I have tried many times to make glamsquad work. The stylists are generally good. But without fail the stylist is late every single time. The last time I booked, the stylist did not show up at all. Then someone from customer service called to say I would get a free service, which was set up and then cancelled by Glamsquad. I am sitting here late for work having been stood up again by a stylist. She just texted saying she will be 1 hour late. And there isn't any way to get in touch with a person to let them know that this is not the way to run a business. Do not book an appointment with this business!! They are a scam. read more

I used Glamsquad for my bridal and bridal party hair and makeup. It was PERFECT! All of us felt so stunning and beautiful. It was really easy to book and modify the services we wanted. Glamsquad sent clear information in advance. The day of the wedding was so fun! Katrina did such an amazing job with my hair and all of the bridal party hair. She modified styles with ease and gave me the prettiest bridal updo. Monkia really listened to what bridal makeup I liked and she gave me a stunning bridal look! Jocelyn did a superb job getting all of the bridal party makeup done. Everyone was so professional, kind and relaxed. I had precisely 60 minutes to get ready for an event and was right on the edge of being late - so I was about as unprepared as I could be for my appointment (no photos of what looks I liked, and I was still wiping off the day's makeup as the doorbell rang). Aisha (makeup) and LaShawn (hair) could not have been more reassuring or calming - they were set up in minutes, and somehow, they took my vague adjectives about how I wanted to look and translated them into reality. They both arrived right on time and finished in an hour - and I was able to glide into my event perfectly on time and without having to worry about my hair or makeup all evening. I normally do my own hair/makeup, but can't reliably finish both in an hour - so I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer and already booked my next appointment for a friend's wedding. read more

Booked through the app after an asking experience last year in October with Kimeeko-- if she's still there and can be requested (thought this was in Tysons Corner) then I suggest you request her because she was amazing! So of course this was the kind of experience I expected. I was wrong. There were subtle signs, but my daughter was happy, so in turn so was I. After makeup application for prom, my daughter has folliculitis. I feel like that's enough said. I mean, the MUA arrived on time, washed her hands, and the application was quick. The end look was age appropriate. However, some of the brushes used and the sponge-- I'm not sure they were one-time use items and that they were cleaned appropriately. Dermatologist says: Do you clean you makeup brushes regularly as wash after makeup application? Changed your makeup routine? Welp... My daughter doesn't typically use makeup and washed her face as soon as prom was over so... Don't know how else this could have happened. read more

My stylist was fantastic (Koren, in DC)! However, the billing department was less than fantastic. I booked my reservation through the app, and applied a $25 off code. I received a confirmation stating that the code was applied, and I'd be billed $35 when the service was completed. Great! However, when I moved my appointment back to the next morning, the customer service team said my coupon was negated and that there was nothing they could do ("It's in the fine print."). I received NO notification that the coupon had now been removed, nor did I have any opportunity to see this on the charge portion until after my service was rendered. I have been singing Glamsquad's praises all morning, telling people, sharing the referral code, talking to my Bride-to-be sister about using them for her wedding week, etc. However, at this time, I would rather take my business elsewhere. I don't care to patronize businesses that use, "Gotcha!" tactics to keep as much of my money as possible. No, thanks Glamsquad! Update - after explaining a few times that the code was applied, I have had a refund processed. read more

I used this app last year and got booked with Carmen for hair and she did a great job. However, I requested her again but she was not available so they booked me with Marleny. She arrived 30 minutes late and could not do the style I requested. I ended up rewashing my hair and styling it myself. Wasted time and money for an important event. read more

Don't do it! We tried to schedule the service for 4 of us getting ready for our friend's wedding. It took 20+ emails and 5+ calls to book makeup and hair for 4 people! There were miscommunications at every point - including on the day of when they called 30 minutes out to inform us one of the three stylists wasn't coming and if we could be flexible on time. I couldn't imagine what would happen if that was a bride on her wedding day! The 4 of us are wedding planners trying out a service we'd heard client's use. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. read more

Glamsquad DC is an absolute joke. I've used them in the past for hair and makeup in other cities and generally not had a problem. Unsure if there is no vetting process here or what, but I've had several issues with GS makeup and hair stylists here. I was hosting an event at my home and attempted to book someone a month out to get a preferred time, and apparently that was just too early because there was no option to book. A week and a half out, I was finally able to secure a blowout 2 hours before my event - plenty of time. The stylist, Jasmine, never showed, never called, never cancelled. I tried to reach her by phone and text which were ignored. I called GS customer service who said they would call me back - never did. I contacted them again 20 mins later to see if they had found a solution and no surprise they hadn't and couldn't reach Jasmine. I asked if they could rebook me with someone else in the next hour or two and they said there was no one available. Funny enough, a friend of mine attending the same event had also booked Jasmine right after my appointment (elsewhere in DC) and same thing happened to her - no recourse. I had to call and ask them for a refund and also for a voucher for future use, neither of which had been offered to me by the customer service agent. Save your money and go to a salon where your appointment is at least guaranteed. read more

I absolutely love this service. I don't have to leave my house and fight traffic to get to Tysons and go to a blow dry bar anymore. As someone with an autoimmune disease sometimes the smallest things like doing my hair can tire me out. Since I have a YouTube channel and growing social media presence, it's terrific to have one less thing to worry about. I've had at least 5 different stylists. I love Marie and Carlos! However, they have all been great. Terrific with our dogs. Professional in our home. The gratuity added into the cost on the app makes the transaction seamless. The only thing I don't love are the Dyson hair dryers. I know it's supposed to be a luxury item but I don't think it does as great of job as some of the other professional blow dryers. I applaud the effort though for branding and consistency. read more

Do not use Glam Squad. They are totally unreliable. Hired them to do my daughter's prom hair and make up. The make up person never showed, never let us know she wasn't going to make it. They were willing to send out a replacement, but that person couldn't get here until after my daughter needed to leave. We ended up scrambling to find a friend who could do make up. read more

I have attempted to use them on 3 separate occasions and 2 out of 3 I have had issues. The first time I got an email that morning that there was not stylist available that and a credit, so I gave another try with my credit. I had a wonderful experience that time. The 3rd time my stylist did not show up I called customer service 3 times, they excuses each time. The last time they said he could not find the address, never called to ask directions. I should note building is an entire city block. read more

Horrible service. I scheduled a 7 am blowdry. Received confirmations--two. No one showed up. Impossible to find a contact to talk to. Fortunately YELP had the phone number. I was told that they cancelled at 10pm Sunday night for the Monday morning appointment. No record of contact, no email, no text. When I called a robotic voice kept saying "we apologize." This is a very seat by the pants service. If you are lucky someone shows up and it all works out. But if you are on a schedule, such as work, this is not worth the uncertainty of "will they show or not." read more

I filled out an online interest form for wedding hair and makeup, and it took a while for someone to get back to me. Once I heard back on cost and how wedding coordination works, I wrote back with a few questions -- for example, is there a separate price for a flower girl's hair or is it $100? Six days later (??), my assigned coordinator replied and told me the next step was to sign up online and book appointments, but did not answer any of my questions. I called the number provided and was told my assigned person had left for the day. The person I talked to was able to pull up my email chain and apologized for the delay and for my coordinator not answering my questions, but she encouraged me to set up a phone call with that person to get my questions answered. I expressed skepticism at that approach, since this person had taken six days to respond to the last email I sent, and was told that the company is innundated with wedding requests on a daily basis, so it sometimes takes a while to respond. Not a great customer service experience, and seems like they are in over their head. Does not seem well-oiled or dependable enough to continue following up for wedding services. I am sure that if you book a single service online, it would work just fine. read more
