I want to leave a great review! I do! This place has been a Utah County icon for decades…read more But, here's what happened: I'm getting married. I need a tux. I'm short. Not Warwick Davis short. Let's say Bruno Mars short. Kevin Hart short. Sammy Davis, Jr. short. You know, short, but workable short. I walked into the American Fork Allen's Tuxedo on a Saturday morning and the associate took one look at me and said they wouldn't have anything that would work for me. So I said nothing? Let's pretend I'm a kid going to prom. You don't work with short kids? They didn't have anything. I asked well what if I bought a tux and could have it altered? They don't do that, and even if they did it would be expensive. Well expense isn't really an issue here. I'm sorry sir. I wish I could help you but I can't. Folks, I was floored! I'm going to chalk it all up to this particular associate just having a bad day, because wow! I'm going to say if you are normal size you won't have a problem here. My situation is unique. But look, I'm certain they COULD have worked with me. They chose not to. Men's Wearhouse had no problems with me and everything went fine with them. Short yes. Unique situation yes. But this was just plain awful customer service. It wasn't handled well. So there it is. Take it as you will. Maybe you won't run into this associate. Maybe you will. If you do you must be THIS tall to ride the ride. In a final irony, the associate was shorter than me.

There's a large area where you can see people working and then a separate one with a changing room. You change into what you want altered and then they'll come and assess what needs to be done. They're pretty upfront with prices and you can opt-in/out of stuff. Service: So sweet and friendly. I came in with a large bridesmaid dress and they were truthful about telling me to get a new one as even with alterations, it wouldn't look as good. Value: Standard pricing as far as alteration places go. They do guarantee a 1 week turn around basically no matter what which is nice. Overall, would use again.

This place is run by teenagers and a manager named Tammi who makes their mistakes your problem to…read moreclean up. I dropped off two of my husband's white dress shirts Thursday at 11:30am as a rush. The ticket says ready Friday at 5, and they said they'd call if anything was delayed. Nobody called. I went in at 5:15 and the girl at the counter told me Monday. I told her we had a gala and a funeral this weekend and needed them back ASAP. The best she could offer was having them back at this location Saturday at noon, still dirty. I asked to speak with the owner, and they got Tammi on the phone instead. I had to repeat everything from the beginning, as if the staff hadn't briefed her at all. She called it a miscommunication, said this happens maybe a couple times a year, and kept saying they're human and make mistakes. I get that, mistakes happen. The problem is how she handled it. Like dropping a flaming bag of garbage in my lap. She kept deflecting responsibility and talked over me the whole time, telling me to "be quiet and just listen." I told her more than once these shirts were for a close friend's funeral on Sunday, and she kept lecturing me about how yesterday is gone, tomorrow isn't promised, and all we have is now. Great timing to get philosophical. At the very end of the call, I asked what the "miscommunication" was, since it was a rush order with the deadline printed right on the ticket. That's when she admitted someone never put the shirts on the truck the day before, so they only went out to their Sandy location 15 minutes before I walked in. After 45 minutes at that counter, nobody had offered a credit or anything to earn back our trust. Nobody even said, "We wish we could get them back to you tonight." So I told them my husband would drive to Sandy that night and pick them up himself. He brought them home, still dirty. This is no way to run a business.
