My husband and I moved directly one floor below our old apartment but it didn't have mirrors in the living room so that had to be corrected. What do I know about having mirrors installed? Nothing! I just know I like watching the sunset and the increase in positive energy I get from having them. I started my very short journey into my search and found King David Gallery. I liked what I saw. I wondered if they would take on a project like mine so I contacted them. I gave Sara what I thought were the dimensions and she gave me an estimate. David came over to do the measurements and boy am I glad he did because I was way off! Sara let me know that the price would be different and that makes sense. The price was still much less than I was expecting. Again, what do I know about mirror installation? The day of installation came and I was something. I was anxious and excited and nervous. What if my husband didn't give David the right instructions of what I wanted at the consultation? David and another gentleman arrived on time and were wonderful! I'm immunocompromised and my husband underwent radiation in December so I am very grateful they were masked. I think I just digressed. Sorry. Back to the mirrors! The mirrors are beyond, beyond, beyond STUNNING! They are better than the ones upstairs and not just because they're new! The mirrors are perfect! I would absolutely work with King David Gallery again in a heartbeat!

No wonder Wade Maxx has been on the Upper West Side for 25 years and still standing!…read more A dear friend gave me a good-sized and bright colored painting auctioned from Christie's. The spot where it sits most appropriately in my place is near almost floor to ceiling windows where it may be susceptible to sun damage. I read from various research sources that one solution could be to spray UV protection on the painting itself. When I asked various frame shops on the Upper West Side quotes for doing the spraying work - all they asked were the dimensions of the painting and said they'll charge by surface size covered. When I walked into Wade Maxx, I was at first shocked that they "didn't want my business"!!! The obvious art lover and expert of a consultant immediately advised me against using drastic measures such as spraying UV protection - which could damage the integrity of the painting and the canvas it sits on, he warned - and shared other methods of maintaining the quality of the painting instead, which would cost me nothing (but Wade Maxx's own cash receipts for this potential transaction). Needless to say, anytime since then that I've needed custom framing or been looking for art to buy or just general advice on artwork collection and maintenance, I've gone back to Wade Maxx! And, I'm happy to tell all my friends - you can't beat the integrity, knowledge and goodwill of these guys.

Not by their work, since I didn't actually have any work done, but with simple communication and professionalism. I stopped by in person in the summer of 2013 to ask if a small section of porcelain from a brass bed frame could be repaired. Anatoly said it would be difficult... especially since I did want to spend a lot.. but he said he would look into it and get back to me. I never heard from Anatoly once. I called him about 4 times over 7 months and he said there was no update. Whne I called to see if there was any update good or bad he said 'Try me again in a month or so'. That was it. Now some 7 months later without a single call to say 'Hey I can't help you' or a 'No luck but I'm still trying' I called him and got the usual 'I don't have anything for you' I told him how disappointed that I never recieved a single call or update even if it was to say he couldn't help. And I told him to keep the piece. I don't know if his lack of professionalism or common decency as a business owner was due to my project not being a lucrative piece for him. Or perhaps his workload being such that he didn't have a spare minute or two to update a customer... all I can say is, despite being my being very friendly and checking in with him, I felt ignored and unimportant.
