I would probably do a 3.5 if possible. Had lunch there on Sunday. I was the first customer right after it opened up. The hostess ignored me and walked out with a bunch of menus, someone else said she would be right back. After the hostess came back, she just stirred at me without saying a word. I said one for lunch, she said ok, then asked me inside or outside, led me to a table. After I was done with lunch, I walked past her to leave, she looked at me again, not a word. Just very strange behavior for a hostess. The waitress was great, explained the food when I asked about portions, got me water without ice as I asked., checked on me often. I decided on the smoke trout from the appetizer for my lunch. The smoke fish smelt a little fishy but tasted fine. There was a smudge of dark green/ black stuff under the lettuce that was under the fish. I suspect it was some rotten lettuce that didn't get picked out. It didn't touch my food, so I continued to eat, but informed the waitress when she checked on me. She agreed it looked like rotten lettuce and said she would inform the kitchen. No action from the kitchen or staff to address this. The old inn is lovely. I asked for an indoor table, so my view was the garden. If sitting outside you could have the middle falls' view. You can park there and walked to the middle and upper falls trials. Conclusion is the restaurant is just so so, the restaurant needs better training for the hostess and in the kitchen. It was neat to visit the historical inn and visit the park.

Went here for the first time with a group of 12. We were seated at 2 tables next to each other. Service was great. Each table had a waiter. Food was great and so was service. It does get loud in there so hard to talk. Views out the window is beautiful with the fall colors

"Don't go chasing waterfalls Please stick to the rivers and the lakes" (TLC) Well, you won't see this at too many other hotels, because just a few steps from the Glen Iris Inn's front door is a humongous waterfall on the grounds of Letchworth State Park. The Glen Iris Inn is smack in the middle of the spectacular Letchworth State Park. If you walk out the front door, you'll see the falls, but you can follow a walkway and stairs to get an up-close view of the Middle and Upper Falls. The Inn is more like a B&B than a hotel. Our guest room on the second floor was appropriate to an old house with an old school key and deadbolt lock. When you leave your room, you'll need to use the key to lock your room door. Our room had a nice comfortable bed, a dresser, and two nightstands. The HVAC in the room and the shower in the bathroom shower were great. There is no coffeemaker in your room, but coffee was served on the second floor. The staff we interacted with (front desk attendant, restaurant concierge and our server) were all great. The house restaurant (Caroline's) was beautiful, and we had a nice dinner there. But being that the Glen Iris Inn is an old house, there were some age-related issues. There was noise from the 3rd floor room above - footsteps and creaking floors, but I know that's typical of old house acoustics. There was no TV in our room, but there was one on the 3rd floor lounge. There was a scarcity of outlets in our room, and one I found was so old and worn out, my charger fell out. Our bathroom had a small pedestal sink with pretty much zero counterspace. The staircase from the lobby to the 2nd and 3rd floors was steep and had an open handrail at points, so be careful. There's no elevator, so if you get a room on the 3rd floor, be prepared.

This has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. Great ambience - classic and cozy . In that setting, I had to order a comfort meal for lunch - Pot Roast . It was delicious - Tender beef with mushroom gravy , homemade mashed potatoes , and buttery vegetable medley . The service was top notch too . It was a very busy afternoon, since it was the closing weekend for the inn, but their staff handled it effortlessly. I can't wait to come back next season ! 5 stars

Beautiful Innn, history, and view. We got drinks, appetizers, and dinners. Everything was wonderful. It feels very old world regal inside. hundred year old charm.

Went for a wedding and the service from the bartenders, bus table people, was really good. They only had one bartender for majority of the night making drinks for about 170 people. The party was told to change their music (throwback hip hop, rnb), then the bartender was sent off a bit early. The food was ok. Overall be careful if you're having a wedding here, I wouldn't for a large group maybe a smaller wedding less than 100.

This is the restaurant for the Glen Iris Inn. It is situated at the Middle falls in Letchworth State Park. We stopped in for lunch. I enjoyed my salmon, and my dining companion liked her brie with berries, but said the brie should have been warmer. Still, we both found our meals to be entirely satisfying.

First off, I have to say that I had higher expectations for this dinner. However, I understand it was a busy night and there was also a small wedding taking place there as well. My food was good. Just good. Nothing that made me feel like it was worth the amount of money but it was a good dinner. The prime rib was good. I would've liked some au jus with it but still good none the less. The potatoes were delicious. The green beans were green beans, nothing crazy to report there. Overall, for the amount the meal cost, I expected a house salad or something to come with it instead of just one roll and butter. I had never been here before since I heard it was pricey and waited for a special occasion. That being said, I would go somewhere else next time for a special occasion. I would come back here for some of the beginning plates or maybe for their lunch menu.

We went to Glen iris inn when i went to visit in my grandma in New York, its a tradition to hike the park but its a treat when whenever we go for dinner or lunch at the inn. This year we did and the scenerie is beautiful they do such a good job with landscaping, and setting up the little details, also the view is just amazing from the restaurant. I got a hugo spritz and split their Caesar salad and fried with my sister, the salad was definitely big enough for both of us. everyone else got their steak and said it was pretty good. Its nothing crazy but for the view and vibes i think it was worth it. The staff is amazing and so sweet. If you go you need to make an afternoon of it, hike a little and grab a drink and app at the inn. My family stays there when we have big family events and likes it because of the details and waking up on the falls. Its not too big either.

This is for the restaurant. It was the only place in the area for food and we just finished taking pictures with the waterfall. Service was okay, we did have to wait awhile to be seated. The food was mediocre. The Applewood smoked trout was good but for the price we should have gotten more quantity like a few more pieces. Entrees were average, nothing that really stuck out in terms of taste or appearance. Prices should either be lowered or add more quantity to the food, since it's already pricey.

Very busy all year round. Walked in without reservations. Waited 20mins to be told there were NO seats available and to come back.... yea right Call first to make reservations, then show up!

Thus there was all the noise of getting children up and dressed for school, plus the school bus stopping in in front of the room next door, PLUS the yelling and car tires squealing when the parents had an early morning fight and he decided to "peal out" to show his anger. In addition, the advertised morning coffee in the office was unavailable EVERY day I was there, as the manager left for her day job early in the morning. As for the room, there was a funky, stuffy smell, and the carpet felt greasy. Two stars for the manager's friendliness, and comping me a day for the fight next door. And it WAS a place to stay.

There were two queen beds, a table and chairs and a fridge with microwave. It was clean and we settled in for the night. The room took a bit to warm up but once it got going we were fine. Check in process is like you see in the old movies, no keycards here. You get an actual key with a plastic tag with the room number. Credit cards are accepted but we paid cash. "Jenny, Jenny, Jenny Won't you come along with me…read moreYou know that I love you We could live so happily" (Little Richard) Great location just minutes from Geneseo's Main Street restaurants and the State University campus. Our room had a nice TV and workstation, the bed was comfy, the HVAC and Wi-Fi worked well, and the bath and shower were fine. Included breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, a waffle machine, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas and apples, oatmeal, breads, and pastries. The only odd thing about our stay was the check-in process. The attendant wasn't very friendly and was so slow and silent while working on her computer, we feared that our reservation had vaporized and drifted away into cyberspace somewhere.

He said " It'll freeze up if you crank it all the way down!" I replied "Is 69 degrees cranking it all the way down?!" He told me I could change rooms. I told him thought "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I'm leaving. He told me he could refund $50. I started laughing and said "that's ridiculous, it's not even 1 am. You should give me a full refund". And I left. I drove right by my next Hampton Inn reservation in Ohio 8 hours later. And drove straight home. The Hampton Inn in Geneseo to speak to "Stephanie" today inquiring about where my refund was. She asked what happened and I explained. She said " someone should have offered you another room ". I replied "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." She said, " Well I was going to give you a $50 refund but I'm not, because you're cussing at me!" I said " I sure hope you're recording this call, because I haven't cussed " at you" once! She said, " You said "If I'm packing my shit up, I'm only doing it once." I said" That is not cussing at you, I'm talking about packing my shit up!" She hung up on me. I'm done with Hampton Inn completely. They clearly can't make a repeat guest comfortable and I drive for a living. I'll be staying elsewhere.
