Rose at Meraki Salon is awesome. That's just a fact, people. I'm not a woman who knows much about hair and makeup. My mother trimmed my hair when I was a girl and there were only a handful of trips to a Fantastic Sams or other budget-friendly "salons" which always traumatized me with horrible haircuts. I went to Tony & Guy to have my hair done for prom back in the day and was NOT impressed with the work or the attitudes. So since then, I've generally avoided doing anything other than buying a box of color on sale at CVS to spruce up my natural boring mousy brown hair and trimming it every so often myself. I've been getting by with the basics so that I'm at least put together enough to not look like a lagoon creature every day. Definitely time for a life upgrade, amirite?? I searched for salons in my area and came across a few, but Meraki Salon stood out based on their before and after photos. Seeing the amazing work the ladies actually do at Meraki squashed any fears I had about ending up with yet another disaster on my head. And all the positive reviews helped a sista out too. Rose is like my dream hair stylist. She was sweet, funny, professional, and above all else an amazing hair ARTIST. She totally listened to what I wanted and my concerns then gave me excellent advice and incredibly useful tips about doing my hair. I was completely at ease with her and ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NEW HAIR. I had a rather dramatic (for me) color change from my crappy mousy brown to a red/blonde ombre. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I love it and I've gotten compliments from just about everyone who's seen the new 'do. Rose blew me away with her skills and personality. I have been living in Cypress for almost 10 years and have not found a stylist who was worth what they were charging, had a dysfunctional salon, or that was really good that their craft. I finaly got on Yelp, did a search and found Meraki. It had great reviews and I loved the photos on Yelp and their website. I also loved the fact that they have online appointment booking. I nervously went for my first haircut. Rose actually listened to what I wanted, explained the state my hair was in, then explained her plan to get me to where I wanted, as I wanted to grow out my hair. Did a hair stylist just LISTEN to what I wanted??? I couldn't believe it. Next the haircut, I like that she takes her time and explains what she is doing. Rose is so nice and I enjoy talking to her. I can ask her question and she makes recommendations. I have had several haircuts how and also decided to give the keratin express a try. LOVED IT and went back for the regular keratin treatment. I haven't been this happy with my hair in decades. DECADES!. Rose also puts up with my coloring my own hair but I do plan to have her do some color at some point. I am now getting ready to take my teenage daughter in for a haircut with Rose and to get my inbetween haircut bang trim. This lady is a real gem in Cypress and although I want her to get lots of business, I would also love to keep her my little secret. I had my appointment with Rose yesterday, and she is amazing! She took the time to look at pictures of colors I wanted as well as talking me through the colors that would be best for my hair. Also took the time to listen to my concerns with the gray streaks not holding color very well. Every step she let me know what she was doing. My hair was a mess of year old professional coloring and at home coloring more recently. This made it difficult to get the exact look I was going for but I knew it may take a couple times before it would be just right. I must say though the result I did get was a beautiful blonde and copper coloring that was better than expected. Rose also trimmed my daughters hair making sure to listen to her concerns about losing length and being very gentle with her head. Rose made us feel comfortable and welcomed to the salon and I will be definitely going back for cuts and colors on both my daughter and myself! I wish I took a picture as soon as she was done but I failed to do that. read more

Had the best visit today with jasmine. This was my first time at the salon, and she worked me into her day after another stylist canceled on me last minute. My hair was super dark and she lightened me up quite a bit, although I know it will take multiple sessions to get where I want to be. She was soooo sweet and fun. Can't wait to go back. I have religiously seen Helena at Meraki for years. She has NEVER failed to please me and gives me exactly what I ask for or even better. She is an incredible artist who is WORTH the money. The salon is beautiful and clean and staff is incredibly friendly. Cannot recommend enough! read more

Rose did my hair and I love it! The cut and color were both spot on. She asked me questions like what color do you wear most and eye shadows and what not, which I've never been asked but it really shows how much she cares and wants you to look your best. read more

I have been going to Rose to dye my hair for the past few months, and she is amazing! Every time I go she really takes her time, and makes sure I am 100% satisfied with my hair. I lost my hair dresser 3-4 years ago and have tried several salons, only to be horribly disappointed. When asking for gentle layers, invariably I came home with 1.5" lengths on top, which never works for me with a lot of cow licks. So I would grow my hair out and cut it myself. Then try again, only to repeat the experience. After reading review after review (and praying a lot!), I met with Rose this week for a hair cut and style. She was excellent in that she LISTENED to what I said about my hair type (thin and fine) and problems I have with styling my hair. She actually took the time to ask a lot of questions and was very careful not to cut my hair too short, asking for my input every step of the way. When I left the salon, I wasn't really certain about the cut, as I use a lot more product on my hair than she did, but after getting home and styling with more product, I was more than pleased with the cut and style. The next morning when I got up and combed my hair, I was even MORE PLEASED with the cut, as my hair just fell into place naturally and laid perfectly (result of an excellent cut). I highly recommend Rose. I will certainly return and am so grateful that I have FINALLY found an excellent hair dresser. read more
