Brand new boiler for my house with a all new pipes. Great job.
Edward S.

Martel Plumbing did an awesome job installing a new boiler and they were very neat and polite. That is the second time we had them.

Washing Machine now directly drains into the house's main line. No more unsightly water dumping into the sink.
Derek W.

Martel Plumbing is THE BEST and only plumbing company you need. I bought my house running heat with oil. The oil ran out just a few weeks later during the cold winter. They showed up THE NEXT DAY, converted the heat to gas, installed a new High-Efficiency boiler, walked me through the rebate ($1200) process and scheduled a company to haul away the old boiler and oil tanker. They've been doing various projects for me over the last six months - old pipe replacements, ice maker waterline install and a washing machine direct drain install. Their team has also been kind enough to point out small projects I can easily do myself to ensure everything is running smoothly. all the employees are professional, timely and have even done work at the house when I've been away at work with no issues. Their prices are fair and every invoice has been right in line with their quote. I will only hire Martel Plumbing to do work on my house and recommend you give them a call for your needs as well.

I'll start with the good:…read more 1. Techs are always friendly and courteous 2. Customer service phone service is always great 3. They generally do an okay job with the maintenance Now for the not-so-great... 1. They will absolutely fleece you on anything your purchase. Their flat rates are roughly 1.5-2.5x higher than most other competitors, and if you compare quotes with smaller, local companies, it can be on the higher end of 2.5x or more expensive. For example, I received a quote for a tanked water heater for $5900 and $8900 for a tankless. I shopped quotes and found the average for tankless was ~$3000 and tankless was ~$4500. I confronted them on the asinine price, and they bumped it down to $4500 and $8300, respectively. The same goes for a fix for the furnace. I was quoted ~$1000 for a part that was under warranty (and not the actual fix). I shopped around and found that the proposed fix averaged $300-750, but the actual fix was ~$100. 2. There are no itemized breakdowns of parts, labor, or items that you are quoted for or purchasing. 3. They are sales-first. They'll get you and you'll think you won't have another option. Their techs or service managers will attempt to upsell you on repairs you may or may not need 4. I'd say there's about a 50% chance that they'll cancel or reschedule your maintenance visit that you scheduled, and you won't find out until you hit your scheduled maintenance window for service 5. I found that they didn't perform combustion tests on my furnace or vacuum out any of the hoses/condenser ports. I only knew after I had someone come compare quotes on the suggested repair 6. I found that their suggested repair wasn't actually what the issue was, and that the actual fix was much cheaper than what they wanted to do I wouldn't recommend their actual job services and would highly recommend shopping around. Their prices are far from transparent and they have no qualms about fleecing their customers. Their maintenance package ($50/month) is okay, but I found other maintenance packages for $20-$30/month. You can search reddit or other forums for what people have to say, but my experience seems to harmonize with what others have said. Other companies and contractors also seem to cringe when you mention their name, which is generally not a great feeling.

Harrison came out expecting to be working on a gas system despite us telling the dispatcher we have an oil system. He and made a real effort to help us. But we were expecting him to give a quote and instead handled most of the major issues the same day. Or so we thought... His initial repair ultimately took three more separate visits to get right. The issues we ran into after the first visit could have been avoided if the initial work had been completed correctly, but I appreciate that GEM honored their warranty and kept coming back without charging us extra. The final technician, Steven, was the one who fully resolved everything. He corrected the earlier mistakes, updated the piping, bled the system properly, and fixed problems that had been building for years, even parts that weren't effected by the initial repair were replaced to ensure efficiency and to avoid further damage to the system. Our heat now works better than it ever has, and Steven genuinely deserves five stars. Because of the multiple visits and avoidable setbacks, I can't give the company a full five stars, but I'm grateful for the Steven seeing it through!

They are local BVT grads, then went to Mass Maritime before starting their business. I called and someone picked up immediately. I had a very pleasant conversation with the person on the phone. I thought I was going to have to wait a long time for an appointment as it is summer, but he had a gentleman, Adam, out to us the next morning. Adam arrived at 8, on time, professional, called before he arrived. We had asked because we needed to lock up the dogs. Adam looked at our air conditioner and immediately identified the problem, explained it and took care of everything. He wore foot protection and cleaned up everything. The price was very reasonable and Adam recommended cleaning once a year and changing the filters twice a year. I highly recommend this company.

Most people wait to call a plumber until it's unavoidable, and then can't wait for the plumber to…read moreleave. By the time Wingman Plumbing & Mechanical finished their work, I was sad to see them go. If your goal is to pay for all the plumbing work you need and none of the work you don't, stop playing footsie with the cheapo company with free estimates and no reviews and just call Wingman already. Al and Chad did a big-boned project that spanned about 6 weeks. Our house is 100 years old, and was renovated about 4 years ago, so of course there was a little baggage. We've never had a plumbing emergency here, but we like to prevent FUBAR situations when we can. Also, enough performance issues bugged us for long enough that we wanted to blast through the whole list. Wingman's work consisted of 3 rounds of work, on 3 different days: Round 1: The guys replaced our Mesozoic Era outdoor spigot with a frost-free spigot I'd bought (a Prier, which turned out to be Wingman's recommended brand). That mini-project included replacing the leaky indoor gate valve with a nice ball valve. That had been a burr in my saddle. The other thing they did in Round 1 was replace the shutoff valve on our downstairs toilet. Hadn't been an issue, but in his initial walk-through / estimate Chad noticed some corrosion that I hadn't. Round 2: We expected the showdown at the O.K. Corral, because it was the day Wingman had to work on the supply line entering the basement, AND replace the water heater. Our pressure had been low, and the supply line stuck out a foot farther into our basement than it needed to, so initially I wanted them only to increase the size of the pipe and reroute it closer to the foundation. In the walkthrough Chad said I'd probably also need the supply-line nipple replaced (it was corroded), and during Round 1 Al confirmed that. So we added that to the list. Al had the North Attleborough Water Department on-site at the beginning of Round 2, in case the supply-line nipple replacement got hairy and required a shutoff at the street. Turned out we didn't need one, which was good. The boys replaced and rerouted the supply line as planned, which solved the low pressure. But our water volume was still low. Al narrowed the problem down to the gate valve at the street, which was the Town's responsibility to replace. (Between Round 2 and Round 3 the Town replaced the gate valve, which solved the volume issue. It's worth noting that Al coordinated that with the Town, which he didn't necessarily need to do. That was probably a PITA for him, but he didn't let on. He's that kind of guy.) The water heater replacement was straightforward. Our old Whirlpool was corroding and had a pipe leak that I'd bodged shut 18 months before. They drained the sludge out of it and hauled it off. We ended up getting the 50-gallon HTP electric water heater (stainless steel) with the maximum warranty. I had considered getting a hybrid or an 80-gallon, but Al said he didn't think we needed either. I'm glad I listened to him, because the new water heater is a beast. I had a forehead-slapper moment when Al and Chad recommended moving the new unit about 15 feet from its original spot. The new location is better. Round 3: Major drainage surgery. What prompted Round 3 was a downstairs shower leak I hadn't been able to figure out. Turned out the cause was a loose strainer basket. In troubleshooting that, the guys also noticed that our laundry and kitchen drainpipes were pitched too steeply, and that the kitchen drainpipe wasn't vented correctly (which I'd suspected once we caught some bad whiffs in the downstairs bathroom every time we'd run the dishwasher). The kitchen drainpipe also wasn't wide enough. This final shootout wasn't as exciting as Round 2 was, but it was probably the most work. Al and Chad replaced and re-pitched several drainpipes, added cleanouts, replaced a trap, replaced the strainer basket under the shower, and re-puttied the strainer. The end result of Round 3 was we could use the downstairs shower again without leaks (which then allowed me to make some changes to the whole shower area), the pipes were vented properly, and the drainage was faster, didn't cause smells, and less likely to develop a clog. Al and Chad do rock-solid work, are honest and reliable, and are fun and easygoing guys who clearly enjoy their trade. Every time they were over they didn't displace my wife, our baby, or our 3 cats. I say pay to get it done once and get it done right. Our 3-part project cost a good chunk, but it was a ton of work, and included the new water heater (with the max warranty). Every line item was fair and reasonable. If anything, the whole burrito cost a little less than I expected. They may be busy or hard-to-reach when you call or email, but they're worth any back-and-forth and a wait. I doubt we'll need more plumbing work for a while, but if and when we do I'll definitely call Wingman Plumbing.

Strongly recommend! Al and his team were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Scheduling…read morewas easy because they were very responsive.
