay, and I'd stay here again especially if we were checking out universal studios.

For a hotel that's been around since the 70's, and rebranded with a 1950's/1960's flair, it wasn't a bad stay. The complimentary breakfast included Pop Tarts and coffee, but the room, retro look throughout the hotel made the stay enjoyable.

My husband made the reservation and I must admit I was worried after reading the reviews but we had a good stay. The room was very clean and we never felt unsafe. Of course it's not a luxury hotel but it had everything we needed and was clean. We didn't hear anything at night it was quiet and had a good sleep. The shower had a lot of pressure. We went to the lobby for coffee. We didn't see any breakfast but coffee was available and wasn't terrible. The lobby is very nice and I really liked the vending machine that had things like general medications and essentials it was pretty cool. As for the review about no cleaning service there is a sign in the room saying that it is done after 5 days stay but if you need anything you can ask for it. All in all it was a good experience and we would stay again.

Overall this place looks like someone did a quick fix to make a quick buck and pretty soon they're going to bail out and dump this place .needs alot of work .

Glendale Express, more like Backrooms Express. Urban Exploring in Los Angeles and looking for somewhere to stay? Look no further. This is the place. A massive hotel building with over a thousand rooms and only about a hundred of them are available to be rented out. Liminal hallways for days that are not at all haunted. The smells here are abundant; cigarette smoke, musty mold, sewage, and general decay. Towels and sheets are well-bleached. There is an intriguing black crud in the bathroom ceiling maybe dust, maybe mold, probably both. Rooms and hallways are in various states of remodel, peeling wallpaper, mismatched/missing carpet, unpatched holes often causing the question, "is that a hole in the wall or a bug?". So much to take in. Located in a quiet and safe neighborgood. Lobby is retro cute, so is the in-room fridge. Evening front desk staffer had kind eyes. The parking and ice machines are plentiful and the lobby morning coffee was good.

Last week we took a trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood and we booked this hotel for 2 nights. The price is quite reasonable and close to where we wanted to go. This is a big apartment complex, we're on the third floor, there are plenty of parking spaces to park every night. This is an old complex but well kept, clean inside and outside. The front desk people are quite pleasant and helpful. Although it's old, and would have gotten a 5 stars if the shower was good, but it wasn't, the water pressure is very weak, the hot and cold water don't mix well, on and off. The shower head is so small with poor water coming out. I like a nice shower after a long day outside, but this didn't do it for me. The room is efficiently big for 4 people, the AC works extremely well especially on hot days, the fridge is cold. Over all the place is nice, close to Starbucks and Jack in the Box. I walked to get coffee every morning, although there is coffee in the room and on the front desk area. The Ice machine on the 3rd floor doesn't work so we had to walk down to the 2nd floor. The beds are quite comfortable. One thing I didn't like was parking fee $10/night. This is totally unreasonable, may be I didn't read the fine prints when I booked this place or may be how all the hotel in Glendale do that. The Wifi is good even on the third floor. Will we come back here again, we don't think so, because we do like a nice shower every night and morning and this place doesn't provide that.

    Jasmine M.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. When I arrived at the hotel at first glance the room was ok. I was excited to see that it had a balcony, until I slid the curtain over and saw what my view was, and then I began to think about in case of an emergency I'd be trapped since the balcony was obstructed and I wouldn't be able to get down. Mind you I was on the 2nd floor. As I was getting ready to get into the tub to take a bath, I noticed hair in and around the bathtub. As I took a closer look, there was hair on the bathroom floor, as well as around the toilet. This was completely disgusting, and of course I didn't bother to bathe any longer. I did reach out immediately to the front desk and all they told me was that they would make a note of it. They did not offer to come and look at their room, clean it or put me in a different room. I ended up leaving the next morning at 6am with a lot of bites all over my legs.

Love their lobby as they have a koi pond which the kids can feed in Tuesdays. They have a great made-to-order continental breakfast. They also have an awesome happy hour of 2 complimentary drinks to go along with some snacks like popcorn, chips, nuts, etc. Staff were all friendly and helpful when needed. The parking is underground. A little inconvenient as the parking elevator is separate from the room elevators. Also it felt like only 1 or 2 of the elevators were working. Ice machine was only located on the 2nd floor. Would've been nice if there was one at every floor or more than just 1 floor. Also the drink vending machine was always sold out. These are why I dropped 1 star. But overall, my family and I really enjoyed this hotel for our vacation and will most likely be back for our next vacation in the area.

Let's cover the pros and cons: Pro #1: It's a pet-friendly hotel. It's not free to bring pets, and it's not cheap to bring your cat or dog, but it's not as bad as other places. Con #1: You have to pay $28 per day for self-parking in the lot underneath the hotel. I hate paying for parking at a hotel. Pro #2: They have complimentary breakfast and it's better than your typical continental breakfast at a hotel. There's an omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage, pancakes or French toast (depending on the day), bread (bagels, English muffins, and toast), fruit, cereal, various pastries, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, and more. Pretty solid. Con #2: There's a lot of noise as the hotel is located on a popular street in Glendale and it's close to the highway. At least my room was noisy. I had to wear earplugs each night (I'm a light sleeper). Pro #3: The rooms are suites so they're more spacious than your typical hotel room. There's a bedroom with a door and a nice living room area with a mini fridge and a microwave. Con #3: Some service snafus. I checked in digitally and I was supposed to have a virtual key card. It didn't work as there was an issue with the app. I requested some towels and they said they would bring them up to my room. They never did. I had to call back and they brought them up this time (though they brought a different number of towels than what I requested. Pro #4: They have a complimentary happy hour from 5:30-7:00 p.m. where each guest can get two alcoholic beverages (wells, beer, and wine). They also have some light bites such as chips and salsa/guac, pita bread and hummus, snack mix, or crostini (depending on the day). Con #4: The rooms are pretty clean and comfy, but they could be nicer. Case in point: an old hand towel was in between my mattress and the mattress box. All in all, a slightly above average experience. Without the expensive parking fees and lower pet fees, that would make a positive difference.

Honestly, everything would've been pretty mid except for that They only had one elevator working out of four possibilities for a hotel with I think 18 floors and very busy. Waiting for the elevator especially when you're on the 11th floor so if you have luggage using the stairs is not really an option. It truly made every time leaving or coming into the hotel a very annoying process to have to wait in a huge line then be smooshed in a gigantic queue for the elevator. Also, the gift shop was so overwhelmingly overpriced. A little pack of almonds like a couple ounces was 6-7 dollars. It's super close to Transit and also the Americana so that's really why we chose it for this particular location, parking was also really expensive but I used one of those parking apps to find something nearby for like $15 instead of paying well over $30 to park for a night, . Additionally, just walk your butt over to Trader Joe's across the street and grab some items instead of paying out the nose at the gift shop. Didn't eat any food there. I didn't have any problems with cleanliness of the rooms, yes, it was a little bit dated, but my main complaint was just It was really inexcusable to have three of the elevators out on a busy weekend with probably close to capacity crowd at the hotel. They should've had an emergency person coming in to fix the elevator on that day. There is an outdoor pool that's heated, it's set online. I think that there is a hot tub, but there is no such hot tub. So we didn't try the pool even though it was heated because I think we'd really just would've preferred a hot tub. I was able to use a peloton bike to work out which I appreciated, but there is no sauna. It's all locked up, even though it appears that there's a sauna, and some places online list the sauna, the sauna is not functional. The gym is quite large.

Check-in was quick and easy, which I always appreciate after a long day of traveling. There's plenty of parking in their garage. It's not free, but it's secure -- and honestly, I'd rather pay for peace of mind. The room itself was clean and had all the usual amenities you'd expect. Everything felt comfortable and well-maintained. The only issue we experienced was that the toilet overflowed. We notified the front desk, and while they were responsive and brought towels, we weren't moved to another room. It would have been a five-star experience if we had been swapped out, especially given the inconvenience. That said, we had already planned to step out and only came back to sleep for a few hours, so it wasn't a complete dealbreaker -- just a bit of a customer service miss in my opinion. Overall, the location, cleanliness, and ease of stay were solid. With a little more attentiveness in handling unexpected issues, this place would easily be a full five stars.

The clerk wasn't outright rude, but for the first several minutes seemed pretentious, like I wasn't good enough to stay there. He didn't introduce himself or ask my name; I introduced myself and asked his name after check-in, and he warmed up a bit. It felt like I'd caught him doing something wrong or arrived before he was ready. I had to ask multiple questions because he didn't offer information or engage. My customer service was on point--his, not so much. I'd been driving all day and was exhausted, wearing very casual clothes, but he felt very judgey. I asked to see the rooms after reading reviews. The first was rundown and not worth the $150 he quoted. He kept going into the back office between questions, implying he was busy or nearly full (there was only one car outside). When I asked to see the other side of the hotel, which had allegedly been updated, he bragged about being fully booked, though I only ever saw three cars. Odd. The second room was just okay, but I was too tired to find another hotel, so I stayed one night. Few things frustrate me more than visible neglect and lack of detail. There were drywall screw heads popping out, scuffed walls, holes, and water-damaged bathroom drywall from a poorly placed glass shower door--crumbling onto the floor. The floor itself was dirty. The outer entry door was peeling badly, shedding bits of clear coating onto the floor and my hands. The blinds appeared to not have been cleaned in months--which should be done regularly. The bed frame was filthy--dust, debris, bits of wrappers and food. It was clearly dirty, with oils, handprints, and dried liquids (I'll leave that to your imagination). The closet doors, off-white, had visible hand grime. The disinfectant wipes I used were brown - yuck. The lamp was dusty, an outlet near the bed had a broken metal piece stuck inside, and both the bathroom vent and hair dryer were caked with dust. The dryer filter hadn't been cleaned in ages. The countertop above the mini fridge was detaching, the bathroom shelf was decaying, and the shower glass hadn't been cleaned. The creamy drip marks on the wall--hopefully conditioner or soap--remained, and the grout was mold-stained. A simple bleach spray would've fixed it. The shower water pressure was awful, with calcification that needs vinegar soaking. It also leaked from the stem. Meanwhile, the sink had too much pressure. The cleaning staff were wonderful--always offering help. The issues here clearly stem from management, not staff. I realize this isn't a four-star hotel and that my standards are higher than average. Having worked in property management and emergency response, I've been in many homes across all conditions and know what "clean" should look like. I attached photos (which don't even capture all of it) so others can decide for themselves. Public beds and showers should be cleaned frequently so dust, germs, and bugs don't build up. The initial clerk did warm up by the end, and wasn't outright rude, just awkward and pretentious at first. When I checked out, a different man was working. He was extremely pushy, insisting I stay longer despite me saying I had to get back on the road. Then he handed me a clipboard and said it was mandatory to fill out--a sheet listing my name, room number, and space for comments, stacked under previous guests' notes. I told him I'd review the hotel online instead. He insisted I fill in each section, so under "comments" I wrote "review on Yelp." Other than being pushy, he was friendly--but it was an annoying end to a stay that wasn't worth the cost. Not the worst stay I've had, but definitely not one I'd repeat.

What stood out to me was that Joy did not simply take his word for it. She stepped in, calmly took control of the situation, and continued checking on the young woman despite the man trying to speak over her. After some back and forth, I heard Joy directly ask the young woman if she knew the man. Shockingly, the young woman said no. At that moment, Joy immediately asked the man to step away and questioned why he claimed to know her and why he was following her. Once confronted, the man left. From what I witnessed, the young woman was then safely escorted and able to recover in safety. As a bystander, I cannot express how much respect I have for Joy. In today's world, many people would have ignored the situation or brushed it off as people "just having fun." Instead, Joy trusted her instincts and potentially protected that woman from a very dangerous situation. Because of her attentiveness and courage, that young woman was able to safely wake up without a stranger in her room or something far worse happening to her. Watching this unfold honestly made me feel safer staying at this property. Employees like Joy are rare, and the Conrad should be incredibly grateful to have someone so observant, compassionate, and proactive representing their hotel. On behalf of that young woman and as someone who witnessed everything unfold, thank you, Joy, for stepping in when it mattered most. The world needs more people like you. Keep up the amazing work.

The Conrad Los Angeles was the perfect place to stay overnight in LA. While not walking distance…read morefrom much, it was easy to uber. The hotel was very clean and accommodating. The best and comfiest hotel bed. The views and interior design were spectacular and the restaurant and dining options were delicious. The amenities were great as well. The hotel so kindly held our luggage after the check out time, which was a tremendous help before our late flight. When a hotel is as accommodating as the Conrad, it truly makes the whole experience. I will definitely be staying here again!
