My first stop, and honestly the first signs of life once you enter Virginia is this Sheetz. And of course the shiny red awning drew me in. Who am I kidding, I will always stop at a Sheetz, and do. I knew it was going to be a long haul day, and at the wee hours of the morning, before everyone was starting their work commutes, I was ahead of them. I was on my way for much needed rest and relaxation. My objective for this stop was to use the facilities and grab a drink. Both of which went splendidly well. Or as close to that as could be expected. The restrooms may have needed a bit of a touch up, but it was early in the morning. Went straight to the cooler and got myself a water. Dirty bathrooms and poor set up. To check out, even self (just 1 kiosk) everyone has to go through the same line. The lady at check out said she was the only one there and she was definitely overwhelmed. Bathrooms were filthy, and out of stock. Given the state of the store, we definitely decided against food. This small Sheetz has Tesla charging open to Non Tesla vehicles but we didn't see any. However, notice the chargers shape, even in poor shape a Tesla charger keeps on ticking. read more

This Sheetz is a far better experience than the one at Arnold's Corner. There are more than double the gasoline pumps. The store itself is clean and neat, and the staff is friendly. There are also Tesla charging stations. Access is easy from both directions on US301. read more

Sheetz is a brand I am quite familiar with, as they have many stores in my home state of Pennsylvania. About once a quarter, I have to visit this part of Virginia for business. I can usually get from my home to to my client site on just under a tank of gas, but as I head back home, I almost always stop at this Sheetz to fill up. The gas prices, here, are almost always the lowest in the area. Even if there are others comparable, I would still go to this Sheetz because: 1) Located on the main road, at an intersection, so it's easy in, easy out 2) The store--including the bathrooms--is always clean 3) The young staff is always friendly 4) It is big enough (plenty of gas pumps) that there is never a wait 5) There is no credit card surcharge read more

Five stars for having Tesla supercharger spots. There's also a trail head next to the station to access the Dahlgren Heritage Rail/Trail. I'm yet to go into the store but I've never understood the appeal of "gas station food". The parking lot is usually pretty clean but the trailhead is filled with litter. It's not the station responsibility to clean that area but most of the wrappers and bottles look like they may have originated at the station. read more

When coming from Maryland into Virginia after crossing the bridge, this is the first gas station. Wait until you get here to get gas because it is a lot cheaper than in Maryland! Plenty of pumps, clean restrooms and a hot breakfast if needed. read more

This sheetz always has low gas prices in comparison to southern Maryland right across the bridge. The bathrooms are clean when I go in and they have a decent selection of snacks. There's options for everyone if your doing a family road trip. read more

This is one place in Dahlgren that I have not been to for lunch. The whole idea of having lunch from a gas station never seemed appealing to me. But for some reason, I was craving a meatball sandwich yesterday (which I haven't had in years), so I decided to give them a chance since this is one of their specialties. All the sandwiches here are made to order, MTO in Sheetz-speak. You have to enter your order manually in a computer console choosing toppings, sides, drinks, etc. I chose a 12" meatball sub on white bread with provolone cheese and oregano. The computer gave me a receipt. You then have to take the receipt to the main register and pay for the sandwich, then wait for the sandwich to be made. It seems out of order, but that is apparently how it works here. Don't worry, I messed this up too. Additionally, I added 3 chocolate chip cookies from their Sheetz Shweetz Bakery-to-Go. The sandwich was cut into 2 six inch sections that were individually wrapped. Being hot and saucy, these wrappers became quickly soggy and messy. The sauce was unremarkable, the meat was not really seasoned at all, the bun was boring. Blah. The cookies were soft and sweet, so I am split between 1 and 2 stars. So I am giving them 1.5 stars. read more

What I like most about this place: 1. The gasoline is extremely affordable. 2. The milkshakes are delicious. 3. The snake selection is plentiful. 4. The orange juice is not from concentrate. 5. It is a great place to fill up one's tires as the pump has a digital meter and there is no charge. What I think could be further enhanced: 1. The pumps do not read my barcoded Sheetz Fob so I find it too much trouble to go inside before buying gas. 2. The lines are long but the service is good. 3. One of the vagabond guests was proselytizing and appeared to be a little insane and touched me without my permission. This has to be my favorite gas station hands down. read more

Always delicious food inside and super easy to order but they take foreverrrrrr to make the food. Only complaint! There is just a short list of options for food in this town and I definitely would say you get fresher food here since you KNOW they're making it to order, but hardly anyone has 15mins to literally just stand still while you wait for your meal. I have been to this Sheetz location many times over the years. Their food service (i.e. sub ordering) has always been fast and delicious. The long lines (mostly of Marylanders trying to buy cheap cigarettes) are less than desirable and the gas pumps are always full. This location is less crowded than the location further down 301 though. Any time I am leaving Maryland to head back south I will continue to stop at this location to partake in the best convenience store steak and cheese in existence. read more

My first time coming here, I was blown away by what a gas station would serve for food. The kiosks have a huge selection of food and beverages to customize to your liking. The lines may seem long at breakfast, but they do a good job of calling out your number when your order is ready. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and mocha latte and they both have the quality taste I would expect. I left satisfied. There was plenty of parking and seating inside as I see that the people that get food here are in transit to another destination. I would definitely come back if I come back to this area. read more

My family and I stopped by Sheets in King George. We needed to stretch our legs and perhaps grab something cold to drink. There was a short line in the women's bathroom, but that is to be expected on a busy weekend. There was a staff member in there restocking toilet paper and such. She was super friendly. Back near the ordering counter, I ordered their cake batter milkshake. I must say it was well worth every calorie that it contained. It is now literally one of my top 5 milkshakes of all time. I must admit I didn't know what to expect from a gas station, but I must say, it runs neck and neck with Wawa. If you happen to be out on the rode and feel the need to stop and you see a Sheetz, do yourself a huge favor and go inside. Make sure you order the cake batter milkshake. It's a Sheetz, that's all there is to say about that. Nothing really spectacular about it. This is just my morning stop on the way to work for a cup of coffee. Sometimes they seem really understaffed in the mornings. I would gladly bump it up to 5 stars if they could staff their store. read more

Prices are low, churros are good. But aside from snacks. I have only had bad experiences with the food here. I don't really recommend stopping here on Sundays, especially during the summer. Traffic going back to Maryland is always horrendously awful. read more
