We had to guess whether to seat ourselves or wait for a host. The food itself was mediocre at best, with the eggs and bacon cold on a warm plate. The coffee was weak, but bitter. The pricing was on par with other truck stops, but high considering the quality. We then had to go into the crowded gas station attached to pay and use the filthy, run-down bathrooms. She came inside to play the MD Powerball & MegaMillions Lottery while I looked for my wallet to pay for gas. My daughter was told by the Indian male store associate Alex and another Indian woman that worked with him that evening "she couldn't play the lottery and leave." My daughter questioned as to why not. She was told by the associate Alex "you have to be 21 to play the lottery." Yet they didn't ask her age or for photo identification. So my daughter pulled out her state issued ID to show them she'll be 20 in a few hours and let them know she has played the lottery since she turned 18 and there has never been a problem. I came inside about to pay for gas when my daughter advised me of what was happening. I then told Alex and the lady I will play the lottery for her and they never asked me for identification; just proceeded with my request after I advised them by pulling up the MDLottery.com website that a person need only be 18 years of age to play any lottery or purchase scratch offs in the state of (Maryland). These two associates were rude and racists for no reason to a young adult. Out of all the gas stations on Crain Highway we could've stopped at, we chose this one...big mistake but never again! I didn't purchase any gas and will never come to this gas station again. It's sad because I just purchased a new home less than 7 minutes away from this gas station and have 4 business trucks, 2 business vans & 3 personal cars. I will now tell my neighbors and anyone I come in contact with in this area about the experience at this Dash In establishment.

My husband walked in to grab some drinks and ice cream for our kids and an employee was mopping and was very loudly and rudely voicing about how my husband was walking around the whole store while she was mopping. With it being such A big deal that my husband was shopping at this store during active hours at 4:05pm and was messing up freshly mopped floors, we will not be walking through Bird Dogs store again. "Hopefully" the employee was able to clean up all the spots my husband made while purchasing merchandise. With my husband being a Hispanic man it felt like he was being racially mistreated because when a white man with mud all over his shoes walked in as my husband walked out nothing was said to the white man.

I have seen better deals at other stations nearby but sometimes you just need gas and this place is right there. The pumps always work and I have never had an issue with the card readers which is more than I can say for some gas stations lol. The convenience store inside is actually pretty well stocked. They have snacks and drinks and even some basic groceries and toiletries which has saved me a few times when I needed something quick. The coffee is actually not bad either, way better than I expected from a gas station and they keep it fresh throughout the day. The staff is friendly and helpful. The guy at the register always says hi and is quick with the checkout. They also have an air pump which is free and that is a huge plus because so many places charge for that now. I have used it a couple times and it always works. Now for the not so great parts and why its four stars instead of five. The prices are really the biggest thing, gas is definitely higher here than other places in Arlington. I get that its convenient but sometimes I feel like I am paying extra just for the location. Also the parking lot can get super crowded during rush hour and people are always zooming around in a hurry which makes it a little stressful to navigate. I have seen a few near misses with people backing out with out looking and honestly it gets a little chaotic. The bathroom situation is not great either.
