I found a spot and made the hike inside. It's laid out similarly to other Costcos I have patronized and so I had no problem shopping the warehouse for the stuff I like. Checkout moved surprisingly quick with a couple of associates out there scanning stuff ahead of the registers to make things go fast. Overall, a positive experience. It's crowded, bring patience. My best friend lives minutes away from this location so it gave my fiancée and I an excuse to visit. I like this location better than the one in Mason. They seem to have more items. The employees are very helpful and friendly. Plus the parking is easier. We decided to eat lunch first before we shopped. 2 slices of pepperoni pizza, hotdog and drink for only $5.84? My gosh, that is dirt cheap and delicious. The aisles are categorized. The shelves are stocked and organized. I love shopping the refrigerated and frozen section. That's where we get in trouble. Also their wine selection is also solid. I love that each section has samples you can try. If I like it, I'll buy the product. We walked around and ended up spending more than we anticipated. I also applied for the Visa Costco credit card which has a lot of perks and cash back. I can now say that I've joined the Costco bandwagon.

And almost always find something new to try, most recently those Unreal coconut bars. The one issue I have with BJ's is those annoying beeping robots. I seriously cut my shopping trip short because as someone who can be sensitive to sounds and constant disruptions, I couldn't take more than a few minutes of it. Maybe next time I'll bring and wear headphones. It's maddening. I give it a 3 because of that beeping robot. Otherwise it would be a 4.

I kinda liked it. First thing I noticed? The brand war: Costco's a Duracell household, BJ's rolls with Energizer. Do I need to know that? Absolutely not. Did I immediately start judging my battery loyalty? 100%. BJ's feels more like a "wholesale meets grocery store" hybrid -- smaller quantities, but still solid deals. I appreciated being able to buy one normal-sized ketchup bottle instead of a gallon drum. Prices were surprisingly competitive, and in a few cases, even beat my local grocery and Amazon. Sure, the selection isn't as massive as Costco, and the store footprint feels tighter, but that's part of the charm. It's like wholesale shopping without needing a forklift or a second mortgage. Verdict: Still a Costco guy at heart, but BJ's earned my respect -- and maybe a spot on my errand rotation.

Too Hot Inside, Smoking Issues Outside This Roses location…read morehas some significant problems. The store is always uncomfortably hot, whether it's winter or summer. They need to adjust the temperature control--turn down the heat or turn up the air conditioning to make shopping more comfortable. The smoking situation outside the store is also concerning. There are consistently employees smoking near the entrance, which means customers have to walk through cigarette smoke to enter. There's a can full of cigarette butts right by the building, and discarded cigarettes litter the ground around the property. It creates an unwelcoming first impression. I've even seen pregnant employees smoking outside in the past, which was particularly disturbing to witness. For a store that promotes Christian values, it would be more consistent to either ban smoking on the property or designate a smoking area away from the entrance where customers don't have to encounter it. The current setup feels unprofessional. I occasionally shop here for cleaning supplies and household items because it's convenient, but the excessive heat inside and the smoking situation outside make it an unpleasant experience. Simple improvements to these issues would make a big difference for customers.

I love the awesome finds I purchase here at Roses. I give them an over all rating of a 4. although I come to Piqua to shop here twice a year it is still one of my favorite stores. I love the Christian shirts, the pictures & wall hangings, the kitchen appliances, lawn & garden decor & tools, etc. i always save $$ when I shop here.
