I don't have dental insurance, so after calling around town for prices (ranging from kinda high to just plain nuts), I ended up taking Glacier's $75 new patient special, which covers a cleaning, x-rays, exam -- the works. So here's the deal. They are super friendly here. Almost over the top friendly. When I arrived, they offered me something to drink, gave me a tour (I was a little confused about that part, let me tell you!), and, when I was taken to an exam room, they handed me a little gift bag with a Glacier Dental-branded insulated cup (which I've totally been using...), at which point I started looking around for the "Punk'd" cameras. But I think it's actually genuine! They were happy to discuss my concerns about x-rays (too much orthodontia as a teenager), assured me that my teeth looked great, and explained everything they were doing. The front desk wanted to take my picture for my file (wait, is this a plastic surgery clinic?), but accepted my "No" the first time without any drama. I only have two quibbles: First, the appointment took something like an hour and a half, which seems kind of long -- between the x-rays, exam, and cleaning, I did get a little antsy. However, I'm assuming that it was because it was a first appointment, so hopefully subsequent cleanings will be shorter. Second, when the hygienist recommended a fluoride treatment, it was a little like fending off offers of product from a hairdresser. I'm self-pay (not that fluoride would be covered under insurance anyway), so I wasn't really interested in spending any extra money regardless of how beneficial it might be. Overall, it was a good "new dentist" visit (and believe me, I've had about 6 of those in the last decade...). They have a nice referral program, so I'll definitely be recommending them to others, and I'm happy to go back for my next cleaning. read more

Since my first experience at Glacier Dental a bit has changed. It seems that they are very shady with how they are open with you on pricing. They will send a 1 time only link for bills or for info on your next appointment for security which I understand and appreciate, but it seemed more times than none that I would get the wrong pricings. It seems they care more about getting extensive procedures done than preventative care. I chose to get an extraction which went phenomenal in my opinion, which made me excited for Glacier, but scheduling normal cleaning appointments it seemed like it gradually got lower quality in service. My teeth felt each time overlooked of issues the more cleanings I had. I recommend choosing other than Glacier Dental. read more

glacier routinely recommends costly and expensive unnecessary dental work. They coerced my young adult young son into getting fluoride treatments which he paid for out of pocket because he didn't know better. when I found out I called. the receptionist would not let me talk to anyone with a degree. I heard her pull out the form letter that she was trained to use when patients have questions. She could not answer my questions but would not let me speak to anyone with more knowledge. Shr ended up hanging up on me. This is how they pay for the taj mahal. Fluoride treatments for adults are NOT covered by insurance! Make sure everyone in your family knows this. read more

Ive left a google review after my forst appointment but i need to put out another. I had a root canal done which went very well... up until i had the temparary crown put on. The guy putting it on did not seem to know what he was doing. After everything was done, i had a bunch of plastic stuff scattered all over my mouth and mostly stuck on the roof. Fast foward 2 weeks, the whole back of the temp has fallen of and the crown itself is barely hanging on. Ended up falling off while i ate. It will sit on my tooth as long as there is no pressure what so ever. My permanant crown is in a little over a week away. Hopefully put in better then the temp. read more

Glacier Dental is the best dental practice that I have been treated by in 70+ years that I have been seeing dentists.. I first saw them when I had an abcessed tooth, and I was unable to get an appointment with my regular dentist. I had an appointment with my dentist, that was canceled by his office because of a computer problem. His office informed me that I could not get another appointment for at least 6 weeks. I started calling other dentists, and Glacier fit me in. I soon discovered that the quality of their care was outstanding and decided to switch dentists. They were able to save a tooth that the other dentist said needed to be pulled. Dentists at Glacier practice preventative dentistry. I have had 4 bad experiences in the past with dentists. That's why it's been over 15 years since I've been to one. Saying I am terrified of going to the dentist is an understatement. I ONLY made the appointment because i was having tooth pain and they have sedation dentistry. Everyone at Glacier Dental was wonderful. They were all so friendly and reassuring about my fears. This place hardly warrants a review worth anything. They've got all the business things down pat they've got the fancy little office they give you lots of nice little perks like I'll have a cuppa coffee have a cookie do you want a bottle of water. They have the cute office girls being real nice asking if there's anything they can do for you. They get you back in and then they go to work on you and then you find out what's really going on. In this case they had my 89-year-old mother in for treatment I could tell she possibly had a cavity however, They immediately went into oh it might need to have a root canal and a crown. I said you don't typically do that kind of work on someone this old I'd be more inclined to want to see how bad cavity is and we can do about it. They tell me after the x-rays that they're not sure yet but that I guess they'll try and do the filling but if necessary they may still have to do the root canal. They give me an initial estimate of $400 and saying it might be as low as $305. I go out and wait in the lobby in approximately an hour and 15 minutes later my mom comes out. They did the filling. Then they hand me the bill for almost $600. I was stunned. Then I said I thought it was three to $400 they replied oh well she also had to have x-rays and treatment. What is treatment I asked was just generally taking care of the area. My suggestion is these guys are only interested in making money the gussied up the office and they do all the customer service things to make you feel really relaxed then they pinch your pocketbook. I would strongly suggest you shop around. As a side, my first clue should've been the rust on the dental chair. read more

Very disappointed in the misleading "diagnosis" I received. I was told I had 8+ teeth with cavaties, and another 4 teeth that needed sealant. I was also told I had significant gum disease. At 27 years, with no cavaties yet, I was very shocked by all of this information and the amount of money they were asking me to spend asap to repair these issues. I searched a second opinion, found I had 3 cavaties and no need for sealant. This company is out for money by way of making you feel like your mouth is going to fall apart. I was devastated with the information given; even more so when I heard they treated my grandmother the same way. Staff were very friendly and the building seemed very clean. However, the focus seemed to be from a marketing standpoint of how yo get more money, not the well being of patients. read more

Glacier Dental charges twice as much for routine procedures like root canals (4000). Depending on the Dentist they are very sloppy with procedures that involve experience. The Fox Valley has very good dental services and Glacier doesn't match up to the standards that should be expected. Do not trust them, awful customer service. After specifically saying I would only want services that I had coverage for I ended up leaving paying over $300 for what was supposed to be a free $75 cleaning. They will not look out for you financially and recommend lazer surgery at a cost of $2200 because of over exaggerated gum disease diagnosis. After 3 weeks of not being followed up with regarding the expense surgery they recommended, I got a second opinion and was told it would be completely unnecessary an that I only needed to pay more attention to flossing. After following up with the second opinion hygienist for a second time 3 weeks later I have no signs of gum disease. This hygenist also said I really only needed 1 of the 4 sealants they recommended, which they failed to inform me I wasn't covered for in the first place. Don't let them empty your wallet and over sell you services you don't need. I also was was told by a coworker that their laser surgery burned their tongue. If I could 0 out of 5*. read more

We used to really like this dental practice. However, I had to make an emergency appointment due to a filling that fell out. I was talked into a very expensive overlay, rather than replacing the filling. What I got was worse than if I would have just replaced the filling. I spent 3 hours with my mouth open yesterday, only to be told that the "machine wasn't working." I had to return today for another appointment to have the overlay placed, and it is nothing like my original tooth as I was promised. I went in for a consultation and the dentist I saw seemed great - the problem was with the office people - they kept "forgetting" to do the things they said they would, from records to insurance. Finally I had to say that I just couldn't trust the office so I went elsewhere. Nice people but at best they are disorganized and at worst they are incompetent. read more

I have used this Dentist for myself and a family member (80) they are extremely friendly and helpful but after a great initial cleaning and check-up for my family member things changed at the next appointment to the tune of 3,000 dollars for needed dental work. They spend a great deal of time going over every single tooth poking and checking after 2 sets of x-rays and then come up with your personal care plan( expensive) I am not convinced they are honest and I believe are just looking at ways to make a fortune off of you that's why they offer the cheap new patient specials because they recoup most of the cost thru your personal care plan .I had a cleaning with x-rays and exam that's all I wanted because I have no dental insurance and after the cleaning they wanted me to pay several hundred dollars more to treat gum disease and get a implant for a tooth I lost. I would avoid this place like the plague if you can and check around for other dentists . Ask a lot of questions and get everything in writing. read more
