Finding repair shops that are competent in maintaining these vehicles, without breaking your budget can be challenging. My Prius Plug-in has a little over 91,000 miles now, and I want to be proactive in staying a step or two ahead of any issues. The repair guys at Apex Auto Care (Located in Waldorf, Maryland) are an outstanding resource for Prius owners (and other vehicle models too) in this regard. They're astute with the uniqueness of the Prius Egr system, and make repairs seem almost routine (despite the complexity). They walk you through the repair process, and even share images of the working area of your vehicle for context, in real time. Their prices are very fair, the facility is clean and organized, and they're located in Southern Maryland, which is very convenient for me. I used to travel to Northern Virginia for competent Prius maintenance for years, but since learning about and soliciting Apex Auto, that's no longer necessary. Anyhow, ask for Bob Beavers. He's the man!

NTB - Well Earned 5 Star review…read more I recently needed to replace all four tires. After researching prices, I found a great deal through NTB's website and brought my laptop into the Waldorf, MD location (the one facing Crain Highway, in front of Sam's Club and Home Depot). The store manager, James, assisted me directly. He reviewed the online listing I found and confirmed with corporate that the specific tires were no longer available in my size. Instead of leaving me stuck, James quickly located a comparable tire, honored the price match, and scheduled my installation for two days later once the shipment arrived. When I returned for my appointment, my paperwork was ready and the install began immediately. While waiting, I had a great conversation with James' assistant manager and another customer, where we were given helpful information about tires and maintenance. Halfway through the install, James requested that I come back to the work area to review what the technician had discovered. This is the point where many shops try to upsell unnecessary work, NOPE... not here. The technician showed me my brake pads and explained the uneven wear. Instead of pressuring me into an immediate replacement, he honestly advised that no action was required yet, but that I should recheck every three months. That level of professionalism blew me away. James is awesome and runs an outstanding operation, he's professional, knowledgeable, and leads a team that clearly shares the same values. Because of this experience, NTB has absolutely earned me as a loyal customer. Recommendation level: Absolutely

I had my car towed to this Aamco because it was recommended for transmission replacement. Only my engine light was on. However, instead of concentrating on the transmission, they told me the catalytic converter was blocked and it needed to be repaired before the transmission could be replaced. Then I get a call about an electrical problem with my SUV keeping it from starting, and again I was told it had to be fixed before the transmission could be replaced. They kept my vehicle almost two months trying to fix the aforementioned problems. When they "fixed" the issues and called the warranty company for how much they will pay towards my transmission claim; according to them the warranty company wanted them to find a rebuilt transmission instead of a new one; then finally the company representative told them they would only pay less than $2,000 toward a new transmission. I requested my vehicle back, they charged me over $2,000 for the work they did. The manager took me on a test drive and I asked why are all these other warning lights on; he told me there were additional problems that needed repair. When I got in me vehicle to go home, it would not start. The mechanic mumbled something about my battery. He got it started with a jump. They succeeded in doing irreparable damage to my vehicle's electrical system, and they did not replace my transmission. This left my vehicle worst off then when I had it towed to them.

I was quoted $619 to replace and I asked why it's so much because the average replacement is less than $300. He said the top and bottom was cracked; however, it shouldn't matter since the top and bottom thermostat housing is glued together by the manufacturer and it comes as one unit. May you suffer irrevocable spiritual damage, from this day forward and forever more.I regret that I share the same pigmentation as you and you are the kind of person who gives our kind a bad name, with your irresponsibility and your laziness and your lies. This man is a pathological & compulsive liar, who lies, knows that YOU-KNOW he's lying, yet continues lying in your face, with an expressionless look on his. Most of the pics are not even his handiwork. He kept my Camaro for 3weeks starting in January, telling me every other day that he'd be done in 2-days and when I call him in 2days,  he'd refuse to respond. He moved my pick up date 11 times...yes 11 TIMES!  I have photo and email evidence of all. Each time he moved those dates, he'd tell me my car would to be ready in 2 days, when that day came, he'd move it again, stating that he just had to finish the bumper (He was always finishing the bumper). I asked him few times to send me progress pics especially because he initially suggested it. He never sent one and stopped responding when I asked. The third week he calls me on a Tuesday, stating he has completed my car and would definitely have my car ready for me on Thursday, with an extra free caliper paint job as well because " I had been so patient". Then on Thursday, he refused to pick up his phone when I called him. He refused to return any texts until I texted him that my brother was dropping me off.... then came the furious texts, (and a call) asking me not to come with my brother and to hold off on coming because he had a lot of paperwork for me to sign. So I asked him to leave the keys with his workers (He had boasted several times to me that he has a lot of workers helping him). Then he said the front and rear bumpers were not attached yet.  He asked me NOT to bring my brother along with me.  He said he'd come pick me up on Friday to come get my car. I asked him if he had a picture of the completed work. 6 hours later he sends me a picture of the rear bumper with a tiny section of my car wrapped....... He had only done the work that day. On Friday when I called to confirm him picking me up as he promised verbally and in writing, he refused to respond to me in a timely fashion. My brother called him, and he told my brother he had promised to pick me up and asked why I had gotten someone else involved.   I set out to get my car anyway and did not alert him until I got there. He was not at his shop. (whilst I was on my way there he had texted me to say he had not attached the bumper because he got into an accident). When I got to his shop, and after threatening him with police action due to thievery, he showed up, opened up his garage door and lo and behold was my car with with the bumper on and just one tiny side of my car done. He told me it was completed just that morning. Then 5 mins into my getting there, I began to record our conversations and this lying creature had the audacity to tell me that whilst I was standing there, with my brother as witness, he had affixed the bumper back on........... I was standing right there. My brother was standing right there. That is sickness. He needs a mental hospital asap. He is lazy. He has a very ridiculous and irrational temper. He is Erratic.  His communication skills are seriously lacking. He also was not in an accident. I Paid him what he asked in full. He owes me money now.
