These folks have been around a long time and are respectful of autos and property. They are timely. For Ann Arbor, the prices are fair.

This is not a legitimate business. They have multiple names, no website, and ONLY accept cash. They made somebody I know wait several hours in below freezing weather (his car was impounded by them in front of his eyes, he accidentally parked in a parking spot only for University of Michigan professors that isn't clearly marked, particularly not in the snow), AND lied to him. They REPEATEDLY told him that "a driver will be there in 15 minutes! He waited from 3 PM to 10 PM. When I called the number for them online, the first thing that I asked was who contracts them the most frequently in Ann Arbor. The man said " What?" I said "What businesses or institutions contract you the most frequently in Ann Arbor?" He replied, "MA'am, do you need a tow truck? We're busy and it's cold out" then hung up on me. They literally forced someone to wait outside in the cold for 6 hours, always saying "15 more minutes and a driver will show up!" It's so unprofessional to have multiple names for the same business, NOT have a website, NOT accept credit card payments, lie ("15 more minutes" turns into 6 hours of waiting outside, refuse to answer questions AND rudely bring up the fact that it's cold outside (don't customer service reps sit inside)? This isn't even a business. Y'all need to stop leaving negative reviews and instead contact IRS about the company potentially not paying taxes and potentially committing tax fraud. They don't have customers, leaving a bad review won't help. But contacting an organization to investigate them might put them out out of business if they go to prison for "accidentally" not reporting the entirety of their paid ONLY in cash earnings. read more

Predatory and Unethical Practices My vehicle was towed right in front of me after being parked for less than 10 minutes. When I immediately spoke to the tow truck driver, he told me he would release my car and not tow it if I paid $200 in cash on the spot. I didn't have cash, so the tow proceeded. I was then informed that getting my car out of the impound would require $400, cash only. I was told the wait would be 3-3 1/2 hours because they were busy. In reality, it took approximately 10 hours to retrieve my car. I waited outside in freezing, snowy conditions for over three hours and repeatedly called the office. I was told a driver would arrive around 7 PM, then repeatedly told "15-20 minutes," until about 10 PM. When the vehicle was finally released, I was again required to pay $400 in cash only, and I was not provided with any receipt. The cash-only demands, lack of receipts, misleading delays, and request for money on the spot to avoid towing raise serious concerns. This was an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend this company. read more

I had the worst experience with this company today. They poached me and others, I watched, as they removed or excuse stole vehicles out of a lot within 5 mins of parking mind you I am on out of town grad student that needed 5 mins to interview during an art festival I had no idea that was going on. My fault for not taking the time out to read signs but in rush to complete my graduate program. The two men laughed and thought it was entertaining to remove vehicles from a lot that had PLENTY of space around 4pm. Had no problem throwing out profanities and leaving a lone women to fend for herself in a city that was unknown to her. Shame on this business and their ethics. read more

I had an absolutely horrendous experience with this towing company that I feel compelled to share. They charged me an outrageous $400 to tow my car (a borderline extortionist level price), even though it was parked legally in a lot that I pay for. When I called to inquire about my car, I was given an address and a price, but they failed to mention that it was cash-only, which I only found out about after seeing hand written notes taped up to the fence. As a woman, upon arriving at the provided location, I found it to be almost completely deserted, located behind another dilapidated building with only a fence ans some kind of loose screen. All signs were handwritten and there was nobody on site to speak to. This made me seriously question the legitimacy of the company and whether I was being scammed. To ensure I wasn't being scammed, I had to call the police department. Although they confirmed the company was legitimate, they couldn't provide any information on the pricing or any protections for the cash-only payment, which is completely untraceable. After locating a nearby ATM, I had to call the company a second time and wait an additional 20 minutes for someone to arrive from Ypsilanti. The employee who eventually showed up refused to provide his name, adding to the already shady atmosphere of the entire ordeal. He did, however, send me an email copy of my receipt for my records. This entire experience was unnecessarily stressful and expensive. I will be following up with the City of Ann Arbor to report this business and to demand legislative protections and price caps on towing companies. I have already reached out to my landlord to request they contract with a different towing company. This situation should never have happened, and I strongly advise any companies looking for a towing contracting service to steer clear of this unprofessional and predatory towing service. For some reason I noticed my location is stated as Arlington, VA. Worst service ever. They are not a trust worthy towing company. I was towed from a hotel parking lot that I had a room at. They charged me a ridiculous amount of money and when I went to retrieve my car the next morning the charge went up. The owner was running a shady business and I hope Karma comes back around. If 0 stars was an option, it still wouldn't be low enough. My car was towed from a parking lot, for which I had I parking pass, without any notice. Once the car was towed, they again failed to notify me. As a result, after my car having been in their lot for only one day, I now have to pay $347 in cash. Open 24/7 my ass. I waited here for over an hour and still was yet to see whoever the fuck is getting me my car. I called and they just mumbled and hung up on me. Multiple times. Previous reviewers have said it took them a couple hours of waiting, so I wasn't surprised. It should not be legal for them to charge such an obscene amount-- more than any towing place in the area-- and keep my car hostage because they're too incompetent (or just don't give a shit) to do their damn jobs. When the man (owner "Jimmy") who was supposed to get me my car showed up, he was anything but friendly. While I understand his job sucks and he is probably tired of dealing with people, I would expect at the very least some semblance of professionalism. Instead, he argued with the other person waiting for their car, and was ultimately very rude. Additionally, he smoked his cigarette inside the tiny office where we had to sign paperwork and pay the obscene amount of cash to get our cars back. So not only am I out $347, I also reek of cigarette smoke and feel one step closer to dying of lung cancer. This "service" (if you could call it that) is ultimately a money grubbing scheme who cares very little about the people whose money they take. If told to be there at a certain time, it is not outlandish of me to expect service at that time... not two hours later. And the fee to regain my property was utterly absurd. Where to begin... This company is running a sketchy operation. When we arrived a bit after 5:00 PM to the smoke-filled, "24-hour", Glen-Ann building to pick up my car, we knocked on the shoddy plexiglass to summon the attention of the clerk. After a couple minutes of finishing her cigarette, she labored her way to greet us. We requested to pick up my car and she informed us that it would be $317 to retrieve the car. My car had been towed only a few hours ago from about 2 miles away, so this rate seemed a bit extreme (lots and lots of surcharge/processing/etc. fees). We offered our Visa card, to which she pointed at the sign that says, "CASH ONLY". We were understandably upset, but polite, and said that we will return shortly. 15 to 20 minutes later, we arrive with the cash and... THE DOOR IS CHAIN LOCKED. We called management, who said it was our fault for "taking over 1 hour to get back" (which was far from the truth). And he said that they'd send someone to help us within 20 minutes. ALMOST TWO HOURS LATER (while we were standing in the rain) a disgruntled driver showed up to take our $317 cash and showed us to the vehicle. Their fees are considerably higher than other towing companies in Ann Arbor. They're all-paper records and cash only. As far as customer service goes, this was the worst experience I think I've ever had, anywhere. Everyone was miserable and rude in some capacity. I'd rather wait at the DMV, in cold wet socks, surrounded by screaming babies, while fighting a pack of rabid wolves before I re-visit this crooked establishment. My car was towed. I understand that they are acting on an agreement with the Ann Arbor police. This review is not about the injustice of that or the exhorbitant charge for getting back the vehicle. Rather, it is about my experience dealing with them. When I was ready to pay and get the vehicle, the facility was not open. They are supposedly working 24 hours. I called their number and was told that it would take an hour for someone to get there as they are all busy towing. After an hour and a half I called them again and asked if could come over. They said yes. When I reached there no one was there. Called again and I was asked to wait 5 minutes. Someone arrived 15 minutes later and offered no apologies for the delay. Straight away asked for my license, registration and to have $400 ready in cash. I demanded to see my car first to which he agreed. I straight away noticed scratches on the front right. When towed it had all 4 wheels on dollies and the rims have sustained some damage. He was trying to pull photographs out at the time of towing and we did not notice any of those scratches or damages to the rims. Their photo quality was not optimal as it had some glare. I plan to contact my insurance and ask how to get Glen-Ann Towing to fix the damage to the vehicle. read more

A scam artist business. They are waiting for kids that are moving in/out of the apartments getting ready for school. If you leave your car unattended, they will snatch it and hold it ransom. They towed my sons legally parked car, we have video evidence and will be filing in small claims court as well as with the BBA and any Ann Arbor business licensing bureau that is available. Quite frankly, based upon all the reviews and our experience, this seems to be a criminal enterprise masquerading as a business. The fact that they only take cash shows you how shady it is. Just a heads up to parents dropping off their kids, especially around U Towers. While you are unloading and dropping off your kids, tow company that goes by Budget/Budget Stadium/ Glen Ann has a person waiting for you to leave your car they then call tow company and charge you $317 cash only. They towed my car within 10-15 minutes along with my purse and phone. Explained all that to them but guess what they don't care. Company just waits to prey on you and your children. This place is TERRIBLE. Like the other reviewer, my car was towed from my own house with my permit in the car. I was told it would cost $297 to get my car back -- nope. Less than 12 hours after my car was towed, I was told I actually had to pay $317. Even after I explained the situation and showed the permit to the tow truck driver, I was still made to pay the full amount. OH, and possibly the most crucial part to the story: When I arrived at the location, ready to pick up my car, the door of the building was locked and nobody was at the premise. This was at 11am. When I called the company, they said a driver would be there to open the door and get my car in 15 minutes. Nobody showed up until 45 minutes later, with absolutely no apology. My car was towed for apparently "blocking", but they had no proof of this, and would only take $317 in cash, and I was told they had an ATM, but when I arrived, that machine was broken. When I went to pick up my car, there was another guy who got towed when he was temporarily parking to help his friend to move out. This place even charges differently depending on their mood. I was arguing with them because I was towed for no reason, and they charged me $297. The guy who was towed for helping his friend, he paid $150. This is fucking ridiculous. Comically absurd interchange with driver named "Bob." He started the conversation by introducing himself as my name before realizing that his name was Bob. He then went on to start calling people "liars," to which I was highly confused, not knowing who he was referring to. It turns out he was upset with my insurance provider, Progressive, for "lying" to him about no driver being present for him to tow the vehicle. I was immediately thrust into the position of serving as Bob's pseudo therapist, providing empathy and reassurance that people cared about him in this world. He was so angry with Progressive that he refused to tow it, an effort to punish "the liars." I felt like I was part of an SNL skit, too funny! Meanwhile, my vehicle is left un-towed and Progressive Insurance is left trying to clean up his mess. Ann Arbor Police seem to use this service - I suggest they stop since it is not the best use of my tax dollars. My car recently died suddenly (and by dead, I mean salvage-time, not repairable) in a parking lot. I was able to get home and spent less than 24 hours trying to research a salvage company to pick up the car. This would require my title (which I had to dig up and find) and schedule coordination with the salvage company. The next day, my car was picked up by this company before a salvage company could be arranged. To get the car release was going to cost me $350! That includes $45 administrative fees, and other B.S costs. I called them to explain the situation with the salvage, and the owner acted like he could help by handling the salvage process himself. He said to bring my keys, the title and the cash to release the car (he would discount the fee by $150). Well it turns out the salvage value of the car was $250, so this shop owner was pocketing the other $100 ($250 salvage - $150 discount he offered = $100 in his pocket). Okay, perhaps the hassle of not dealing with it myself was worth it. But when I arrived on Saturday to handle the transaction - the store was closed. Mind you, I called before I drove to the location to make sure I had everything necessary for them. So I had to call again when I arrived and wait 30 minutes for someone to arrive at the store to handle the transaction. THEN when this person arrived, he told me I had to drive to an ATM as they don't take credit cards/debit cards for payoff. When I return and review the final invoice, it seems they charged me $140 in storage fees ($20/day in storage x 4 days they had it should only be $80). When I contested this amount, I was told they charged me a $50 "tow out" fee on the car. Recall, the salvage company would tow out the car for free AND pay them $250! So in addition to the earlier $100 profit they were making on this salvage car, they had just added another $50 on top of THAT, plus this mysterious $45 administrative fee. Needless to say I will be contesting these fees with the Ann Arbor Police Department. But be wary of calling this company for personal use, and be sure to complain to the City of Ann Arbor and ask them to switch to a more honest towing company for police impounds of stalled cars. This company clearly operates by squeezing customers for lots of extra CASH (oh, easier to hide the theft that way perhaps) knowing they hold the car as collateral and the customer has no other recourse other than to pay what they ask. read more
