One of the fun things about thrift stores is that you never know what you're going to get. Forrest…read moreGump would have a hay day! This one fits the bill and has all the categories that you'd expect: clothing, household goods, knick-knacks, toys, craft supplies, books and more. I feel like I've stepped back in time when I go in here-not only because the inventory is definitely vintage, but the prices are what I would have seen back 20 years ago. Seriously, some other thrift stores I've been to could take a lesson on pricing. I didn't find any treasures that I just HAD to have, but I did enjoy browsing for 20 minutes or so, imagining the life many of these objects had prior to ending up on the shelves of this store.

When I think of a word that comes to mind when I think of Time & Again, it's INEXPENSIVE. Yes, you…read moreexpect a thrift store to be cheap, but these are great prices for some excellent collectibles, clothes, and knick-knacks. First and foremost, however, it's a great place for locals on a budget to find clothes and accessories: Shirts, pants, blouses, hoodies, coats, ties, hats, sunglasses, purses, costume jewelry, and the rest. And BOOKS, my Lord, so many books ... fiction, how-to, cooking, religious, history, and a whole shelf just for kids. And then all the random stuff you love in a thrift store/boutique: Housewares, one-of-a-kind collectibles (big on figurines), as well as plenty of sewing gear. And great customer service from owner Robin Anderson ... and her cat as well! This place has the perfect name: You'll love this place the first TIME you go, and will love it AGAIN and again!

I don't know how many times I've driven by here on my way to some central or southern Utah…read moreadventure, and wanted to stop. Why didn't I? I dunno... the thrill of the adventure ahead? Leaving SLC a little late and not having time? Finally, I took the time to pull over on my way through Scipio and wake a walk around. On the outside, you have weathered items, and some of the less lustrous and shiny stuff like old 7up bottles. We stepped inside, and the familiar scene unfolded: stuff. Beautiful, old, interesting, storied stuff. We pawed over it, still in a rush, and chose a few old postcards -- a particular weakness of mine. There's a large homage to old linens and quilts here, and other than that, I can't say that there's any theme to the curation of vintage and antique items. Toys, house goods, some kitchen stuff, and all kinds of collectibles. You really just have to see it and look it all over yourself, and obviously get something new to you to love and house. Here's the part that won me over: we selected the postcards, and were told by the wife that the husband would take care of us if we wanted to buy something. We knocked on the door in the back and he invited us in to his personal residence that sits just beyond that door. We sat and talked while he peeled potatoes; apparently there was a big dinner that night and he was tasked with peeling. We paid him, tried to leave the change, and he insisted on giving us back our change instead. It wasn't just "like" being invited in to someone's home to look at their stuff and chat, it was "exactly" that. True road trip magic.

Many of their treasures are of the knick-knack variety (old toys, antique tools, etc.), but they do have a section with furniture, paintings, textiles. Things are priced generally reasonably. When they're not in the store, they have items in front of their shop and on their lawn that you pay for on an honor system-- just slip the money into the mailbox and you're done. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
