1 Star - Nightmare Experience: Poor Workmanship, Repossessed Our Car…read moreI wish I could give zero stars. This has been the worst automotive repair experience of my life. The Original Problem: Our car spent months at the shop waiting for a used transmission replacement. Communication was poor throughout - we were told the car was ready for pickup, only to arrive and find the shop unexpectedly closed with no advance notice. Quality of Work - or Lack Thereof: When we finally got the car back, it had: Multiple NEW warning lights (brakes, traction control, stability control) Broken sunroof that won't close completely Missing underbody panels covering the fuel filter and brake lines Fresh scratches on front and rear bumpers Poor transmission performance, it took a lot of gas to move at all and made noises by the bell housing that were not present before botched repair oil leak was not fixed either The Real Problem - Transmission Failed After 2 Weeks: The "repaired" transmission only lasted 14 days before failing again. Then It Got Worse: When we disputed the charge with our credit card company due to the poor quality and additional damage, the shop REPOSSESSED our vehicle and demanded $980 cash to return it, while charging daily storage fees and threatening to impound the car. We paid and got the car towed back to our home, still broken Bottom Line: Poor workmanship, bait and switch free inspections followed by a large bill if repair is denied, defensive when questioned, and aggressive collection tactics. There are many reputable mechanics in the area - please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

I can't fit the entire situation I experienced but just know it cost me 14K somewhere else to fix what this business did to my vehicle. Expect to pay 90% up front and depending on how he is feeling the day you have to pay the last portion, he will require you pay cash. Because according to him and I quote, "I am the owner and I can do that." Also be aware that he claims to own a title company. This business has been reported to BBB, Department of Labor, and police reports have been filed.

Before coming to Foster's, I got an estimate on repairs for many parts of my car at multiple shops…read more Everywhere was around $1900-2100. Foster's charged only $1250 and has been the best service with the most hospitable owners I have ever met within this industry! Mike and Alan will tell you exactly what problems your cars are having and offer you options for your vehicle. I let them know I only plan to use my car for a couple more years as it's getting old and worn. Unlike other places that are sketchy and corporate owned, they offered me the best parts but even offered me cheaper options knowing my car's situation. They don't make as much profit off it but Alan and Mike aren't in the business to cheat you out of your money; they're in the business for their love of cars and to carry on the family business. They even gave me a ride back to my place and picked me up once my car was done. These guys can get your car in and out of the shop within a day, whatever the task may be. Don't get cheated out of your money by going to a corporate owned shop. Not that I'm against corporations, but it's undeniable that a corporation's goal is to make as much profit as possible. I have called and visited around Houston and Foster's has by far the lowest labor rate, which is why they're such a great deal. They give you an even lower labor rate when it's your first visit. Mike and Alan want the best for you and will only recommend things for your car if you actually need it, not to try to yank an extra dollar off you. If you're looking for the best service, the best prices, and the most knowledgeable and honest mechanics, Foster's is your go-to shop!

I took my car to Foster's to be diagnosed. They claim it needed an engine replacement. My…read moreextended warranty company denied the claim. Foster charged me $138.00 for the diagnostic. I asked service advisor Cameron to give me a estimate on an engine replacement. Cameron quoted nearly $5000 for an engine with 84,000 miles on it. He said the warranty would be only six months. I said no, I can't accept the estimate and asked for my car on Friday (June 19, 2026). Cameron stated that he could not get my car out because there was 20 cars in the way and that he did not have the man power to move all those cars and that I would need to come back on Monday (June 22, 2026). When I received my car, I could not drive it because the steering was malfunctioned. Cameron looked at my car and stated that the power steering fluid was leaking out. I explained to Cameron that my car was not leaking power steering fluid when I brought the car to Foster's. I am convinced that Cameron INTENTIONALLY damaged my power steering. I have had my car since 2014 and have NEVER had a power steering leak until I picked my car up from Foster's. Cameron is neither an honest nor an honorable man. I will NEVER take my car to Foster's again.
