    Creme brûlée

I've been to Glass House twice now and here are my thoughts: The good - Beautiful space - close to Kendall Square - good sized portions The just ok - food is just ok, I've tried a few things now and it's all ok, nothing I would go out of my way to go get or have a craving for - rigatoni was under seasoned and desperately needed salt - creme brûlée was advertised as "passion fruit" but had 0 passion fruit flavor, it was tasty but just basic flavor wise - service is also just ok, staff is very laid back which can be a good thing, but also means no one was really checking on us, someone in our party was unhappy with their meal but it took so long for the server to come back that they just gave up on saying anything about it, drinks were empty and no one came by to ask about refills despite the place being empty Overall this is a nice place for a "fancier" meal at a price point that will get you bang for your buck.

Came here on a Friday evening for an early dinner and the place was pretty quiet - there is a ton of seating, but not many parties occupied the space. By the time we left, the vibe was similar and it wasn't super lively. The hostess wasn't super friendly upon entering and when I was brought to my table (the other member of my party had gotten here before me), she just walked in a direction, didn't wait for me, and just walked away before I even got to the table. Very strange. Our waiter wasn't particularly helpful either - either he wasn't very experienced or didn't care, but he was a little standoff-ish. The menu was pretty self-explanatory so it wasn't a big deal and we got our orders in quite quickly. The drink was really nice in my opinion - I'm a fan of citrus so the Juniper Goddess was really pleasant. The chowder was great, tons of clam and a large portion size. The octopus was precut which was nice and cooked well, not too chewy and the sauce it came with tasted nice as well. My main entree was nice as well, the salmon being super tender and the sauce it coming with complimenting the fish well. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. The price was a little steep honestly and the service didn't make up for it though. I probably wouldn't come back unless it was someone else's choice, but I will say the food was super delicious at least!

Love the vibe here! Got drinks twice here and loved the rosemary spritz the best. The cauliflower buffalo wings and the Brussel sprouts are great. The fries are a great pairing.

Had a lovely date night @glasshouse450 . Very modern decorations and plenty of event space. The service was phenomenal and the food came out extremely quickly. As part of Dine Out Boston, there was a three-course dinner special for $41 a person which I would say is extremely reasonable. We each ordered different things for each of the courses, but recommend the ahi tuna tostadas as the appetizer, the chicken breast as the main, and the crème brûlée as the dessert. The other options were acceptable but nothing too outstanding. On Fridays, they have beer and seltzer flights. We also ordered two cocktails that were lovely as well. Will definitely return on another occasion to try the regular menu. Drinks: 8/10 Food: 7.2/10 Ambiance: 7.5/10 Overall Experience: 7.7/10

What upsets me more than a restaurant that has an identity and tried to encapsulate that, but fails, is a mediocre restaurant with no identity whatsoever. The menu is all over the place and there's no real 'specialty' to look out for. I chose the fish tacos specifically because of the food-to-price ratio. The flavors were fine, but the fish was a bit dense (as in not flakey). There was enough to bring home. The pretzels were good, but I'm not even sure I can credit this positive to the restaurant because they openly admit that they're not the ones who make them. The cheese sauce, which I presume the restaurant did make, was awful--watery and more beer than cheese. Let's be honest. Places like these stay open because bosses in the areas take their employees and put the bill on the company. For that purpose, it is fine. Everyone can find something they want (if only up to that vague "new American" food standard). But I wouldn't go here for any other purpose.

Very solid choice for group events. Great drinks, good food, and a wonderful outdoor area with games (Jenga and pingpong), a gas fireplace, ample seating and lounge chairs. Drink selections were slightly limited, and we wished there was a larger TV monitor in the dining area.

Glass house is a great place to grab a few drinks and appetizers with your friends after work or during one of their many special events. We've eaten there a few times and attended their Oktoberfest (which was phenomenal btw... put it on your calendar for 2019). They really excel in the beer and tap selection, as I would expect from a tap house. They have a variety of offerings and rotate taps fairly regularly based on the brewery release schedules. If I were rating them on the drinks alone I'd give them 4 stars. The food is where I have mixed emotions. The food itself is not bad or poorly executed, the appetizers are a good value and well executed, but the entrees are overpriced for what you get. The Thai Beef Salad is a great example where the flavors were quite good and fresh, but you got maybe 3 small pieces of meat. I'm not expecting an 8 oz sirloin or anything, but for the price it seemed a bit lean on the meat (pun intended). Their food is well-executed and plated with a lot of thought and skill, but each time when we paid it felt a bit high because of the food costs. That said, we have not had anything bad there but I feel from a value perspective this is one of the lower values we've been to since moving to Boston (at this price point). Please note that while most people would view 3 stars as a bad rating, I actually like the Glass House a lot and have been there multiple times. However, for the price point paid for food, there are other places I think that offer better value for the price point.

Charcuterie and burrata with friend green tomatoes

Cute local spot in Kendall square with lovely outdoor seating, some fun bar games and and a nice interior with a funky central bar. We started off with the charcuterie board and burrata with fried green tomatoes, both were the highlights of the meal. The pasta we shared next was mediocre, but they brought it out already split into two portions which is always a nice touch. Staff was friendly and brought over an adorable rose gold bowl of water for my pup who was sitting on the patio with us. We split a bottle of rosé, but will be going back to try some of the many creative and tasty looking cocktails they have on their menu. Overall this is a nice spot with plenty of options, but nothing phenomenal compared to some of Cambridge's other incredible eats.

Came for Boston restaurant week. Food is good but not stellar, with the exception of the crème brûlée that was amongst the best I've had. Clam chowder is supposedly award-winning, and was quite good. The pita that came with the hummus was delicious. Steak was cooked well but a little cold, and the steak sauce was flavourful. However, the service left much to be desired. The hostess asked us 4 times if we were a party of two, which was written on our reservation and verbally communicated multiple times. We sat for 15-20 minutes without seeing a single server pass by...no water, no drinks, nothing. Turns out they forgot about us but to the credit of our waitress, the service did improve significantly once we were able to flag someone down. Overall a meh from me.

Glass House is an oasis in an otherwise office-heavy part of Cambridge. I've come here on 3 occasions so far. Two Sunday afternoons and one Friday afternoon, all around 4pm. Each time, it's been practically empty upon arrival, but it does start filling up as it starts to get later. It's best to go when the weather is beautiful, as there is a spacious patio with tables & outdoor bar, and even if you're sitting inside, it's nice to feel the sun come through the large windows (it IS a "house" made of glass, after all). Celebrate the nice weather by grabbing a drink! I've had the blackberry basil margarita as well as the cucumber cutter. Both were refreshing although a bit pricey. They also have a surprisingly impressive draft list. On the menu, most just say "rotating draft" of the brewery, so you'll need to ask the bartender what is currently available. I've had the Boulevard Ginger Radler (gotta love those Kansas City brews!). You also might find Maine Beer Co, Fiddlehead, Night Shift, and more faves. During the summer, there is live music on the patio starting at 4pm. The musician played a variety of genres, from country to pop, Jimmy Buffet to Justine Bieber. It's was perfect: not too loud, catchy, and set a laid-back, fun vibe. As for food, I've tried a variety of appetizers: charred octopus, flatbread, house-made chips with onion dip, hummus, burrata, fries. Nothing bad in the bunch! I've had the Mediterranean Bowl for lunch which was fresh and filling. Again, pretty pricey, but good quality food to pair with your drinks. There are also games that you can play out on the patio! Two cornhole sets and a big Connect 4 are over on the far left side. Straight through the patio toward the back, you will find two ping pong tables. For these, you'll need to request the kit with paddles & balls from the bartender, and you can't take your drinks to that part of the space, but it's a fun, different activity to enjoy with your friends! Glass House gives you all you need for a laid-back, sunny afternoon. Live music, games, good food & drinks. You don't need glasses to see that this is the place to be!

The views were nice, but the experience turned sour quickly due to a lack of passenger care and extremely poor customer service. Halfway through the ride, we were filming the scenery at the front of the boat when, without warning, the captain blasted an incredibly loud horn as a "greeting" to another boat far in the distance. It was completely unnecessary, and the sudden, deafening sound startled everyone around us. I almost dropped my phone into the water. We went inside for the rest of the trip because we no longer felt safe or relaxed. Later that day, we emailed the company with our concerns and offered to send them the video showing exactly what happened. They didn't care. Instead, the Director of Operations, Gibson Cushman, dismissed our complaint, quoted Coast Guard rules (irrelevant in this case), and refused a refund. He offered a credit for another cruise, which felt like a cop-out since we're not local. His response made everything worse--tone-deaf, defensive, and full of excuses. He even tried to blame us, saying passengers should expect loud horns at any time. I had ringing in my ear for 48 hours--if we'd known something like this might happen, we could've worn ear protection. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience. Their focus clearly isn't on guest satisfaction or safety--only on covering themselves. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend them to others.

The staff was professional, attentive and all around amazing- I would recommend the MIT Faculty Club to anyone as a wonderful Boston area wedding venue!

Rude staff and SCAM. Read the other reviews BY MUSICIANS. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place…read more Good beer is about all. They did not pay a group who had several out of town members and even one from out of the country and asked them to pay full price entry to the show before as well as for drinks. Also charge a ridiculous price to rent the venue after 10p on a weeknight when nobody is there. Pay to play for touring musicians - don't support this place if you care about honorability in music

The Lilypad in the heart of Inman Square Cambridge is in my opinion without doubt the best…read moreperformance space in the Boston area, with exception of course of the great larger halls like Symphony + Jordan. When it comes to the intimacy of a smaller room, nothing compares to the vibe of this great sounding + visually stunning venue, thanks to Dan Masi for the fantastic wall murals, and to the entire staff for always maintaining a welcoming + energetic atmosphere. The beer + wine selection is superb. Sure the hotel bars bring in some heavy hitters, but the Lilypad consistently features the absolute best of the phenomenal + varied artists we are blessed with in the amazing music scene of greater Boston, as well as talent from NYC + all over the country. The music programming is incredibly varied; some of the best jazz + chamber music performances I have ever enjoyed happened here. The ongoing Sunday-night Jazz Jam session is an awesome scene, always featuring great opening performances by the house-band, followed by convivial jazz jamming, open to players + listeners alike, not to be missed!

Imma keep it all the way 100 and just say that pubs like this one, usually make me uneasy. IYKYK…read more This spot looked exactly like you'd expect an Irish pub to look like: old wooden seats, dim lights, a little worn down, with lights strung up inside. But it was super clean and had a genuine, chill vibe. To my surprise, every single person there -- from the staff to the patrons -- was incredibly friendly and warm. It caught me off guard how kind and attentive everyone was. The service was EXCELLENT , and I'd easily give five stars for both cleanliness and hospitality. As for the food, it was okay. I ordered the calamari, and it was decent. I should have tried the spice bag because the folks seated next to us ordered it and it smelled delicious! The espresso martini was absolutely bomb, and everything coming out of that kitchen looked and smelled great. The service and atmosphere made the experience memorable. I could definitely see myself going back for a couple of drinks or to catch a game -- especially because it felt good to be treated with such genuine warmth in a space where I didn't necessarily expect it. I think our server was Samson, maybe, and someone else served us, I didn't get his name- but thanks for your hospitality.
