When we stayed here on December 2021, we got to enjoy the lovely holiday decorations at Hotel Brandwood. I don't remember if I mentioned that you should not leave your car unattended and without paying the meter when you check in to the hotel.

Booked this via Expedia and for one nights stay it wasn't' a bad price. It was close to where I had to work, freeways and two malls and tons of restaurants and shops all with in walking distance. Portos is 3 doors down and if you know anything about Portos..I'm just saying.. So that others don't complain or say they didn't know, this hotel has no elevator. It's a no frills place, but it was did me just fine. I'm not one that spends a whole lot of time in a hotel when I'm traveling. It was adequately sized for me. I think this used be a happening hotel when the Bar and grill was open next door. I thought the decor was cute. and yes the rooms can be a little small but I thought charming and if you are coming from NY its as big if not a bit bigger for some studios. Staff is ok, but what young 20s something want to run their parents hotel, but nice enough. The morning staff seemed a bit chipper. I will stay here again if I have to come down for work. $88 for one nigh isn't gonna break me.

This hotel served its purpose in that we had a roof over our heads while on vacation but I will warn anyone who cannot trek up flights of stairs at a time, that this hotel will not be for you. I read previous reviews before booking this place and thought it shouldn't be too hard but even my husband who works out all the time found it to be quite inconvenient. I mean, who wants to work out during their vacation, right? Now if the stairs weren't so steep, it wouldn't be such a big deal but carrying all our luggage up them was not an easy feat. Then on our first night there, the AC made a noise that caused us both to shoot up out of bed because we thought the fire alarm went off. But no, it was just the AC having a whole mid-life crisis. And I could have dealt with all of that if the walls weren't so thin - we could hear all our neighbors talking and their tvs on all night long as I'm sure they could also hear us. Honestly, I won't be returning back to this hotel even if Porto's is a few doors away (which is why I chose it in the first place).

Clean, quiet and cozy boutique hotel. It's located in downtown Glendale and therefore it's next to lots of restaurants and grocery stores. Front desk is polite and check in process was smooth. I particularly liked the room decor, the comfy bed and Victorian style curtains. My room came equipped with a 32 inch rotatable flat screen TV, an alarm clock, a coffee maker, Rowenta Master Valet Garment Steamer, luggage rack, full length mirror, hair dryer, mini fridge (stocked with NOT FOR FREE energy drinks and soda), nice smelling complimentary toiletries, hamper basket with NOT FOR FREE snacks. The only downsides with this place is they charge a $100 deposit at check in, no microwave in the room, no swimming pool, no fitness center and no laundry room. The bath tub is slippery and there is no rubber bath tub Matt. Also the rooms are small with no much space! All in all I enjoyed my stay here and I would not hesitate to come back again because I slept peacefully thanks to comfy bed and NO noisy guests. In addition the room furniture was unique and in impeccable condition which gave the place a premium touch!

Parked outside the street to come check in and was told parking was on the next street over. I walk out and I had a parking ticket already on my dashboard it didn't even take 5 min checking in. The stairs were a nightmare to carry luggage. Was disappointed from the min walking into the door. The room is small the prices are ridiculous for the snacks being provided. Secure deposit of $150 is outrageous for the place. The sheets were stained with I don't know what and I had to sleep on top of the covers to avoid whatever that was. I don't understand how a hotel can even ignore the stains and keep renting out to guest like this.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I loved the atmosphere, the beautiful artwork, and the cute room. The lighting in the room is nice. The bathrooms are very clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Warning, there are a lot of stairs. If you're a person who doesn't like stairs you'll probably have a bad time. If you're a whiney person who likes to complain, don't stay here because you're going to end up annoying everyone on earth. But if you're an adult who has grown up past such things then you'll have a really great time. I didnt see elevators, I may have missed them, but if I didn't then I would probably not recommend this particular hotel to the lame or infirm, unless you have someone willing and able to carry you up and down the stairs. All that being said, this I'd a really enjoyable hotel and I can honestly say that it's a personal favorite of mine. I really enjoy seeing their artwork and being surrounded by beauty. The rooms are a tad bit small, so I wasn't able to work out, but that's okay, because it is truly a very cozy place. But it's probably better suited for a short term rather than long term. The only other complaint I do have is the shower. Which I sincerely hope was unique to room 209 and that the rest of the rooms have better showers. Yikes, you were basically either having glacial ice water pounding you like some kind of polar bear swimmer, or you're jumping aside to avoid being melted in lava like heat. So, I think I simultaneously was cold and needed to check into the burn unit when I got out.

Nice hotel at a great location and price with free parking. However, they are on the second floor without an elevator.

There are some things I really like about Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Angeles Glendale and some…read morething I don't like very much. Let's cover the pros and cons: Pro #1: It's a pet-friendly hotel. It's not free to bring pets, and it's not cheap to bring your cat or dog, but it's not as bad as other places. Con #1: You have to pay $28 per day for self-parking in the lot underneath the hotel. I hate paying for parking at a hotel. Pro #2: They have complimentary breakfast and it's better than your typical continental breakfast at a hotel. There's an omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, pork sausage, pancakes or French toast (depending on the day), bread (bagels, English muffins, and toast), fruit, cereal, various pastries, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, and more. Pretty solid. Con #2: There's a lot of noise as the hotel is located on a popular street in Glendale and it's close to the highway. At least my room was noisy. I had to wear earplugs each night (I'm a light sleeper). Pro #3: The rooms are suites so they're more spacious than your typical hotel room. There's a bedroom with a door and a nice living room area with a mini fridge and a microwave. Con #3: Some service snafus. I checked in digitally and I was supposed to have a virtual key card. It didn't work as there was an issue with the app. I requested some towels and they said they would bring them up to my room. They never did. I had to call back and they brought them up this time (though they brought a different number of towels than what I requested. Pro #4: They have a complimentary happy hour from 5:30-7:00 p.m. where each guest can get two alcoholic beverages (wells, beer, and wine). They also have some light bites such as chips and salsa/guac, pita bread and hummus, snack mix, or crostini (depending on the day). Con #4: The rooms are pretty clean and comfy, but they could be nicer. Case in point: an old hand towel was in between my mattress and the mattress box. All in all, a slightly above average experience. Without the expensive parking fees and lower pet fees, that would make a positive difference.

Honestly, everything would've been pretty mid except for that They only had one elevator working out of four possibilities for a hotel with I think 18 floors and very busy. Waiting for the elevator especially when you're on the 11th floor so if you have luggage using the stairs is not really an option. It truly made every time leaving or coming into the hotel a very annoying process to have to wait in a huge line then be smooshed in a gigantic queue for the elevator. Also, the gift shop was so overwhelmingly overpriced. A little pack of almonds like a couple ounces was 6-7 dollars. It's super close to Transit and also the Americana so that's really why we chose it for this particular location, parking was also really expensive but I used one of those parking apps to find something nearby for like $15 instead of paying well over $30 to park for a night, . Additionally, just walk your butt over to Trader Joe's across the street and grab some items instead of paying out the nose at the gift shop. Didn't eat any food there. I didn't have any problems with cleanliness of the rooms, yes, it was a little bit dated, but my main complaint was just It was really inexcusable to have three of the elevators out on a busy weekend with probably close to capacity crowd at the hotel. They should've had an emergency person coming in to fix the elevator on that day. There is an outdoor pool that's heated, it's set online. I think that there is a hot tub, but there is no such hot tub. So we didn't try the pool even though it was heated because I think we'd really just would've preferred a hot tub. I was able to use a peloton bike to work out which I appreciated, but there is no sauna. It's all locked up, even though it appears that there's a sauna, and some places online list the sauna, the sauna is not functional. The gym is quite large.

Check-in was quick and easy, which I always appreciate after a long day of traveling. There's plenty of parking in their garage. It's not free, but it's secure -- and honestly, I'd rather pay for peace of mind. The room itself was clean and had all the usual amenities you'd expect. Everything felt comfortable and well-maintained. The only issue we experienced was that the toilet overflowed. We notified the front desk, and while they were responsive and brought towels, we weren't moved to another room. It would have been a five-star experience if we had been swapped out, especially given the inconvenience. That said, we had already planned to step out and only came back to sleep for a few hours, so it wasn't a complete dealbreaker -- just a bit of a customer service miss in my opinion. Overall, the location, cleanliness, and ease of stay were solid. With a little more attentiveness in handling unexpected issues, this place would easily be a full five stars.

The clerk wasn't outright rude, but for the first several minutes seemed pretentious, like I wasn't good enough to stay there. He didn't introduce himself or ask my name; I introduced myself and asked his name after check-in, and he warmed up a bit. It felt like I'd caught him doing something wrong or arrived before he was ready. I had to ask multiple questions because he didn't offer information or engage. My customer service was on point--his, not so much. I'd been driving all day and was exhausted, wearing very casual clothes, but he felt very judgey. I asked to see the rooms after reading reviews. The first was rundown and not worth the $150 he quoted. He kept going into the back office between questions, implying he was busy or nearly full (there was only one car outside). When I asked to see the other side of the hotel, which had allegedly been updated, he bragged about being fully booked, though I only ever saw three cars. Odd. The second room was just okay, but I was too tired to find another hotel, so I stayed one night. Few things frustrate me more than visible neglect and lack of detail. There were drywall screw heads popping out, scuffed walls, holes, and water-damaged bathroom drywall from a poorly placed glass shower door--crumbling onto the floor. The floor itself was dirty. The outer entry door was peeling badly, shedding bits of clear coating onto the floor and my hands. The blinds appeared to not have been cleaned in months--which should be done regularly. The bed frame was filthy--dust, debris, bits of wrappers and food. It was clearly dirty, with oils, handprints, and dried liquids (I'll leave that to your imagination). The closet doors, off-white, had visible hand grime. The disinfectant wipes I used were brown - yuck. The lamp was dusty, an outlet near the bed had a broken metal piece stuck inside, and both the bathroom vent and hair dryer were caked with dust. The dryer filter hadn't been cleaned in ages. The countertop above the mini fridge was detaching, the bathroom shelf was decaying, and the shower glass hadn't been cleaned. The creamy drip marks on the wall--hopefully conditioner or soap--remained, and the grout was mold-stained. A simple bleach spray would've fixed it. The shower water pressure was awful, with calcification that needs vinegar soaking. It also leaked from the stem. Meanwhile, the sink had too much pressure. The cleaning staff were wonderful--always offering help. The issues here clearly stem from management, not staff. I realize this isn't a four-star hotel and that my standards are higher than average. Having worked in property management and emergency response, I've been in many homes across all conditions and know what "clean" should look like. I attached photos (which don't even capture all of it) so others can decide for themselves. Public beds and showers should be cleaned frequently so dust, germs, and bugs don't build up. The initial clerk did warm up by the end, and wasn't outright rude, just awkward and pretentious at first. When I checked out, a different man was working. He was extremely pushy, insisting I stay longer despite me saying I had to get back on the road. Then he handed me a clipboard and said it was mandatory to fill out--a sheet listing my name, room number, and space for comments, stacked under previous guests' notes. I told him I'd review the hotel online instead. He insisted I fill in each section, so under "comments" I wrote "review on Yelp." Other than being pushy, he was friendly--but it was an annoying end to a stay that wasn't worth the cost. Not the worst stay I've had, but definitely not one I'd repeat.

Last night, I saw a young woman enter the hotel clearly under the influence alongside a young man. At first, I assumed they were together, but something about the situation felt off. The young man seemed to be following her and trying to control the interaction while insisting she was "fine" and didn't need help. What stood out to me was that Joy did not simply take his word for it. She stepped in, calmly took control of the situation, and continued checking on the young woman despite the man trying to speak over her. After some back and forth, I heard Joy directly ask the young woman if she knew the man. Shockingly, the young woman said no. At that moment, Joy immediately asked the man to step away and questioned why he claimed to know her and why he was following her. Once confronted, the man left. From what I witnessed, the young woman was then safely escorted and able to recover in safety. As a bystander, I cannot express how much respect I have for Joy. In today's world, many people would have ignored the situation or brushed it off as people "just having fun." Instead, Joy trusted her instincts and potentially protected that woman from a very dangerous situation. Because of her attentiveness and courage, that young woman was able to safely wake up without a stranger in her room or something far worse happening to her. Watching this unfold honestly made me feel safer staying at this property. Employees like Joy are rare, and the Conrad should be incredibly grateful to have someone so observant, compassionate, and proactive representing their hotel.
