If I could give negative stars I would. Take your car repair anywhere but here. My 2023 suv was…read morerear ended in early March 2025. Gerber had my car for repairs for nearly 3 months a with 4+ attempts to repair it. I was told it would take roughly 2 weeks. I fully understand delays when parts take longer than expected to arrive or when additional damage is found. What I don't understand is the level of incompetence of the staff repairing my car (specifically general manager, Steven R). I arrived to pick up the car on 4/11/2025, the replaced exhaust was HANGING from my car and scratched/dented. The paint was not repaired on the lift gate and bumper was scratched. The interior of the car was COVERED in a layer of dust (see attached photos) that was not only in the back of the car but also throughout entire vehicle including the front seat. I was offered $50 towards a professional detail. Please let me know where you can find that service for $50 because that is an insulting offer. I'm confused how returning a STILL DAMAGED car even more dirty than when it was dropped off is acceptable. Returned to Gerber to pick up car 4/17/25 the paint was still not fixed and dust was minimally wiped on some surfaces. Car was left there again for repairs. I spoke to Steven R who acknowledged and reviewed all problems with the car with me. I dropped off car for paint repair 4/28/25. I had informed Steven R there was an audible rattling under the car in the exhaust that occurred at 58 mph every single time that speed or faster was reached. I spoke to Steven again regarding a paint issue that was not resolved, who confirmed the paint on the rear liftgate would be addressed and the rattling noise of the exhaust would be repaired while I was out of town until 5/2/2025. My car was not ready 5/2 but was delayed again to 5/6. I arrived 5/6 to pick up my car and was informed my Steven R there was no audible rattle, it was a cover on the back of my car (noise was most definitely not coming from inside the car) and he claimed to have test driven it. I requested to speak to his supervisor, Matt R, as the rattle was still clearly audible at 58mph. Matt R met me later in the day at Gerber and confirmed noise within 60 seconds of our test drive. I sought a second opinion by a Rick Hendrick BMW dealership recommended repair shop that was not Gerber Collision. He confirmed that the lift gate was not centered and had uneven gaps on each side. He rode in the car with me to confirm the rattling was coming from the exhaust at 58 mph or faster. He also noticed there were 5 missing screws on the rear bumper that Gerber neglected to replace when they replaced the bumper. He expressed concerns for the way the new exhaust was assembled as well as certain parts were touching and should have a space between them. My car was returned to Gerber and another rental car was requested by Gerber. I reached out to Gerber regarding update on car 5/22/25 as I had still not heard back. I was informed that the rear windshield wiper was damaged by Gerber and needed repaired. He also let me know my car would not be done until likely 5/28/2025 or later. Attempted to pick up my car on 6/5/2025. Received an alert on my BMW app (photo attached) that something was wrong with the wiper or lighting. Inquired with Steve R who said everything was working. Drove my car and the rear windshield wiper is installed incorrectly. It was facing the left direction and swiping down across the back of my car. It should be facing the right. After nearly 3 months of poor service, I took my car to a different collision repair shop to complete repairs and would HIGHLY recommend you never use Gerber especially if it is managed by Steven/Steve R. His customer service is some of the worst- gaslighting, mansplaining, condescending, etc. It was honestly impressive how bad this service was.

I originally thought this was going to be a 5 start experience. The place was clean, well…read moreorganized, and staff seemed very friendly. The person running the front desk was very eager to get my repair scheduled. Although my schedule was flexible, she was pushing hard to get it on their books ASAP. She certainly is good at sales. The job was 20 hours of repair. They had the car for over 120 hours or 15 working days. Not sure what was being done with the car during the other 100 hours. No proactive updates or estimate to completion could be given during that time. In fact they never reached out to me, I always had to call. Was told on Thursday, car will be ready on Friday. Received a text to that affect. Then Friday - no car, no response. Monday, again, I had to call them. The front desk sales woman, she had a litany of reasons why I was given incorrect information. She assured me when "I get the final papers, I will call you." Another week goes by, another text my car is ready. So I waited for the call, no call. So I called, the front desk woman was busy but will call me back, because my car "should" be ready. But I didn't receive the call, so I waited. Another weekend with no car. Monday morning - I call (again). She said the car is ready. I go to pick up my car. I asked her why she didn't call me to let me know. She "had the paper". I didn't yell, didn't scream...paid my bill, told her I was disappointed. She not once thanked me for the business. The work done was fine. Again, all signs point to this being a 5 star place, but their customer service - once they start working on your car - is 1 star at best.

Customer service to resolve a minor repair issue has been abysmal. I have called the customer…read moreservice number...it takes you to an AI assistant. When you ask to speak with a person it says it is transferring you and then no one ever picks up. It also tells you to go to the website. When you go to the website it gives you an 800 number to call or text. When you text, it gives you an 866 number to text. When you text the 866 number, it replies with "an agent will be with you shortly" and that's it...no one (or bot) ever responds to additional messages. Tried to report on the website but get an error message "Oops. Problem on our end. Try again later." I just need my windshield wiper fluid line hooked back up. Have used them previously with no problems, but can see if you have ANY issue, it is impossible to speak with a live human being unless you drive to the physical establishment.

I have an older ford pickup. The back glass is broken. I called safelite. Told them what i needed…read morereplaced. I was quoted $214 for the glass and installed. Cool so i set an appointment for 3 days later. The day before the appointment i received a call from safelite and they more than doubled the cost to $457 and did not explain why the safelite auto glass in manning South Carolina was supposed to do the work but i canceled the appointment due to the unexplained increase in the cost. Ill not do business with a company that increase the bill at the last minute or one that doubles the bill with out telling me why.
