Bless her heart, she's a great colorist but not the best at cutting hair. She left it with frayed ends, choppy, more damaged looking than it was and still thick and hard to manage. Imagine asian mullet. Yup. Help! So on to get help. In the course of 5 yrs of living in Houston, I would have to say Duc was the best at cutting my hair. I took his first available appointment. He asked, "What are we doing here?" I explained, we need to fix this sad asian mullet. There was just no way I was going to live with this horribly confused haircut. Oh my word did Duc deliver! He blended and lighten the weight of my hair beautifully. The next friend who saw me couldn't believe how my new haircut made me look so differently! I know, sorry i didn't have a before and after pic guys. But hell no, was I going to be documented with that horrible cut! LOL I am deeply grateful to Duc and the wonderful people at Envision Salon. Thank you guys!

Uptown Salon: A Downturn in Service!…read more I am absolutely livid and utterly disappointed with my recent experience at Uptown Salon. I booked an appointment well in advance for my mother to get her hair colored and styled for a special occasion. We were both really looking forward to it, hoping for a bit of pampering and a confidence boost. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that things were not going to go smoothly. The salon was chaotic, with stylists rushing around and clients crammed into every available space. Despite having a scheduled appointment, we were left waiting for an unacceptable amount of time. Then came the real insult. After nearly an hour of waiting, we were informed that, due to some "unforeseen circumstances" (which sounded suspiciously like overbooking), they would not be able to color and style my mother's hair after all. Let me repeat that: they couldn't do the service we had booked and waited for. No apologies, no attempt to reschedule, and certainly no offer of compensation for our wasted time and ruined plans. My mother was incredibly upset, and frankly, so was I. Uptown Salon's complete disregard for their clients' time and appointments is appalling. Their lack of professionalism and basic customer service is beyond belief. If you value your time and want to avoid disappointment, I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere. This salon is quite a scheduling disaster.

***Revised***I originally left a review because I felt this situation was handled poorly. After…read morereading the owner's public response, I feel even more strongly about sharing my experience. The owner focused heavily on whether my appointment was booked the day before or the same day. If my recollection of the exact timeline was off by a day, I acknowledge that. At the time, I was traveling for work and coordinating appointments through my sister, who was calling multiple salons on my behalf while I was in transit. However, that was never the point. My concern was the lack of flexibility and customer care shown throughout the situation. Businesses have every right to enforce their policies. Customers also have every right to decide whether they feel valued when something goes wrong. Frankly, I found the owner's response far more concerning than the original dispute itself. The decision to publicly disclose extensive details about my appointment history, billing dispute, consultation, and private interactions felt unnecessarily personal, deeply unprofessional, and completely inappropriate for a public business review. Readers can draw their own conclusions. Personally, the owner's response spoke far louder than my review ever could, and I will not be returning or recommending this business. Original Review: I understand salons have cancellation and no-show policies, and I accepted responsibility for missing a same-day appointment due to an unexpected work obligation. However, after not visiting the salon for over 52 weeks, I had completely forgotten they still had my card on file. I was surprised to learn I had been charged $117 for a same-day appointment, especially since there was no opportunity to provide 48 hours' notice on a same-day booking. As a returning customer after more than a year, I believe it would have been reasonable for the reservationist to clearly communicate that a same-day no-show would result in an immediate charge of over $100. A simple reminder at the time of booking could have avoided this entire situation. What I find most unacceptable is being told the charge would remain as a credit that could be applied toward future services, only to later be told I could no longer be serviced by the salon. If a business decides it no longer wishes to have someone as a client, that is its right. However, keeping a customer's money as a service credit while simultaneously refusing to provide services raises serious concerns about fairness and communication. Very poor business practice by Tim, the owner. The communication was inconsistent, the handling of this situation was disappointing, and it is not how I would expect a returning customer to be treated.

She has been my go to every time all these years and I don't plan on changing that. I recently have been using the lash services at the salon and just WOW. My lashes have been done for almost 2 years and I notice a HUGE difference between my previous lash studio and now here. My lashes before would look rough 2 weeks in and barely, could I make it at 3 weeks. Life happens so sometimes I'm a week late! I really could have gone another week because they still looked SO nice but I can't trigger my ptsd with my lashes throwing up gang signs again. Best quality lashes and insane how long they last! Another 5 star service at VP Salon and another service I plan to stick with for another 10 years
