had a very disappointing experience with Studio Trends. I went in for a hair strand test and was told they would call me the next day with the results. They never did. After two days, I called them myself, and they said the hairstylist would call me later that day. That call never came. This continued for about two weeks. I kept having to call for updates, and each time I was told someone would get back to me, but no one ever did. The lack of communication and constant rescheduling was extremely frustrating. When I asked for a refund, they initially didn't want to provide one. Only after I continued to press the issue did they say they would speak with the manager about it. Overall, this was a very poor customer service experience. I would not recommend this salon based on the lack of communication, repeated delays, and how my concerns were handled. My fiancée had been here several times. The first time was fine but then requested a different stylist with more experience. Every time he got someone who had not had much experience but didn't mind it, since it was still an ok haircut. Then he scheduled a haircut with someone with more experience again and he got someone fresh out of water and then they charged him more even though her rates were lower. He asked for a refund on the difference and they only gave home a certain amount and not the full refund. Needless to say he won't be going back there anymore. read more

He took me from looking like I stuck my hand into a light socket every day and gave me the best look I have had in years. I gave him free rein over my locks with just a few color suggestions. He created this look from his brain am my hair has so much depth and dimension. This place conducts a "bait and switch " scheme. If you make an appointment with one of their better hairstylists then when you get there for your appointment, that person isn't available and they want you to have a trainee hair stylist instead. This happened to me multiple times over the last 6 months. I do not recommend them. read more

I went in last Saturday for the first time since I was in my teens to get my hair professionally done. I was nervous. Megan made my experience wonderful. She was sweet and lovely to talk to. She made sure I was comfortable with my hair before I left. I was, but a few days later, I wasn't. My color didn't set right, and I voiced my concerns. I have straight-ish long untreated hair and have been looking for a salon & stylist since relocating to Houston 3 years ago...with NO LUCK!! After my last haircut at the expensive pretentious swanky Trademark salon, my family literally called me Joe Dirt bc it was that bad. I asked everyone with a good haircut for a salon recommendation for about 6 months when a coworker suggested KARENI at this little quaint salon in the corner of a strip mall. At midnight last night, I checked out the website and was THRILLED to see they had online booking AND that Kareni had an open slot the next day. So here ya go!....The salon is lovely, tidy, and full of happy, easy-going friendly staff. They genuinely seemed happy to see me and, after a brief check-in, Kareni welcomed me to her chair. She saddled up in a chair next to me with an iPad in hand, ready to listen to what I wanted to do. She had excellent insight for client who didn't really have any hopes, other than just to get a good haircut. After a relaxing comfortable shampoo, she got to work with her magic razor tool! We had easy but personal conversation throughout the whole appointment...Kareni is a natural people person. She took off about 8 inches of length, which was EXACTLY what we agreed upon. She made it seem effortless and uncomplicated, but my cut was flawless and precise. She gently repositioned my shoulders and head while she was cutting when I got too busy talking...which showed me that she could concentrate on doing a fantastic job while chatting with her clients. Product suggestions were non-pushy and the price was right at $65 for cut and style. After leaving the salon, I went to dinner and the gas station and FOUR people asked me where I get my hair cut!!!!!! What more can I say!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON AND KARENI!!!! read more

I'm usually very picky and try to stick to one place but my usual salon closed down so I was very hesitant to go somewhere new but so happy I found a new place. I am always anxious about trying a new salon but after doing a fairly extensive internet search and reading reviews for Studio Trends, I booked an appt with Alexandria on Feb. 10th. I have blonde hair with gray coming in and prefer blending with hi-lights to overall coloring. I'm also fussy about how my thick hair is cut. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome of both my hi-lights and cut. Alexandria did a fabulous job. My hair color looks very natural thanks to the meticulous blending of hi-lights/low lights and added toner. She also thinned out my thick hair with judicious use of a razor, including my bangs, and added in some layers. I can now dry my hair in less than half the time it used to take. I'm ready to go with just blowing it out or I can quickly flat iron it or use my hot rollers. I'm finally out of my everyday ponytail which was getting tiresome. Thank you Alexandria! With the manner in which she handled the color blending, I will easily be able to go 2 1/2 months before needing to go back. That also fits my budget. Everyone at the salon is extremely nice and helpful, not just your individual stylist. This tells me they value every client and appreciate their business. I highly recommend. read more
