    Creme brûlée

I've been to Glass House twice now and here are my thoughts: The good - Beautiful space - close to Kendall Square - good sized portions The just ok - food is just ok, I've tried a few things now and it's all ok, nothing I would go out of my way to go get or have a craving for - rigatoni was under seasoned and desperately needed salt - creme brûlée was advertised as "passion fruit" but had 0 passion fruit flavor, it was tasty but just basic flavor wise - service is also just ok, staff is very laid back which can be a good thing, but also means no one was really checking on us, someone in our party was unhappy with their meal but it took so long for the server to come back that they just gave up on saying anything about it, drinks were empty and no one came by to ask about refills despite the place being empty Overall this is a nice place for a "fancier" meal at a price point that will get you bang for your buck.

Came here on a Friday evening for an early dinner and the place was pretty quiet - there is a ton of seating, but not many parties occupied the space. By the time we left, the vibe was similar and it wasn't super lively. The hostess wasn't super friendly upon entering and when I was brought to my table (the other member of my party had gotten here before me), she just walked in a direction, didn't wait for me, and just walked away before I even got to the table. Very strange. Our waiter wasn't particularly helpful either - either he wasn't very experienced or didn't care, but he was a little standoff-ish. The menu was pretty self-explanatory so it wasn't a big deal and we got our orders in quite quickly. The drink was really nice in my opinion - I'm a fan of citrus so the Juniper Goddess was really pleasant. The chowder was great, tons of clam and a large portion size. The octopus was precut which was nice and cooked well, not too chewy and the sauce it came with tasted nice as well. My main entree was nice as well, the salmon being super tender and the sauce it coming with complimenting the fish well. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. The price was a little steep honestly and the service didn't make up for it though. I probably wouldn't come back unless it was someone else's choice, but I will say the food was super delicious at least!

Love the vibe here! Got drinks twice here and loved the rosemary spritz the best. The cauliflower buffalo wings and the Brussel sprouts are great. The fries are a great pairing.

Had a lovely date night @glasshouse450 . Very modern decorations and plenty of event space. The service was phenomenal and the food came out extremely quickly. As part of Dine Out Boston, there was a three-course dinner special for $41 a person which I would say is extremely reasonable. We each ordered different things for each of the courses, but recommend the ahi tuna tostadas as the appetizer, the chicken breast as the main, and the crème brûlée as the dessert. The other options were acceptable but nothing too outstanding. On Fridays, they have beer and seltzer flights. We also ordered two cocktails that were lovely as well. Will definitely return on another occasion to try the regular menu. Drinks: 8/10 Food: 7.2/10 Ambiance: 7.5/10 Overall Experience: 7.7/10

What upsets me more than a restaurant that has an identity and tried to encapsulate that, but fails, is a mediocre restaurant with no identity whatsoever. The menu is all over the place and there's no real 'specialty' to look out for. I chose the fish tacos specifically because of the food-to-price ratio. The flavors were fine, but the fish was a bit dense (as in not flakey). There was enough to bring home. The pretzels were good, but I'm not even sure I can credit this positive to the restaurant because they openly admit that they're not the ones who make them. The cheese sauce, which I presume the restaurant did make, was awful--watery and more beer than cheese. Let's be honest. Places like these stay open because bosses in the areas take their employees and put the bill on the company. For that purpose, it is fine. Everyone can find something they want (if only up to that vague "new American" food standard). But I wouldn't go here for any other purpose.

Very solid choice for group events. Great drinks, good food, and a wonderful outdoor area with games (Jenga and pingpong), a gas fireplace, ample seating and lounge chairs. Drink selections were slightly limited, and we wished there was a larger TV monitor in the dining area.

Glass house is a great place to grab a few drinks and appetizers with your friends after work or during one of their many special events. We've eaten there a few times and attended their Oktoberfest (which was phenomenal btw... put it on your calendar for 2019). They really excel in the beer and tap selection, as I would expect from a tap house. They have a variety of offerings and rotate taps fairly regularly based on the brewery release schedules. If I were rating them on the drinks alone I'd give them 4 stars. The food is where I have mixed emotions. The food itself is not bad or poorly executed, the appetizers are a good value and well executed, but the entrees are overpriced for what you get. The Thai Beef Salad is a great example where the flavors were quite good and fresh, but you got maybe 3 small pieces of meat. I'm not expecting an 8 oz sirloin or anything, but for the price it seemed a bit lean on the meat (pun intended). Their food is well-executed and plated with a lot of thought and skill, but each time when we paid it felt a bit high because of the food costs. That said, we have not had anything bad there but I feel from a value perspective this is one of the lower values we've been to since moving to Boston (at this price point). Please note that while most people would view 3 stars as a bad rating, I actually like the Glass House a lot and have been there multiple times. However, for the price point paid for food, there are other places I think that offer better value for the price point.

Charcuterie and burrata with friend green tomatoes

Cute local spot in Kendall square with lovely outdoor seating, some fun bar games and and a nice interior with a funky central bar. We started off with the charcuterie board and burrata with fried green tomatoes, both were the highlights of the meal. The pasta we shared next was mediocre, but they brought it out already split into two portions which is always a nice touch. Staff was friendly and brought over an adorable rose gold bowl of water for my pup who was sitting on the patio with us. We split a bottle of rosé, but will be going back to try some of the many creative and tasty looking cocktails they have on their menu. Overall this is a nice spot with plenty of options, but nothing phenomenal compared to some of Cambridge's other incredible eats.

Came for Boston restaurant week. Food is good but not stellar, with the exception of the crème brûlée that was amongst the best I've had. Clam chowder is supposedly award-winning, and was quite good. The pita that came with the hummus was delicious. Steak was cooked well but a little cold, and the steak sauce was flavourful. However, the service left much to be desired. The hostess asked us 4 times if we were a party of two, which was written on our reservation and verbally communicated multiple times. We sat for 15-20 minutes without seeing a single server pass by...no water, no drinks, nothing. Turns out they forgot about us but to the credit of our waitress, the service did improve significantly once we were able to flag someone down. Overall a meh from me.

Glass House is an oasis in an otherwise office-heavy part of Cambridge. I've come here on 3 occasions so far. Two Sunday afternoons and one Friday afternoon, all around 4pm. Each time, it's been practically empty upon arrival, but it does start filling up as it starts to get later. It's best to go when the weather is beautiful, as there is a spacious patio with tables & outdoor bar, and even if you're sitting inside, it's nice to feel the sun come through the large windows (it IS a "house" made of glass, after all). Celebrate the nice weather by grabbing a drink! I've had the blackberry basil margarita as well as the cucumber cutter. Both were refreshing although a bit pricey. They also have a surprisingly impressive draft list. On the menu, most just say "rotating draft" of the brewery, so you'll need to ask the bartender what is currently available. I've had the Boulevard Ginger Radler (gotta love those Kansas City brews!). You also might find Maine Beer Co, Fiddlehead, Night Shift, and more faves. During the summer, there is live music on the patio starting at 4pm. The musician played a variety of genres, from country to pop, Jimmy Buffet to Justine Bieber. It's was perfect: not too loud, catchy, and set a laid-back, fun vibe. As for food, I've tried a variety of appetizers: charred octopus, flatbread, house-made chips with onion dip, hummus, burrata, fries. Nothing bad in the bunch! I've had the Mediterranean Bowl for lunch which was fresh and filling. Again, pretty pricey, but good quality food to pair with your drinks. There are also games that you can play out on the patio! Two cornhole sets and a big Connect 4 are over on the far left side. Straight through the patio toward the back, you will find two ping pong tables. For these, you'll need to request the kit with paddles & balls from the bartender, and you can't take your drinks to that part of the space, but it's a fun, different activity to enjoy with your friends! Glass House gives you all you need for a laid-back, sunny afternoon. Live music, games, good food & drinks. You don't need glasses to see that this is the place to be!

I really, really, REALLY wanted pancakes. The website said brunch goes until 3. We get there at 2:50. They said they were no longer serving brunch and they've moved to their limited menu, because brunch ends at 3. You can imagine the puzzled look on our faces when they told us it ended at 3pm but it's still 2:50pm. They said we would have been fine if we were 5 minutes earlier. Weird that 2:45 is fine but 2:50 is not. We were annoyed, to say the least. But we were hungry, we didn't know what else was around, we needed to eat, and it already took us 30 minutes to get here in an Uber. Two guys came in after us, also before 3, who were also really excited for brunch. They too were shut down. We ordered off the limited menu. It was okay. It was fine. But that's not the point. I might have made a sound when I bit into them. Cooked to perfection. A full blown flavor party in my mouth. The scallion pancakes were the only thing that did not hit for me. The dough was thicker and heavier than I prefer. I love mine light and airy like traditional scallion pancakes. If they leaned that way I would have been obsessed. Our main courses... baybeeee The Dan Dan noodles... I did not even get a bite. I went to ask my sister for a taste and they were GONE. All of them. That says everything. My other sister loved the dumplings and even more that they fried them for her instead of serving them traditionally. And the sauce with those dumplings... Let me tell you about the sauce. I am OBSESSED. I took some home and Eduardo generously gave me more to take. That is top tier service and an at home sauce party, lol. My fried house rice was excellent. The mix of veggies and flavors was perfection. With everything else we ordered I could not even finish it. And then... dessert. Eduardo and Paulina surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake that was so light and decadent, topped with fruit and homemade whipped cream. Next time I am absolutely saving space for that. The customer service was truly top tier. The decor, the food, the staff, the background music. Everything PERFECT. My sisters and I sat for hours. We laughed. We ate. We shared emotions. We were present. That alone tells you how comfortable and welcoming this space is. I would go back today. I cannot wait to bring my husband and some of my fellow foodies. Yelp Elite gang... this place is officially five star approved. GOO!

We decided to order some appetizers, which were definitely the stars of the meal! Highly recommend the crab rangoons and scallion pancakes. For entree, I recommend getting a sushi roll. Both the salmon and tuna rolls are delicious! The udon noodles were a let down and just too salty but everything else was amazing! It is a bit pricy for the food you are getting but overall a great dinner experience. Staff is super friendly and food comes out really quick. This spot is also stunning on the inside making it a really fun spot to check out.

But it was super clean and had a genuine, chill vibe. To my surprise, every single person there -- from the staff to the patrons -- was incredibly friendly and warm. It caught me off guard how kind and attentive everyone was. The service was EXCELLENT , and I'd easily give five stars for both cleanliness and hospitality. As for the food, it was okay. I ordered the calamari, and it was decent. I should have tried the spice bag because the folks seated next to us ordered it and it smelled delicious! The espresso martini was absolutely bomb, and everything coming out of that kitchen looked and smelled great. The service and atmosphere made the experience memorable. I could definitely see myself going back for a couple of drinks or to catch a game -- especially because it felt good to be treated with such genuine warmth in a space where I didn't necessarily expect it. I think our server was Samson, maybe, and someone else served us, I didn't get his name- but thanks for your hospitality.

First come, first served poilcy. We first came on a Sunday afternoon, but were met with an hour and 45 minutes wait for a table of two. The following rainy Tuesday, we tried again and were able to get seated immediately, next to a window overseeing the water. I had the seafood platter and a cup of chowder. My wife had whole lobster for $40. TONS of delicious food. Four days prior, Union Oyster House had whole lobster for about twice the cost. All of the food was delicious. Boston Sail Loft was a great send-off restaurant to end our Boston trip. Thanks again to our new friends from Boston for the recommendation.

Started with the cup of clam chowder that comes dripping from the cup. They use a lot of dill here and come out hot. A bit on the salty side but oyster cracker helps with that. The lobster mac and cheese came with a salad. The lobster mac had a nice broiled cheese top and a creamy inside. Nice lobster and cheesy flavor to it. I got the warm lobster roll and changed it to come with onion rings for $1. The onion rings tasted homemade. Slight crisp to it and thick onions. The lobster roll was massive and the amount of lobster it came with was incredible. Poured the hot butter and squeeze lemon on it for an amazing bite. Would come back here for a larger party to share the plates and order more stuff from here. The lobster bisque is only on the weekends. They have daily menus as well.

Walking in, it was ABSOLUTELY packed and super busy, but luckily with our reservation, we were seated within 10 minutes! I had been CRAVING Chicken and Waffles and BOY it did not disappoint! I was served with the most perfectly made waffle with butter that just fell into the crevices and melted along with the most PERFECTLY CRISPY CHICKEN! I was extremely hungry, so I absolutely devoured it, but it hands down had to have been one of the best Chicken and Waffle plates I've ever had. Although I didn't drink the Espresso Martinins, my friends that did drink it enjoyed it thoroughly. Despite how packed and busy they were, the service was FAST and our waiter was so sweet and attentive and the vibe was just so fun and lively! It was such a wonderful way to start our day in Boston and I 1000% would come back here if I could again!

That was nice. Food 6/10- hash was burnt but eggs and English muffin were good as well as the little mini hashbrowns . French toast was really good though . Now let's talk about the cons : 1- for those that cannot have whole milk in your coffee, prepare to drink hot tea or a cocktail because they only have a whole milk option which was beyond frustrating. 2- service was mehhhhh. More servers than tables yet it seemed as though they were rushing us out as they kept eyeing our table and the other couple behind us yet there were plenty of empty tables. Ambiance is dope , I loved the cool art and set up but I'd never return.
