Moved here 2 years ago and tried plenty of barber shops. The haircuts were OK and were a bit overpriced. One weekend while we were at the Tapioca restaurant in the same shopping center, we asked a fellow there where he got his haircut from. He told us next door. We didn't hesitate to find out ourselves, so we went in for a haircut. Tried it out and now I can stop looking around for another barber. ELY has given me plenty of haircuts and she never disappoints me. I would recommend this place to anybody that wants quality work. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Rude colorist- after she colored my hair she washed my hair and got water all over my face. At first I laughed it off how rough she was with me. I seriously laughing in the chair thinking she would notice and apologize but she never did. I was ok with it because it's just water and it was funny like I was being pranked but when she took me from the shampoo sink to the mirror and I saw my makeup was all smeared and mascara running down my face then I was not happy. I asked her to stop. I paid for the touch up of my root and left. If she didn't know she did something wrong then I was not going to to stay and let her doing anything else to me. This was over a month ago I'm just posting now because ....well I've been busy P.S. the guy at the front desk was very nice and apologized for her actions. read more

Okay so as a client with virgin hair wanting a big change I was nervous of where to go. I found Frida and decided to give it a try because of the reviews and now I cannot picture myself going elsewhere. She was extremely thorough, asked questions to make sure we were on the same page with what I wanted. I was a little intimidated I am neither glamorous nor a Latina, but the pics of color from this place were awesome and it's near my house on Gessner in a strip that I'd not noticed before. I went in with a bad color job that I had done myself and keratin treated hair and a horrible haircut. I was a mess!! I explained what I wanted based off a pic I found and Prince and his lovely wife Frida explained what they could do and couldn't do and were very clear and careful not to over promise. I got a standard dye with a fantasy color red rinse and I asked for some long layers. I was far from disappointed. My hair is soft and silky and red as all get out. I am loving it and I have already gotten so many compliments. Prince is great for conversation and I was able to book an appointment by the link on yelp. They even got me in at 11 when I asked at 9. Can't believe I spent $35 on a Groupon for this place. Not sure where the hair stylists were that all the Yelp reviews for this place were ..but I can tell you they were not there during my visit. While the staff was friendly my stylist seemed as if I was the first haircut he had ever done. My hair was washed with ice cold water, my entire back shirt drenched, it was horrible. While blow drying my scalp was burned multiple times. There was no style whatsoever he basically blow dried it straight. The salon itself was not very clean at all, I definitely won't be going back. Was hoping to find my new neighborhood salon, but I'll have to keep looking! read more

I moved to Houston almost 3 years ago and I been looking for a good place to go for my haircut and even future hair dye. My hair is pretty long and I knew that it would cost and arm and a leg to get it done professionally hence why I put it on hold for a long time. I did go get my hair cut somewhere else and I didn't like how busy it was and how little they gave me attention. I felt like a number and the head stylist was only with me for like 10 minutes. So I didn't want to go back. I was looking thru Yelp for awhile and I kept seeing this salon and I finally made the decision to make an appointment and go. They had a special online for hair dye, haircut and blow dry but I was told that the website wasn't updated and it was their summer special, I was still okay with just going in for a haircut. However when I got there, the owner felt bad that the special was still up and he asked me how long my hair was. I did tell him that it was my birthday too! So even with all that he gave me a special that I could not refuse! I got my hair done by Mary Chuy and she did an amazing job on my hair! The color is beautiful versus the color I had. I visited this salon today, Just on a whim because it was close to my house and I really wanted to get my hair cut. I was a walk in client but they didn't make me feel any less important than the other clients that were there. They welcomed me to the chair and Frida who was very sweet got to cutting my hair.. I have very thick texturized hair which can be troublesome to give a good cut. Frida took her time and gave me one of the best cuts I have ever had. Prince, who runs the salon was very friendly and helpful translating as I don't speak Spanish and Frida speaks mostly Spanish... However this did not change any part of the amazing experience that I had there. This is a wonderful small family owned business to be supported! read more

Incredibly disappointed with my hair. I was recommended by a friend to try this place, all I needed was a trim - 1 inch off. The previous week my friend came in and got 2 inches cut off, wash, dry, and style $30.....I was told my 1 inch off, wash, dry, and style $45. I was already thrown off when I walked in due to the differences in prices for the same services but I figured I would still give the place a try. The lady was extremely rough with my hair and after washing and cutting she told me she was going to style my hair for me. She proceeded to curl it. When I got home I noticed my hair was a bit chunky in places but it was hard to tell because it was curled. The following day I straightened it and to my surprise this is what it looks like. I have never seen anyone mess up a trim like this ever. I'm very disappointed in the lack of care and talent associated with this company. I had a great experience at the latin glamour hair salon yesterday! Maria picked the perfect color, and covered up all my grey hairs. She gave me a trim afterwards and a very nice blow out. Afterwards, she gave me a brow wax and I liked how she made sure I was comfortable with the temperature of the wax. Prince, the salon director, was very accomodating bringing me bottled water and checking on me throughout my service. I will definitely be back for my next color touch up in a few months! read more

The staff are very polite, when I first called to make an appointment Prince was so polite and listened to what I needed. He got me in that same day (Sunday). When I got there the hair stylist took me in within minutes, she was also very polite and did an amazing job on my hair. I happen to come across this salon through google. I have very thick and curly hair and I've had such bad experiences that I don't go to salons anymore. I do my own color and trim it myself! But more importantly they were willing to schedule me at 5pm despite the style taking hours to get done! Who would have thought that I would have been able to find a good barber right around the corner of our neighborhood. Looks like I'll be sending my son and husband here for their hair cuts. My son has fine hair, and I know it's trickier to cut. Yosbel gave him the perfect fade/cut. Everyone in the salon was extremely friendly, nice, and helpful. Brought my daughter in for updo and make up, but I would not recommend it for these services, they might do good hair cuts and hair coloring but they have no business doing hairstyling nor make up! First of all the lady doing the updo un did it a couple of times and kept calling the other lady to ask how she could do it, I got up and told her how to do it (this should have been my walking out point, but I wanted to give her a chance) after she "finished" with a lot of loose hair everywhere... and it was time to start the make up the owner kept telling her what to use and how to use it (primer, foundation etc...) and asking me what I wanted them to use?! at this point I asked them if they had ever done makeup because it didn't seem they had a clue on what to do, they said yes but every salon uses different products/ techniques. FYI every MUA has their products and they've never asked me what product I want them to use, I usually just show them a picture so they get an idea. At this point I decided to cut my losses (1 hour and a half and $85) I live in the neighborhood and wanted to give them a chance but I'd rather drive 45 min to my usual place... honestly I do not recommend them for these two services. read more

I came in for a fade and cut it with the only lady available (there was literally only one lady cutting hair) and the entire time she was cutting my hair she was scratching me with every tool she used to cut my hai. it was awful and hurt. and then she lifted my hair line up when it's not even that high. i've come to this place for a while now but this experience definitely made me not want to come back. read more

This is a jewel of a place! I'm so used to over-priced salons with snobby hair stylists. This place is quite the opposite. I had a fun time throughout this entire experience. (Even when I was booking the appointment) Not only are the nice here, but they're professionals that care about your hair. I came for the $65 cut and single color process deal and it was a great choice. The stylists helped me decide what color to go with, and explained how to do it. (I have two-toned hair so I'm a little complicated) The execution of the dye job was great, I got exactly what I asked for. When it came time for the trim I just asked for half an inch cut off and nothing more. Unlike other salons, Ana did just that. It was a great experience through and through, and you really can't beat the price. (One of the barbers let me have some cheetos, so that was cool too) I also got to brush up on my Spanish, and they didn't make fun of me when I messed up. Overall I give this salon five stars and will be definitely coming back! read more
