Was told this was a must go visit place in Chicago and my family and I thought it was worth it.

My personal favorite Chicago deep dish establishment! I eat any Giordano's any time I can in Chicago. The one in St . Charles is in a shopping center but still brings all the taste and nostalgia of the original. Don't be fooled my the outside. My favorite is to order extra garlic, to die for. The staff is friendly and the only thing I would change is add more beer choices on tap at this location.

This is a great pizza place to try deep dish pizza, one of the icons of Chicago. I ordered the spinach deep dish as well as the cheesy garlic bread. This was a great appetizer and main course combo! I would definitely recommend stopping by and the pricing is pretty reasonable for deep dish. The only issue we had was timing and that we had to go check to get a waiter after being seated.

Pizza

Deep dish tasted freezer burnt. Thin crust was thick and also freezer burnt. Delivery 20 minutes late. Used promo code for Pepsi products, paid money and didn't get Pepsi products and charged extra. Only reason giving 3 star because in the past Giordano has been great. Not this time. Sad.

Deep dish pizza with pepperoni, bacon, sausage, ham. Fantastic.

If you're looking for THE place for Chicago style deep dish pizza, in St. Charles, look no further than Giordano's on Main. Terrific crispy, crunchy crust, zesty sauce, perfect balance of toppings/ fillings. And the atmosphere is a lovely place to hang out while you wait for your fresh pizza to be made. The house salad with lemon vinaigrette was also killer. Order one salad for four people to share. 2-3 people can share a small deep dish pizza. It's huge. Service was friendly and quick, too.

We were visiting over the holidays and they brought plates/napkins/utensils along with the best Chicago deep dish pizza I've ever had!

And quickly seated at our favorite Table....we have had so many wonderful memories and special moments at this Table in the corner! My parents loved this place and because of that shared it with generations. We recently lost them both. My Daughter had a wonderful idea to come and sit, dine and reminisce and remember, celebrate and cherish all the times together at the Book House Cafe. Thank you for the memories! We look forward to making many many more. 4 generations of Memories Cherished! About the food! It's amazing! Delicious and Very thoughtfully served! There was an eclectic blend of choices but they didn't have two titles I was seeking, and the clerk seemed slightly annoyed when I inquired. The restaurant, though small, was more accessible, and had some great food! I had the roast pork apple sandwich and my friend got the signature salad, and we split the bourbon pecan pie, all of which were delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive even though it was busy, and other servers also kept an eye on bussing empty plates from our table. Parking is across the street; both crosswalks had steps leading down from the parking lot. Would certainly return for the cafe!

They have always* struggled with CONSISTENCY issues ever since they started (I've had raw chicken multiple times from them, now it's all burnt/dry), but it's more and more apparent recently. The meats are not only overcooked and EXTREMELY DRY, but the burnt exterior is a genuine *carcinogenic* (fact-check me) issue that leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth that is worse than sand IMO. The gyro meat is more grainy and un-chewable lately. The chicken is overcooked and dry as heck. The rice is undercooked and almost hard. The salads are less fresh, and I notice a distinct difference in the olives lately (more bitter and mushy, YUCK- I love good Kalamata olives, but NO thank you). I genuinely write this in a probably naive attempt to warn Kabobs that they are cutting too many corners that will probably, eventually, bite them. I would be very sad if that happened. I used to love Just Kabobs-- I've had great gyro and chicken and salad, etc, so I KNOW FROM THE PAST that they can do better. The main problem now* is that they are SUPER busy and they probably don't care about quality control because the money is rolling in, but I hope they will reverse course and get better quality ASAP. (PS; at their peak they are capable of 5/5 stars.-- I just feel that the quality has significantly* declined lately and it's sad to see, and waste money on. I couldn't stomach the burnt dry chicken kabobs I got last night and it's going to waste in my trashcan ).

St. Mary's Park and then Wheeler Park in Geneva. We wind up on Third Street and head toward the train station and always stop at our favorite little lunch place--Deane's Market & Deli. Start off with the tomato basil soup--SO good! Then we'll often split a sandwich, such as the roast beef (with any number of variations for cheese, bread, sauce). There's a nice case of drinks--sodas, teas, lemonade, water--from which to choose, as well as little bags of kettle cooked chips, also with several varieties. You order at the counter, take a seat (but be forewarned, it can get busy), and then some young person will come by with a tray of your food. While you wait, you can peruse the super cute kitchen items for sale, including seasonal tschotches, dishes, bowls, bottles, linens--you never know quite what you'll find, but we often can't resist one thing or another. Anyway, sated and fortified, we head back across the river using the double bridge (pedestrian below, railroad above), through Island Park and then back home. It's our weekend ritual and we love it. (The only reason I give it four stars is because the prices are a bit high, IMHO. I had half a grilled cheese sandwich the other day for more than $7.)
