Used to love coming here bc of the service. I haven't came back since June because i honestly felt betrayed for what I paid for. I had a consultation prior to dying my hair. I asked for a balayage but looking back - I meant highlights. Regardless I shown many pictures of what I wanted which was the honey blonde Jessica alba hair. I left the salon with my dark hair and streaks of dirty blonde pieces. I spent 400 almost 500 on it because of my hair length and the processing of my hair. Honestly, I was okay paying that at first because I've had such amazing experiences with my hairstylist who normally cuts my hair but after this, I never want to come here again. I ended up dying my hair at home to somewhat resemble what I wanted but it wasn't as beautiful and it surely came with a cost of damage. This was first time in and let me tell you the experience was amazing. First off I always struggle to find time to get my hair done so I was so grateful that the salon offered late appointments. When I got there they were pretty much done for the day and I was the last client, however their customer service was amazing. A drink when I first came in and everyone was extremely friendly. Personally for booking the appointment for 7pm and being the only one in the salon I expected my appointment to be a little rushed, but my stylist Claudia did an amazing job. She took her time and really took an attention to detail to ensure I got the full salon experience. Claudia is probably the only stylist I've ever gone to who was honest about what my hair was able to achieve with how thin it is, and how I manage my hair in real life, and what would be the most suitable for me. If you come here you must ask for her she was great and I love my new hair. Overall the salon was a 10/10 and I will definitely be coming again. read more

I'm a picky guy when it comes to haircut. Been burned way too many times to just let anyone cut my hair. I've seen 4 stylists there and ended up on Alex. She's legit. Super personable. Listens to you. Cuts my hair in a way when I'm don't I don't second guess my life choices. It's a great experience. Now for the salon; it's super clean. Always smells good. They always offer my water, coffee, beer, wine, etc. they have amazing customer service and everyone is personable and welcoming. I've been going here for...Geeze almost a year. Extreemly dissatisfied with Jamilex. I have been to this salon before and their service and work was exceptional. However, I recently went again for prom and asked for short layers and curtain bangs, with little length cut off since I loved my long hair. Jamilex didnt talk to me til the very end of my haircut and was completely disinterested. She didn't listen to my one request of keeping the length and volume and made the layers very choppy, thin, and short. It didn't turn look like the picture I showed her and when I requested to add some curl to make it better she said she didn't have time. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone and I don't think that she should be cutting hair with her attitude and lack of skills. Completely unprofessional. read more

I booked my mom for a hair color appoinment and speaking to them on the phone was already a delightful experience. Upon arriving at the salon, you could tell that they were pretty busy but we were assisted promptly and immediately made us feel welcome. They offered us drinks and snacks and my mom overall had a pleasant experience for her spa day! She was also very pleased with how her hair color turned out. They even have a self-service blow dry area where you can style your own hair and use their Aveda products. Saves us $30 for a blow dry. Please do not go here. The service is aweful and the manager does not care. I had my hair cut and colored by Andi 2 weeks before my wedding. This was not the first time she colored my hair. I have gotten my hair colored there before several times. I have color my hair there the same color my friend does and who knows Andi for many years. This day my hair color came out a lighter from the bottom than normal. Andi said she could fix it the next day. The next day I show up and she is not there. I told the manager to look in the notes to see what glazed she used. The manager said she had it under control. When they finished my hair was grey and dull (see picture). The manager said to come back the next day to fix it. Reminder I live far in downtown Houston. The next day I drive back there and Andi is there. She pretends she does not know me or what it is that i want. I pull out pictures of what my hair normally looks like and what she normally does. I even oull out pictures of my friend. She brushed me off, she tells the lady doing my hair that she doesn't know what i want. This is my hair that I had to wear for my wedding. I was so upset when i left there that I was crying in the parking lot. Mind you I had already cried in the parking lot the day before. It is sad that people leave there with ugly hair specially on their wedding week. My hair is so hard and damaged from all the work done. They didn't even bother to put a hair treatment in. I had to pay for this awful service. Please don't waste your time and get your hair ruined there. Those people do not care and it's sad because you pay an arm and a leg for the service. read more

So charging afterwards if I miss appointment is not enough for you guys??? You now want to charge upfront?? The manager wanted to count how many appointments I missed for the LAST 10 PLUS YEARS! She counted I missed TOTAL 7 for THE LAST 10 PLUS YEARS! And she goes you missed one in year 2018! Okay buddy, we are in 2023!!! That's five years ago!!!! I told her if I missed total 7 appointments in 12 years that's like missing 1 every 2 years?!? I'm fine with them charging me $50 afterwards if I miss my appointment. But they now want to charge me upfront because I missed total 7 appointments in 12 years???? I'm sorry, what? This place treats customers like criminals. They could care less about their customers! This says about their business ethics a lot! They could care less about keeping their customers! I'm sure I would miss another appointment in the next 10 years! So what's next? So my hair was really needing change in cut and color since I didn't like the color or the cut. I came to the write place, I chose them from reviews here on Yelp. I had my haircut with Beverly, even though she's young she's very professional and focused. I told her what I wanted what I didn't want and she totally blew me away with an awesome haircut and style, super happy I found her. I did a color consultation with Kelsey because like I said I didn't like my current color, too much maintenance and fading. Anyways I came back two days later and Kelsey and I talked some more and she presented what her thoughts were and we agreed and she made it happen.
