What a stand up operation, which seems to be a rarity in this day & age…read more Our washer broke the night we came back from vacation. As a family of 5, that was a big deal! We called a few places & they were all scheduling days out. But not these guys! They came the SAME day! They quickly diagnosed the problem; a fried board. Got a price right away for the replacement part & labor & told us how long it would take for it to arrive. They called as soon as it came in & came back that day to install. When he put in the new part, it burned out right away. He found that there was a short that originated further down & that there was an additional board that was fried, making 2 in total. He advised that between the 2 boards & labor, it would cost more to fix it than to get a new washer & recommended we not fix it. He then said he wasn't charging me for the first board since it shorted right away & all I ended up paying for was the initial visit/diagnostic fee...that's it! I can't say enough how much I appreciated his honestly & the fact that he genuinely didn't want to see us blow money unnecessarily. He was friendly & genuine, & I will use them for everything going forward.

I researched some companies, but after seeing all of the positive reviews for On-Temp and seeing that they were from right here in Taunton, I sent a message this morning. Joe answered right back and by 12:30pm he was on-site and ready to go. Joe quickly diagnosed my furnace issue as a bad gas valve and gave me some great options to get the job done. He sourced the part, picked it up, came back, and completed the job with extreme precision and professionalism. He even went above and beyond to answer my miscellaneous questions on upkeep and things to look out for. The price was extremely fair for the job and they even have a discount for those living in Taunton. In a time where the pandemic has rocked small to medium businesses, it felt even better to stick with the local guys! If you are in need of any heating/cooling service or support, look no further than Joe and On-Temp. Send them a call or send them a message and know you'll be in the best of hands. He never bad mouthed the other company either. He even wound up saving us time and money by being able to use the parts that were installed incorrectly the first time. The previous company told us they ordered the wrong parts and we'd have to wait for the new ones to come in. Overall, very happy with KBS. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Nearly $15,000 Spent and Still No Resolution…read more We purchased a Carrier heat pump system from Kermit B. Schulz & Sons for approximately $14,600, expecting a reliable heating and cooling system backed by a reputable installer. Unfortunately, this has turned into one of the most frustrating purchases we've ever made. Since installation, the outdoor unit has made an extremely loud gasping or honking noise during its defrost cycle. The sound is disruptive and completely unacceptable for a relatively new, expensive heating system. After numerous follow-ups and months of frustration, Carrier's distributor conducted an onsite evaluation, and Carrier eventually authorized a replacement outdoor unit. We hoped this would finally resolve the problem. Unfortunately, Kermit B. Schulz & Sons has proposed charging us an additional $5,326 for us to upgrade to a Carrier Performance model, bringing our total investment to nearly $20,000. Even more concerning, we've been told there is no guarantee the replacement will eliminate the original noise. During a conversation about the proposal, we were told the equipment cost difference was approximately $2,400, with the remaining amount attributed to markup. We understand businesses need to make a profit, but given the circumstances, we hoped the company would consider some flexibility. We've proposed what we believe is a reasonable compromise and followed up, but have yet to receive a response. To make matters worse, the system has now developed another problem. Since yesterday, it has started making a loud gurgling sound whenever the heat is running, in addition to the original honking noise. What has been particularly disappointing is the amount of time and effort we've had to invest just to get these issues addressed. We've repeatedly had to follow up, escalate concerns, and push for answers. It shouldn't be this difficult to resolve problems with a relatively new system. With winter approaching and major construction about to be underway at our condominium complex, we're increasingly concerned about getting this resolved in a timely manner. We genuinely regret purchasing this Carrier system and wish we had kept our previous Trane unit instead. We expected much better given the significant investment we made. We aren't asking for anything unreasonable. We simply want a properly functioning, reasonably quiet heating system and a company willing to work with us toward a fair resolution. Unfortunately, based on our experience to date, I cannot recommend Kermit B. Schulz & Sons. I sincerely hope they will take the opportunity to make this right, and I would gladly update this review if they do.

So happy to be kicking off the holiday week with our working dishwasher. A wonderfully professional experience from booking to consult to scheduling the repair. They were the most responsive place we called and got us in the fastest. From there, everything went according to plan: the diagnosis, we discussed the price fairly vs. replacement, the part came in, they fixed it on a Friday night!!, and I am now delighted to have my beloved dishwasher back (we drove to Queens specifically for this model so I devastated that we may not be able to repair it). It's rare to find technicians of this caliber-- so if you are looking for an appliance repair, I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys! One side note: our son has a developmental disability, and the technician we had was absolutely kind and understanding and at ease -- and we just really appreciated it. Will call again when our next appliance goes on the fritz. Update: the igniter on our gas stove went out and we called them again. Another five-star experience with same day service at an affordable rate!

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!…read more Oct 2nd I called Neighborhood Appliance Repair about a refrigerator that was not cooling. Neighborhood promptly sent over a repair guy who didn't know what he was doing. After about 1.5 hours of being behind the frig, testing this and testing that...he walked to his vehicle and came back inside. He tested a few more things. Then a second trip back to his vehicle!! Finally, I asked, so what is the issue? He told me it was my wiring. I told him I didn't have an wiring done in my house. He clearly could not pinpoint the problem and blamed my wiring. My frig and all my appliances have run fine for the last 14 years so it was not my wiring. He went back to do a few more things and then said it was my relay. I said are you sure and he said no. He said everything else looked ok but he could not test the condenser. Honestly, I know he was guessing at this point. I paid the bill of $129 and he left. I declined getting it 'fixed' because the guy was going charge over $300 for the part and an ADDITIONAL $169 TO COME BACK AND INSTALL IT!! So, I ordered the EXACT part (the relay) he said was broken, replaced it myself and the frig still does not work!!! You CAN test the relay with a multimeter which he said was originally working....then all of a sudden that was the issue? Spending $129 for essentially nothing is a lot to swallow. He didn't see anything wrong with the frig, then said it was my wiring, then the relay was probably bad. How can it probably be bad? Either it is or it isn't! So, long story short, I'm out $129 for essentially nothing!! I did reach out to the company to talk about what happened and hopefully get a refund for the misdiagnosis of the frig but I did not hear back from anyone. Where is the customer service?? Where is the trained technician who can definitively say..."Yup, it's broken don't waste time' or "here is the issue!!" Never again.....if any company can send a technician out to you on a moments notice.....they are desperate for business and you will get an amateur!! Never again!!
