I had a very disappointing experience with Progressive Automotive and Tire Shop…read more I brought my car in for an ABS sensor issue and was charged $720 for what ended up being an oil filter housing gasket replacement. Considering the gasket itself costs around $30, the final bill felt extremely overpriced, especially since I was never given a clear breakdown that justified the cost. What concerns me even more is that I was told this repair was related to fixing my ABS sensor problem. After scanning the vehicle, I don't understand how an oil filter housing gasket would reasonably be diagnosed as the cause of an ABS warning issue. The repair did not fix the ABS problem at all. I was upfront that my main request was to have the work completed within 24 hours. I was informed there would be a $100 rush fee, which I accepted. However, I'm still left wondering where the remaining $620 in charges came from and why the pricing was so high for the work performed. I understand that labor and diagnostics cost money, but customers deserve transparent explanations, accurate diagnoses, and fair pricing. Unfortunately, I did not feel that was the case here. Based on my experience, I would recommend that anyone considering this shop ask for a detailed estimate and explanation of the diagnosis before approving repairs.
