Best chips I've had in Scotland so far. We have food allergies and the chef came out and accommodated soy, tree nuts and dairy. Lamb burger on the gluten free bun was awesome. Great view. Friendly staff. Great place for lunch after urquart castle.

Excellent food and service, directly off the A87. Prices reasonable and food very fresh.

Honey glazed goat cheese served on a bed of orange dressed salad leaves... delish.

The service is so personal and friendly! The purveyors recalled us from our visit just at the start of the pandemic. The best turmeric lattes and wonderfully made lunches. Great coffee too!

This was the cutest little stop. They had a play place for our 2 year old. I recommend the seedless raspberry jam!

Please book ahead and stop asking the waitress if they have a table while holding the door open - it was a cold and blustery summer evening and she didn't have time for those who can't read the sign which already said "Sorry the restaurant is full tonight!" There is just one waitress and I only saw 2 people working in the kitchen. It would take a while before she could come over to take the order and a while longer for the food to come. We both ordered the squat lobster as starters. It was similar to the crawfish tails but the meat was more tender and sweet. I ordered entree sized scallops that comes with a salad with crispy lardons and purée - they are only available as an appetizer on the menu but the waitress allowed me doubling the size as an entree. The scallops were so sweet and cooked to perfect perfection. It came with butternut squash puree (wished there was more) and crispy lardon, cubed butternut squash and capers salad - wished there were more betterment cubes and less capers as the later made it too salty). Wished I could gave them 4.5 starts! This is the quintessential Skye experience we aimed for! A small local restaurant with locally sourced seafood!

Come for a drink or a meal, and stay for the vibes, history, and immense talent on stage.

Re: Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding…read more To the Greek couple we met in Inverness, with great apologies, we suffered confusion of which delicious desserts we had at various restaurants around the city, inadvertently directing you towards a place that did not serve sticky toffee pudding. We should have pointed you towards MacGregor's as having the most delicious sticky toffee pudding, now verified after having several others that did not perfectly balance sweet with salt as that of the sticky toffee pudding at MacGregor's. If the pub is full, please find your way to the end of the bar and the small door to the left that takes you to the cosy table service room where Jess and other wait staff, including little Nala, will take the best care of you. We also highly recommend the steak & ale pie and fish & chips, should you require something a bit more than the sticky toffee pudding. Again, apologies, and we are certain you will have a fantastic experience at MacGregor's!

Augustus and Glencoe, causing it to close for over 7 hrs, we found ourselves in need of hotel rooms. Back to The Lovat we went. The prix fixed dinner was delicious. First they sat us down in a lounge/sitting room for "snacks" while we played cards, then we were taken to the dining room for dinner. They presented each course, explaining the preparation, etc. We really enjoyed our experience and the delicious food. Everything was presented beautifully. We stayed in the garden rooms which are a newer addition to the hotel. They had great views. The rooms were clean and they provided goodies in the coffee/tea/refrigerator area. We all really enjoyed our time in Fort Augustus and look forward to visiting The Lovat and Station Road restaurant again.

It's such a great atmosphere with a cozy area to eat in front of a wood-burning cast iron stove. It's a very pet friendly place as well. We saw a cute doggie enjoying the warmth inside the bar. We ordered the chicken casserole special. It was good despite the price being a little too high for what it was. I'd expect to have a puff pastry on top of it for that price. Although, it was very tasty even though the presentation was not all that great. It was served with mash potatoes instead of chips. It was good. They have a big variety of local taps. I went with the Jock Pumpkinhead Stout from Loch Lomond Brewery while my husband had the Man O'Hoy from Orkney Brewery. We were very happy with our local brew selections. It was a very nice atmosphere for lunch. If you're a Harry Potter fan, then you may want to take that hike from here to the filming location of Hagrid's Hut. The pathway up to the hut is just a short walk from the inn. The inn itself is kind of unique with the ice ax and ski décor. It reminded me a little of Ketchikan for some reason. Maybe it was the 5 Points of Contact photo that I saw by Peter Daynes. There's also a display of ice axes designed by Hamish MacInnes. Our tour guide in Ketchikan was coincidentally named Hamish. Wow, everything does come around full circle. It all turned out to be a nice lunch experience in the Highlands.
