We have eaten at several Giordano's locations before in many states. We stopped here for an easy lunch on our way into Chicago. Our waiter stared at his tablet the entire time we ordered. Then he argued with us about our food allergies, brought us the wrong drinks, forgot our refills, and brought us the "Special" loaded pizza (containing mushrooms which one of us is allergic to) while we asked for a simple pepperoni pizza. We talked to Michael Liden, the restaurant manager and he was so helpful. We let him know our concerns and he agreed that this was a good opportunity to use as a learning experience for our server in communication and customer service. He also took the pizza off of our bill even though we weren't looking for that outcome. If looking past the hassles of our server, Mike made our meal much better and took care of us for the rest of our lunch. The food was good and hot, as expected. read more

last night at the bar was interesting . The bartender was late getting to me therefore bought me a beer on her.. which hopefully she rang in to be comped off . She then began explaining to me that she didn't care because tomorrow was her last day... She also decided to share her hatred for Giordano's with a few more guests at the bar. The food was spectacular. Bruschetta was tasty as was the deep dish as expected.But the service was soooo bad that I will probably never go back to a Giordano's again. Either the company and or management team does not treat their associates well or the management team made a poor decision keeping this bartender on the team after she had given her notice... I'm sure your pour cost has gone up since she has given her notice as well. Every manager knows when a bartender puts in their notice free drinks start being given out then friends start visiting them and more drinks start going out for free THEN lack of service starts to begin and this is a prime example of that. read more

Moved here in Schaumburg not too long ago, and I am disappointed that I have not yet one good experience when it comes to customer service at any restaurant I've visited in the area. Placed my order online for one small pizza, pulled up and went inside to pay. The two women working were confused on which Brittany I was even though I clarified with my last name. One woman instructed me to move my car to spot 3 and they will bring the pizza out to me. Moved my car, waited almost 15 minutes and nothing was brought out to me. Went back inside and said I was picking up my pizza and they looked at me like a deer in headlights. This man with a neck brace told me I have to pay and told him I paid already and he proceeded to ask me what pizza I was given. I told him they did not give me a pizza as I was instructed to move my car and wait. Him and the two women were so confused and I don't understand what was so hard to understand.... The man then handed me my pizza rudely.. Did not receive a sorry, have a good night, or a bye. Checked my pizza and walked out. Food was good! As always, it takes about 45 minuets to an hour for your pizza to be ready. One of my daughters got spaghetti, the waiter boxed up before she was done eating. She's a child they tend to eat a little slow. read more

**FIVE STARS FOR PABLO THE CASHIER ONLY** I had three issues today. I initially tried to get a delivery using a gift card through the website, only to find (1) the website does not allow use of gift cards, which is particularly annoying in these pandemic times. So, I called this location and got Pablo the Cashier. Pablo was very patient with me. He took down the long gift card number and was very patient with me when there were pauses on the phone. When I gave him my address, we found that it was (2) outside the delivery zone for that location but he went to check if there were possible other locations to get delivery from. I had a pleasant summertime drive to this location to meet Pablo for my pizza. I was very guilty about having to take up the phone line and his patience for such a long order over the phone, so when I received the pizza I (stupidly) asked if I could charge an extra tip to my card for his service. Pablo was very humble and said "thank you, but I already closed the order, it's okay." I felt very sorry I did not have any cash on hand because he deserves a pat on the back for his professionalism! So someone please tip him for me. Also, issue (3) was the fact that the Super Veggie pizza had broccoli on it. I should have known prior to ordering but I was disgusting and possibly evil. First time at this place. When we got there (just a few mins past 5pm), we were seated right away, but that's where the service ends. Drinks were slow, after about 10 mins that was fixed. Order was taken quickly,-we ordered an app (cheese bread, which was wonderful), a salad, a kids meal, a pasta dish, and a deep dish pizza. The menu says right on it that the pizza will probably take 30-45 mins.-no problem, we weren't in a big hurry, although we did have some plans later. The app came out right away with the salad. Both were good. A short time later, the kids meal and the pasta came out. Great! Because honestly no one wants to listen to your kids complain that they're hungry while you're waiting for the adults pizza. So they get their food and everything's fine-this is probably now 25 mins total after we sat down... The waitress came by and then said "sorry, it's going to be like 10 more mins for the pizza" No problem! We had planned on waiting a little extra, the kids are eating and happy, it's fine! 30 mins later, she comes by and says the same thing. A while later, the same thing! Fast forward to right at 2 hours after we first sat down. Food is being cut and ready. Another 10 mins later and the pizza is finally here! Honestly, it was good pizza, but the fact that by the waitresses account, the manager knew that the kitchen was a mess and food was coming out late and didn't ever bother to come to our table and speak to us about the lengthy delay. We had to eat quickly because our kids who were very patient for so long weren't taking it anymore. After all of this, we just made it back to our hotel 5 mins away and it's now 8:05-so 3 hours for dinner, while the waitress did apologize, it really wasn't enough at this point. Bottom line, if you have 3 hours for dinner-do it, the food was good. But if you're a normal person who keeps normal dinner hours, skip this one.-no pizza on the planet is worth this wait! (Or at the end of the day the $85.00 bill!) **This business did reach out after the review. I did email as the person instructed, however, the email I got back basically just said feel free to call me tomorrow and tell me what happened if you want. Well, I feel like my review is pretty clear as to what happened and I don't feel like taking up anymore of my time is going to fix anything. My review stands only this time, I'd like to offer some advice that after having been in the restaurant business for MANY years myself in many different capacities, from wait staff all the way up to ownership, I can say with 100% certainty.- You need to find yourself better management. read more

If you want true Giordanos's experience, visit the original restaurant downtown. This Schaumburg location is a tourist mill. Country music was playing (not Italian), the restaurant was dirty, the music in the restrooms was way too loud, the PIZZA WAS COLD in some spots and warm in others, the CRUST was not crispy on the outside and not chewy on the inside, the CRUST lacked flavor, the SAUCE was ok - unremarkable, very few pepperoni for the price. Just overall blah. Uno's crust is still No.1 imo. Buttery, flaky, crispy and chewy. Hits all the right flavor notes and textures. read more

Don't waste your time. Horrible service and Management. Extremely disappointed. Ordered a thin crust pizza and after 40 minutes of waiting was told the kitchen misplaced our ticket and we would have to wait another 20 minutes. All they offered to do was take some money off our bill. Oh and the waiter said the only reason he went to check on our pizza is because "we were looking at him". It was his job to make sure we got our 20 minute pizza in 20 minutes, not wait 40 minutes and only check on it because we were looking at him. Mind you it's been another 30 minutes and we are still waiting for the 20 minute pizza we ordered 70 minutes ago. Don't waste your time. This was good. We got some deep dish pizza after a soccer game and it was perfect! Super cheesy and good! Took a little while but it was 100% worth it. We have heard a lot about Giordano's. While my family and I were spending a few days in Chicago to hang out, we were excited to try Giordano's. Unfortunately we left less than thrilled. The service was subpar, even late on a Sunday evening with 6 inches of snow on the ground. The pizza crust was incredibly dry and not much taste. Great pizza! Great atmosphere, great service! Our pizza was awesome, my kids ordered the thin crust, they loved it. Our deep dish was tasty, the cheese was great, the sausage was flavorful, and the pepperoni was excellent. For me, another great detail was the sauce on the top was smooth. No big chunks of tomatoes. I was here for the soft opening of this new Giordano's location. I think the management should be happy with the staff, because openings do not always go this well. The building looks great! It is fairly large and there is a separate area for pickups. There is a full bar and the seating area is large, with a lot of booths. When I arrived there was a wait for a table. They said they would text me when the table was ready. Although I thought this was a great idea, for some reason, I had a feeling that it would not work. I told the hostess I was going to be at the bar and someone came and got me. Apparently, there is an issue with my cell phone provider. Since relying on my intuition is a mixed bag, maybe they should've mentioned that, but, it turned out fine. The bartender was very friendly and the service at the bar was good. The table wasn't the best, but I can talk to my friend anywhere, and it was busy. The service was very good, and the food came out on time. I noticed the time they quoted for a deep dish pizza was 45 minutes, which is 15 longer than at the BG location, but at least they were upfront about it when we ordered. We had the bruschetta, which was pretty decent, and a deep dish pizza. The pizza was just what I expected and It is my favourite pizza in Chicago, so that is a good thing. The manager stopped by our table to see if everything was OK, and to thank us for coming out. I was very happy I tried this place and I would definitely return. The only other Giordano's building I've been in that was as nice as this location was downtown. (They just need to get that text problem worked out.). :) read more

I simply had an awful experience at this establishment all around - which has never occurred at a Giordano's restaurant anywhere that I have frequented in the past. Two staff members were quite rude to my party, the service was abysmally slow and inattentive and what was up with the deep dish pizza?! Soggy, cold in parts and far less than other what you would receive at other Giordano's, from downtown Chicago to Indiana. Personally, I've never had deep dish this bad - even cheap, frozen varieties from a store. Calling it "Giordanos" at present is false advertising in my opinion. read more

I was on hold for 20 plus minutes trying to order delivery. I called from a second phone and got through right away (while the first phone was still on hold) but by this time they had stopped delivering. Spoke to the manager, Jim, who said I can pick up an order with no remorse for the time I waited on hold (terrible customer service). I asked for a discount. Jim said sure then placed me on hold to place the order with another worker. Why wouldn't he just take my order as a courtesy? When I placed the order the worker had no clue about the discount. She advised me to say something about it when I came in. I had to hold to speak to Jim, the manager again, to ensure the discount. They never gave me a time as to when to come pick it up (when it would be done). Their excuse was it was a crazy night. Next time I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Giordanos used to be my favorite deep dish pizza chain. This one does not reach the standards of the other ones. I can honestly say this is the worst one I've ever been to and the worst deep dish pizza I've ever had. The taste was ok. I ordered half sausage and half veggie. 1/2 of the veggie side had sausage on it mixed with the veggie. The worst part was the shallow pizza that they gave us. This $30 pizza was as thick as a a dominos pizza. It was truly sad and disappointing. They cheaped out on ALL the ingredients. I guess Lou's is my new spot. read more

Can't go to Chicago area and not eat deep dish pizza!! My wife and I walked into this Giordano's restaurant on a Friday night at 7:30pm, fully expecting to wait a while to be seated. No wait, we were seated immediately. The place was busy, too! We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer and a small stuffed pizza with sausage, black olives, green pepper, and tomatoes. The bruschetta came out almost immediately and was very tasty. The pizza took a long time, but the menu warned of a 45 minute wait for the stuffed pizzas. It was well worth the wait as the pizza was excellent!! A small was more than enough for the two of us and we brought half of the pizza back to our hotel. There is another Chicago pizza joint that I believe has better deep dish pizza. Even so, Giordano's was an excellent choice and I'd recommend it to anyone!! read more

This review is for a delivery order. I placed an order for delivery today, it was supposed to arrive between 7:34pm to 7:44pm. I received a call from them at 8:19pm telling me the pizza was running late. I said it was ok and ask what was the new delivery time. The lady said my order was about to leave the building and should expect it within 20 min. I understand, it's Saturday, they are probably busy. But at 9pm the pizza still had not arrived so I decided to call them. After 10 min that they had me on hold, a lady finally pick it up and said that they didn't have my order, that they were going to start making it and send it to me. I replied to please cancel the order. I will not order from this place again, at least for delivery. I understand that they might be busy but that type of management is unacceptable. How is it that I received a call telling me that my order was running late and 40 minutes later tell me that they didn't receive my order. Their pizza is great and I love it, who doesn't? But while a give their pizza 5* out of 5*, their delivery and way of handling delivery issues are poorly managed. read more

10 years ago this was my favorite pizza place in Chicago. The chain expansion is reflecting in the pizza. The sauce isn't as "homemade" tasting. The "toppings" aren't as "wow" as I remember. It's a shame because I loved crowding in with the others in the downtown location and enjoying something that was truly a "Chicago pizza experience". Still an ok pizza.
