Very friendly staff and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A wonderful value; I'll stay here again next time I'm in Glendale.

This review covers only the motel's physical condition. The staff was friendly, respectful and accommodating, and we have no problem at all with how we were treated. The property is older but remodeled motel in downtown Glendale. We've stayed here several times in the past year. Our decision has been price driven. On our most recent visit, we decided that the condition of the room was devolving and we wouldn't be selecting Chariot Inn again. The condition of the room, while sufficiently clean. there were repairs to the room that had not been fixed. I can say this because we were assigned to the same room on stays two and three. The door trim in the bathroom was obviously broken. This would have been a quick repair/replacement, yet it either wasn't communicated to maintenance/management or they chose to ignore it. For me this indicated a lack of respect for the condition of the property and ultimately a lack of care about the guest experience. On another note, the noise from plumbing In upstairs adjacent rooms was quite noticeable, even loud when neighboring guests were showering. read more

A great value located in a pleasant part of Glendale. Close to the freeway. The traffic noise is minimal, and the facilities and rooms are clean. There is free off-street parking in a very well lit lot. With well kept landscaping. We stayed in a room with a King. The bathroom was very small, the door barely closed in front of the toilet . The room included a small refrigerator/freezer and a microwave. There is no coffee(maker) or any other offerings. The mattress was firm, the pillows frumpy, and the bed had no fitted sheet. The AC unit was as loud and struggled at times, thankfully the weather was mild because warmer days may have provided more than it could accommodate. I booked my stay at the Chariot Inn through the hopper app; it was decently priced; parking was free, the room was clean, the shower was hot, the fridge was spacious, ac was nice and cold, I was provided with nice blankets and toiletries; the staff was super friendly and accommodating and even let me check out a little later than the agreed upon time without charging me extra. The place is more or less what you would expect from a motel. With that being said, there were no problems with the visit and the service was excellent. The free parking was very nice, especially in Glendale where parking is hard to find anywhere. The rooms were clean and no problems with them whatsoever. My fiance and I ended up going to universal studios which is not super far from the hotel! (20 min drive about) read more

This place was an absolute nightmare! My entire room (room 201) was filled with roaches. They were literally everywhere, the sink, the desk, the tv, and the bed. I even found dead small baby roaches in the fridge and microwave. I must of killed around 30 of them. This morning I found a review from someone who stayed in the exact room as me and had to change rooms because of the roaches, so the hotel was definitely aware of the issue but still chose to put someone else in the room. With the amount of roaches in my room I'm quite sure the entire hotel is infested with them. In addition to the roach problem, my room was not thoroughly cleaned before I checked in. High-touch areas like the the light switches, door handles and knob for the AC were covered in dirt. The laminated TV guide was covered in food stains, the blow dryer was covered in dirt and makeup from whoever stayed there before me, there was hair on the walls and sides of the tub, the chairs had clearly visible stains and were covered in crumbs. The other guests in the hotel would hang outside my room talking loudly on the phone broadcasting all their drama to everyone. As soon as I walked in my room I saw a hole in the ceiling right above the door, there were stains on my sheets and the wifi was horribly slow. This place seriously needs to be shutdown until it gets its roach problem under control and hire new housekeeping that will fully clean the rooms after guests leave. The clear infestation of roaches is a serious health hazard. read more

I stayed in this motel last night with a friend. The check-in was quick and easy, and the staff I interacted with was very friendly. The room was spacious and clean. There were towels in the bathroom ready to use. We got room 109 if I'm not mistaken. It was a king-size non-smoking room with A/C and a mini fridge. There's parking on-site with was good. There's a lot of restaurants nearby, which is why we booked this room to begin with. I would definitely come back here. read more

booked a double bed room through Agoda on 9/6/24, arrived at the hotel with 105 degree sweltering weather and it appears the hotel owners wanted to take advantage of the patrons at the hotel.... they insisted that i only paid for a single bed hotel even though my reciept clearly stated TWIN BEDS.Plural beds not singular bed ... of course they offered to upgrade the room for an additional $50 per night . Had a family emergency and booked the closest motel to where we were and assumed that since we were booking through Travelocity, it would be ok as they are required to meet certain standards. WRONG!! Rude front desk clerk. He was asleep when we checked in and wouldn't let me check in unless I have him $150 cash despite already using my credit card on the app. This was in addition to the incidentals, he was trying to get money out of me. I'm not an idiot. Praying my credit card doesn't get compromised by this dump or I'm reporting it to Glendale PD and disputing all charges. Some advice....kindness goes a long way read more

The room I was in (room 109) presented me with a different type of cockroach every night I was there (one on my nightstand, one coming out of an access panel above the shower (pictured below)). On the second night, i asked the hotel if they had a different room due to the infestation in my room. The employee at the front desk stated that they had no vacancy and left me with a can of roach spray to fend for myself. Upon check out the next morning, I noticed the room next to me (room 110) seemed to be set up for possible fumigation (pictured below). When I went to ask for a refund (through an agent at hotels.com) from the property for only one of the two nights I had stayed there, they were unwilling. Dont stay here if you can at all help it. In my experience, the motel doesn't really seem to care about the cleanliness of its rooms so much so that there are cockroaches (as well as ants) everywhere. I was only able to actually sleep one of the two nights I stayed there. Never again. read more

The carpet/floor in the hotel room was wet. They had a machine in their prior to me checking in to try and dry it and I saw the manager quickly run in to remove the machine before I got into the room ‍. There was some cigarette burns/holes on the blankets, the shower head was out of the wall, the tv didn't work properly and their sockets were making zapping sounds. When I asked for some sort of discount they said they could refund me $20 ‍ the workers were friendly and nice. But I don't recommend staying here even as a super cheap stay. read more

We felt very safe & enjoyed a clean, comfortable room just minutes from the park at a fair price. My only request is coffee in the room or maybe offered in the lobby. I found myself unexpectedly spending a night in LA, and when I couldn't get a wireless connection to access all the online sources I resorted to the quaint custom of driving down the street... and was lucky enough to find the Chariot Inn where I spent a number of happy evenings when I had a client in Eagle Rock, back in the late 80s. (Which would have been when Barack Obama was a student down the street at Occidental College... who knew?) Anyway, this is still a solid value choice. The rooms are updated and clean and the lobby has a delicious curry smell (not for you, unfortunately, but they do have coffee in the morning). They don't have wireless but the proprietor lent me a cable which worked just fine. read more

The only reason someone should stay here is if everything else is booked. The room had a very musty smell to it and it is not very clean. The shower was filthy, so make sure you bring shower shoes. We were originally going to stay two nights, however, we left the very next morning to stay at a different hotel. Again, this should only be an option if nothing else is available. read more

From friendly check-in to the staff making a special effort to find my friend's lost glasses, our stay was perfect. Quiet, centrally located, easy to find, with clean rooms and spotless grounds. We let them know the eyeglasses went missing when we checked out, and they called while we were still ordering breakfast nearby, that special attention was above and beyond. I searched endlessly for a safe, clean motel to fit the needs of visiting relatives from out of the country. This place met all my (and their) needs! $85 for a King bed over a July weekend. Free wi-fi AND parking! Also, free breakfast including waffles, bagels and coffee. The staff was very pleasant, courteous, and welcoming. The motel is also within 2 miles of the Americana, Porto's, Griffith Observatory (4 miles) and several freeways. The area surrounding the motel is dead around 10pm so don't expect to be able to walk somewhere if you've got the munchies! Very basic toiletries in the room but the saving grace is that the room included a fridge, which was perfect for people from out of town who need a place to store all the food accumulated throughout their stay. In comparison to the other motels on the same street, the Chariot Inn looked more welcoming on the outside and inside. Absolutely one of the cleanest motels I've ever been too. Highly recommended and would return again. read more

We had reserved two nights at the Omni Hotel Downtown Los Angeles - an Internet special. We'd stayed there before, so it wasn't anything exciting, just convenient. However, I was shocked at the $30/night valet parking fee, which certainly ate up the Internet special. So, we checked out the next day and proceeded to find another place. We found Chariot Inn in Glendale through a Blackberry search. A motor inn, looks like many motels you see along Los Angeles streets. But it met our needs perfectly. Yes, as the YELP reviewer said, the lobby/check-in desk had the sweet subtle smell of curry, and the Indian-American hosts were gracious, gentle, and welcoming. The room was immaculately clean. Our sleep was quiet and solid. Best of all, we paid 1/2 what we paid for the Omni. Sure, the towels weren't as plush as the Omni, the shampoo and lotion not as chic, the room size much smaller. But it had features that the Omni didn't have: free Internet, a microwave and refrig, coffee and breakfast rolls, NO charge for parking, and, once again, the sweet smell of curry. This will be the place we stay on our annual visit to Los Angeles. read more

I made some spontaneous plans to see some friends in the LA area and needed to find a place to stay, and found this place by searching on yelp. Made a reservation the night before over the phone and the guy was prompt and had no issues. When I checked in, he was really nice and welcoming. Had a really good stay, the room was clean and the price was good. They have wifi but it wasn't working when I was there. They also have a microwave and mini fridge. Would definitely recommend this place, I paid about $80 for a single night and the area it is in has a lot of options close by for food too. read more

After reading through all the negative reviews, I was a little worried about staying here. I'm glad I did not listen to them, though, because I was super impressed with the staff and the room! The man at the front greeted us warmly (despite the fact we did not get there until 9:00 pm) and was quick to get us settled. The room was clean and larger than I expected. It had basic amenities, and a large TV that, unfortunately, did not have clear reception. The cleaning staff did a great job of replenishing the amenities and I did not have them bother me while I was still in the room (like other maids have before.) They also had free parking, Wi-Fi and right across the street was a Taco Bell, Chinese take out and a Jack-in-the-Box. I think for 3 nights I paid about $180.00, and I booked them back in early September. It was in a great part of town, and only took us about 20 minutes to get to Universal Studios. I think it was also about a 20 minute drive from the hotel to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it was mostly freeway. Overall I was very pleased with this hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in Hollywood! read more

Simple nice clean room. It was pretty quiet also. I got scared because for a second I thought I saw a bed bug above the bathroom mirror but it was a lady bug. Please do not stay here! Man at front desk was very rude and not helpful at all during booking process. Then proceeded to try to overcharge me until he finally admitted he was wrong. Room was filthy and filled with trash from previous guests. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the sheets , towels , and pillows all had stains. This place is disgusting. Found 2 bed bugs running around the bed sheets no wonder I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night. Bed sheets and towels has stains. Room smells dusty. This place is trash. Room 112 will give you a nightmare. All the itch and irritation of your skin that will last for a couple of days is not worth it!! Had 20 bites total in my body! I'm not exaggerating. Just voicing out the truth about this place. The Manager gave me $25 refund as if he feels sorry about the situation but he isn't. When i complained and showed them the bed bugs he just said "ohh we'll definitely take a look on that and seems like somebody brought them in the room" Bet you this happened before but he doesn't care. WARNING BED BUGS Pros: people who run the place seem nice. Cons: BED BUGS. I didn't look the night I stayed there because I was exhausted, but I ended up with bites all over my back. I don't know if any came home with me. Fingers crossed they didn't. I was doing an antique show in Glendale. Although I lived there about 30 years ago, things have changed. I found this place and was thrilled. They let me check in early to drop off my luggage and extras. I was renting a large walk in van and was concerned about parking. The manager, Mike helped me to back in every night. The room was nice and very clean, ac was ice cold. I had an issue with the tv box, Mike spent about 1/2 an hour working on it and realized it was the satellite company, but got it back on. Just an extremely nice experience and 2 of the nicest most accommodating managers ever! I will stay again if I do another show. Thank you so much guys for everything! read more

We have spent 2 nights of 11/19 and 11/20 at this motel. We got to paid 2 nights for nearly $300.00 (actual charge was $286.72) which was a little expensive for this motel's condition. Parking spaces are so small for our van. Breakfast: so so, wish to have scramble eggs, and fruits for the price they've charged us. Room condition: OK, but the refrigerator made so much noise, and ending up I had to unplug in order to get rid of its annoyed noise. Bathroom: so old, faucet made so much noise every time it turned on. The towels looked so old and dirty. Young people talked and laughed very loud all nights long until 2 AM. Check in and check out: OK. There are a lot of fast food restaurants nearby such as: Taco Bell, Burger King, Jack In the Pot... There are a lot of gas stations near by as well. Free Wi-Fi, but it was very weak. read more

This place looks decent enough but when I got home I had nothing but bed bugs to take home with me. I got eaten alive the night I spent the there and when I got home it seems I got to take home a souvenir. It's been weeks of not being able to get rid of them and I've stayed nowhere else. I had to be @ universal studios early in the morning so I decided to stay somewhere close in the area. The moment we walked into the room my husband said "this room shouldn't have cost more then $20". What a waste of time and money. I should have paid the extra $30 and went to a decent place. The sheets were dirty, the room smelled so awful at one point while I was trying to musk up the courage to lay on the bed, I literally was debating on sleeping in the car vs. that filthy room. The bathroom had a huge hole in the door like someone had just took all their anger out on it. Please for the love of God GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Especially if you have a family. DONT DO IT! read more

Recently updated motel with a hotel feel. Rooms are spacious and there is a good size mini fridge and large flat screen TV. Beds were okay but better than the place we stayed the previous night so that's a win. Great value and does not feel cheap. read more
