Pharmacy staff has always been attentive and friendly, even when customers have not shown the same courtesy (it's not the pharmacy's fault for not having a prescription ready if your doctor never called it in, Customer Crabby Pants!). Store is very nice. They have great items for gifts (birthday, housewarming, you name it) and they will gift wrap. They have saved me more than once. I'm not a Vera Bradley person but they stock lots of it! Yes, you will find more toiletries, first aid stuff at CVS but Glen Head Pharmacy has the basics as well as more upscale items. The Glen Head Pharmacy is still the best around. The insurance companies are limiting the mom and pop pharmacies to only monthly refills in an effort to make you go to big box pharmacies for a 3 month refill on some prescriptions, Glen Head beats them by a mile with service, professionalism and by far cleanliness. Just came here because they carry a specific CBD brand I use for my anxiety and they are an authorized retailer. Very cute local, independent pharmacy! Half of it is a gift shop with lots of small, tasteful gifts (personalized mugs and glasses, toiletries like Crabtree & Evelyn, Voluspa candles, shawls and purses). Was greeted as soon as I entered and got pointed to the pharmacy where they had the whole line of products I was looking for. The employee that helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving me advice on how to take the line, (a very pleasant surprise since too many places sell these products without knowing anything about them). Prices were same as on the brand's website. As for parking, I got a spot. Seems like the lot filled up as it was close to closing time. I had a look at the place on Google Maps and parking looked fine. Not sure what happened to the other person, but maybe take some CBD and chill? It's not far from the shops in Greenvale, so next time I'm there I'll be sure to stop by since it's nice to be able to avoid ordering by mail and getting these products in person. read more

As a resident of Glen Head for over 30 years, I have been a long-time customer of Glen Head Pharmacy. As everyone in Glen Head knows, the pharmacy moved to the old post office location and it has been modeled to look like an upscale department store. So far, so good. Unfortunately, all that glitters is not gold. Very recently, my daughter was called a b##ch by one of the employees at the pharmacy. The owner had sent an employee out to police the parking lot. When it was discovered that my daughter was not going into the pharmacy, she was cursed at by the employee. This is not the way to win friends and influence people, and it is certainly not the way to treat customers. Customers are not your enemies, and they should not be treated as such. There is absolutely NO justification for an employee to curse at ANYONE for ANY reason. I am not the first customer who has experienced this bullying behavior regarding the parking lot issue. I have switched my business to CVS where I am sure there will be no epithets coming my way. I don't care how much Vera Bradley merchandise they hawk in there - cursing at customers is a classless and undignified act. I am sure the business will continue to flourish, but it will do so without my patronage. read more

As someone who has worked for small businesses, I am always a big supporter of mom and pop shops. However, even with my support, I still expect a level of respect and kindness. It is really hard to explain, but I always get a vibe of getting an attitude, especially from a one of the employees behind the pharmacy counter. In the past, I have had issues with my prescriptions not coming in electronically or my insurance not playing nice, (neither are their fault) but both times when those situations happened, I would get an attitude from the woman with short hair and, in my opinion, way too much makeup. Now granted, some of them are very nice, especially the very young lady with dark hair and glasses. She was extremely courteous, well spoken and attentive. She took my number and prescription and told me they would call when it was ready. I never got a phone call. The next day, I ended up coming to the store to check to see if my prescription is ready. While I was waiting, I got this very dirty look from, surprise, the same woman as I described in the earlier paragraph. I am doubtful she remembered me since I haven't been that store at that point in months. The employee that ended up helping me this day was very nice. (I think she had reddish curly hair?) As much as a hate to say it, but when it comes to the pharmacy, bigger stores like Walgreens or CVS have it right. They at least can send you a text or actually call you when your prescription is ready, and I have never had a negative experience at their stores. Between the lack of communication and that employee who really needs to be more mindful of her tone and behavior, I am going to be taking my business elsewhere. read more

They have never been anything but kind, courteous, and polite. Moreover, they go out of their way to help with insurance issues, information and deliveries. I love this store. It is a local business, and the people there are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They also have a nice selection of gifts. I would like to add that, regarding the one negative review that has driven their rating down, there are plenty of parking spots open to the community to use when patronizing other businesses. The GH Pharmacy parking lot is owned by them, and it should only be used by their patrons! There are maybe 8 spots owned by the Parmacy. There is plenty of parking across the street for others to use. I have a feeling that the incident was escalated by the person who was caught parking there illegally, not the pharmacy employee who discovered it. read more

The Glen Head Pharmacy has been around since 1924, and I only know that because of the wonderful memorabilia featured of the historic Glen Head area. Since its beginning, my great-great-great grandmother had her prescriptions filled here, and everyone of my family members since her has continued to patronize this amazing establishment. It has evolved greatly. It now offers an array of personal and gift items. The pharmacy is definitely a place that offers personal shopping experience. I do all my gift shopping here because the staff is very helpful and they wrap all my gifts with such care and perfection. The owner John, who I have known for many years, has always helped me with my health issues. It is wonderful to speak with such a caring person. I trust him more than my own doctor. The Glen Head Pharmacy has the most extraordinary group of people working under one roof! read more

I have NEVER had a problem with the people or service at Glen Head pharmacy. EVER! I have had my teenagers in there by themselves, never a problem. Teens do steal and it is a problem - it's a family owned store and unlike CVS the missing merchandise comes out of their pocket. I suggest these other people ( I think it's just one frankly) find a better meeting spot. My problem with CVS is that they don't care who goes in there and that it IS a hangout. read more
