Boswell's Auto Service - Happy Customer

After moving to Waldorf, I was impressed with (and a little skeptical of) Boswell's nearly 5 Star Yelp rating. After using Boswell's twice, I quickly experienced how they earned and maintain their reputation. The owner, Tom is not afraid to tell you his rates up front and give his best estimate on time needed to diagnose/fix. He is candid about when he will be able to get to your car. I never felt pressure for any repairs - Tom is like an experienced doctor who gives his best diagnosis for what is wrong with a vehicle including options and costs for different courses of action. After 5 years, Boswell's is still our go-to auto repair shop. Through many repairs over the years, both small and large - Boswell's consistently provides fair prices, good service, and great communication. Thanks, Tom! That is because I haven't had a great experience with either of them. After having a very terrible experience at JJ's Auto service which is right next door and please see my review for that. I had an excellent experience at Boswell's which is where I got everything fixed for a fraction of the price. Bill and Tom, the latter of whom is the owner we're super friendly and nice. Tom's wife answers the phone and is polite and courteous. I wanted the job done quickly and efficiently so that I could get my car back on the road otherwise I wouldn't be able to move forward with the rest of my work in business meetings they were very understanding of that and made sure that they did everything to accomplish it and exceeded my expectations I have absolutely nothing horrible to say about them because they're such wonderful folks and apparently they've been in business for a very long time and they know what they do and they're good at it. If you ever find yourself stuck in the area and need car repairs I would have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone

Later that same day, I called Meineke and was informed by what I assumed to be the manager that nothing was wrong with my brakes and that I could wait until two oil changes to have my brakes changed. I picked up my truck on Saturday, February 7th. The manager gave me my truck's fob and told me there was no charge. Now I took this very seriously, but because I've been bringing all my vehicles to the Meineke and was told nothing was wrong, the manager cut me a break. But after driving the truck for a few days, the noise in the truck got worse. I return to Meineke on Wednesday, February 11th. I ask the mechanic to speak to the manager. The mechanic informed me that Saturday was his last day. I then explained that I have a lifetime warranty on my brakes and that they are making noise. He replied that it didn't concern him, but the mechanic refused to look at my truck. I left Meineke and took my truck to Martin's Servcie Station where i spent $944.78. On brakes, rotors, RF brake hose, and wear sensor. I called Meineke to file a complaint by phone on Wednesday, February 11th. I was told that I would receive a follow-up call in 48 hours, working days. No one responded to my complaint. I have attached pictures of the brake condition before the repairs were performed. I had to pay for brakes, rotors, and other items that were under warranty and were installed by Meineke. And the owner of Meineke brush it off as if it is not a big deal. Poor service....

Prior to the my recent experience, I had a positive interaction with staff; and I felt I could trust the staff at this location. Being a single, senior with disabilities, and on a limited income (SSD), trusting a mechanic and the staff is invaluable. However, my recent interactions with the same staff and location have left me broke and devastated. I realize mistakes happen, and everyone is learning on the job. However, when I feel I am being taken advantage of based on issues based on my gender and age, this is unacceptable and I want others to be aware of people who will smile in your face while stabbing you in the back. Every business should be proud of their staff and the work that they do and stand by this; shame on those that take advantage of others. There should be more honor in business so we can all benefit together.

THESE FOLKS ROCK!…read more So I found myself at this place twice in a week's time. First, we had arranged to have four new tires installed on our 2011 Ford F-150. Despite the size of the truck we were out the door for under 700 with some pretty decent tires. Additionally, they didn't take too long either, I got a call about 45 minutes after drop-off. About a week later, driving out other vehicle, a 2012 Ford Focus (we like Fords); I heard the metal-on-metal awesomeness of a worn break pad. I had put it off long enough, I needed new breaks. Simultaneously, I needed to be at my house by noon to let he heating repair guy in the house. It was winter in Southern Maryland farm country...it was important I not miss this appointment. I needed to rent a car, which I reserved through Priceline at Hertz (see my review about that experience). The trick was how to get there to pick up the car. Presented with this dilemma, the folks at Mr Tire saved the day. They gave me the 30 minute round trip ride to the rental place twice (pick up and drop off) and I was back in my own car, this time with brakes, by 3pm. Also, they are competitive in price. I needed a rotor cut along with new pads, still out the door for under 400. They were also very gracious about thanking me for my service once they realized I was active duty. All around, these folks are professionals. It's clear to me that they care about their customers and repeat business. THESE FOLKS ROCK!

I called at 2:30 PM, only to be told it wouldn't be ready until 4:30 PM. No communication, no consideration for my time, and no real explanation. To make matters worse, Daniel was rude and inconsiderate when I spoke with him. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this Mr. Tire location. Poor communication and even worse customer service.
