One of my favorite places to pick up gifts or something for myself. I love that they were not inly founded here in Seattle but that they give some of their proceeds back to foundations. I have ordered online but prefer to visit a shop in person to hand select votives. They're always coming out with something new that surprises me. This shop in particular has a hot shop so you can watch them making glassybabies from the back window.

Oh, shocker... a 5 star review! I know, I know - I can't help it. Here's the deal. I pretty much let Yelp be my local guide for all things awesome. Sticking to highly rated places helps me find the best gems in Seattle. And of course I've known about Glassybaby for years and years, but it wasn't until today that I finally visited their home base and glassblowing studio. Do not make the same mistake. Get in here now! It's incredible. The store isn't big because the products are small, but you can lose an hour in here admiring the subtle differences in each product, trying to guess the names (labels are on the bottom) and just really falling in love with the variety, creativity and beauty of these locally made products. Not into candles? You're wrong. Just come here and try not to love everything you see and touch. Plus, they have tumblers/glassware! Everyone's into drinking fluids, right? Water, cocktails, you name it - they've got gorgeous glasses for your hydration. Aside from the shop itself you can actually look into the studio and watch up to 10 or so people making Glassybabys right.in.front.of.you. It's so cool! There's another back room with another group of folks working and apparently with everyone working at the various stations, the studio can churn out 800-1000 products a day! It takes about 3 mins to complete each votive. Remember that proceeds from sales support non profits too. It's an all around awesome company who's doing great things for local business and people around the world in need. Just stop reading and come down here already! I'm headed back here for gift giving season, for wedding season, and for when I finally decide the color scheme of my new condo. Squee!

I always like coming here with my wife..I am always amazed at the art of glass blowing! This is always a hit with the wife and something the whole family would probably enjoy!

Red Ticking is a one-of-a-kind gem... a treasure trove of beautifully curated vintage finds. I've…read morebeen shopping at Red Ticking for ages (since I first drove by and became enamored with the classic red and pink ticking chair in the window.) In a sea of mass-produced beige sameness from big box stores, Pam has created a beautiful collection of Italian linens, pottery, glassware, original art, mirrors, housewares, candles, gifts, and pillows. (Oh the vintage pillows!) As I've slowly updated my little bungalow over the years, Pam has provided impeccable interior design support. She designed my kitchen, built me a stunning heirloom-quality sofa, and designed my airy and light window treatments. She's assembled a team that reflects her passion for timeless quality and reflects her natural warmth. Pam has helped me create a sanctuary of a home that's unique feels like me. She perfectly blends vintage and new to create memorable environments with real personality and love. She introduced me to my favorite artist, Mary McGuire whose stunning watercolors that adorn my walls. Whether you have a large-scale remodel in motion, or you want to inject more character and life into your space, or you just need a sweet gift, Red Ticking should be your first stop.

(Pardon the non-professional cellphone photos!)…read more Our family of four had a wonderful experience working with MDID on our home renovation. Michelle took the time to understand each of our individual styles and what we wanted our space to feel like, blending all of our unique preferences seamlessly into the design. And, it wasn't an easy task with the differing opinions and preferences in the family. She balanced creativity, practicality, and our constraints to bring our dreams to life. Michelle's ideas encouraged us to step just outside our comfort zone, resulting in a home that feels both unique and authentically "us." Throughout the process, Michelle and her team were organized, professional, and detail-oriented. They provided options at different price points and were always mindful of our budget, which we really appreciated. Communication was always clear and prompt. She stayed engaged with us and the construction company, flexibly adapting to the inevitable curve balls that came our way. We did face some real difficulties selecting a general contractor and major bumps along the way with different subcontractors, and Michelle risked offering insights from her depth of experience in a very respectful manner to guide us. She remained attentive to every last detail and was an advocate for us throughout the whole design and build process. We know we couldn't have gotten the house we now have at the amount we spent without MDID. We loved working with Michelle and her team. We know we saved time, money, and our sanity, and we feel very spoiled living in our beautiful home! It's gorgeous. We highly recommend working with MDID.

Michelle and her talented crew are a lot of fun to work with, and most importantly they "get" the style my wife and I want, but are too overwhelmed to do ourselves. They really know their stuff, and I'm continually impressed by how they pull pieces from multiple vendors together into a cohesive whole. Definitely a huge step up from me buying a pre-designed set at a retail store! They're money very well spent in exchange for less stress and a beautiful home, and they're great about selecting pieces to fit into our budget for each project, too... without it looking like we set a budget!

Such a fun experience to try in Seattle!…read more The staff were outstanding, with Mikey in particular going above and beyond! He made the whole process a blast, walking us through each step with energy and enthusiasm that kept things fun and easy to follow. Even while assisting multiple guests at once, he made sure we always felt supported and never left waiting. Once you're familiar with the process, you'll select a vessel and explore 30+ scent options displayed along a scent wall. The team helps you discover which fragrances blend well together to create your ideal combination. This is where Mikey's expertise really shined! He suggested scents I hadn't considered, and they worked beautifully with my favorite scents. After creating your perfect scent ratio, the oils are blended into wax, and left to set for 2-3 hours. Prices were comparable to other handmade candles you find at farmers markets, plus ELM uses a coconut apricot wax. Be sure to book a reservation, they fill up quick!

I know Elm Candle through work and remembered some of my work colleagues coming here to do a team bonding event. My girl friend was turning 30 and said she would be doing a birthday activity here! Our scent specialist, Mikey was super helpful! They had everything prepared for our ladies to partake in the session and the instructions were on the card which was super cute since it also had a 'Thank You' at the back in support of their small business. You put your name and select which item you want to make. I chose a room spray since I have SO MANY candles at home! Mikey had us choose which container (room spray only had one kind) but candles had a variety. I wanted to make the reed diffuser initially but they were sold out! Next, they had a variety of scents on the wall so you could write those on your card and star your faves! Coffee beans were provided to help with your nose since you smell so many scents! Mikey was so patient with all of us and walked us through the process! I was super pleased with my scents. He evaluated each of our cards, asked us what kinds of scents we are into, and then gathered 3-4 essential oils to smell -- you can mix and match. You can omit one or add another depending on your preferences. We left with cute little bags! It was such a wonderful experience! It's a little pricey but definitely worth it.
