About a 1-1.5: Not sure what happened, but Giordano's has been really missing the mark the past few times we've ordered the pizza here. This place has always been our go-to for deep dish, but the past few experiences made us realize that we need to find a replacement, stat! We came here for an earlier dinner, and we ordered: +the Giordano's Sampler - this came with boneless chicken nuggets, mozzarella triangles, and cheesy garlic bread; instead of choosing between the two, both the Buffalo and the BBQ sauce came with for dipping; the chicken nuggets were okay, and the mozzarella triangles were fine; the cheesy garlic bread had a weird green tinge to it - I thought it was just overly burnt bread and the lighting, but something strange was going on with this item; it just did not taste good, and the cheese tasted like toilet water! +a Fresh Spinach deep dish - the pizza seemed to not have come out piping out - it had the string pull, but the pizza was lukewarm as best, and it does get cold quickly, regardless of how quickly you eat your slice; the cheese could have been more melty Service was friendly, and we were checked in constantly throughout; it was to the point where it's like, come on, let us enjoy catching up. We felt as they were trying to turn over the table, but it wasn't a busy night. The booth seating is also extremely tight; the seating are movable, and I feel as if they try to pack as much of these in this part of the dining area and the normal chair-and-table would have been more comfortable. No dice, Giordano's - don't think I'll be visiting you anymore during my Chicago visits! +avoid the sampler +pizza is not piping hot +pressured service +plenty of parking in the private lot

I've been coming here for years and I've always had a great experience! The food is always delicious, the staff are super friendly, and the restaurant is always clean! My favorite is coming during lunchtime and getting their lunch combo!

What happened to Giordanos?? Best ever pizza?? Typically, if I wanted Giordanos, I would try the downtown or Rosemont location which have always been consistently delicious. Honestly, I prefer authentic Chicago tavern style pizza from old school pizza places downtown. Sadly, I was in the suburbs but still happy when I saw Giordanos. And due to a keto healthy kick, I do not have pizza often. When I do, I savor it. This particular day, my keto diet didn't suffer. The pizza was awful. I know, is any pizza bad? Usually I would say no. But honestly it wasn't edible. It was truly the worst pizza I have ever had. I feel a little ripped off even. Like taking money and just throwing it away. Which in this economy isn't ideal. Anyway, go to a different location or a different place all together. Or try it and report back- maybe it was an off day. You will see from the photos it looks like they ran out of ingredients. The cheese is usually the best part. Not this time. Sparse cheese on a cheese pizza. Sauce only in the middle towards one side. And I did order the Caesar side salad, always crunchy romaine- this salad was iceberg. A small container off cut up iceberg lettuce- sans the usually amazing parm.

I have been eating here for well over 40 years, so its about time to review. 5 stars consistantly, I highly recommend. I have never had a bad experience. I have to say, when ordering online, it never seems to be correct. I've ordered stuffed with half cheese and half mushroom, onion, green pepper and it always seems to be full toppings on the whole thing not half cheese. Whenever this happened, I spoke to management and they were always accommodating and made it right. I now only order on the phone. I've gotten only their pizzas and calamari. I always get, and prefer their stuffed pizza over all, but their thin and extra thin are good also. Cheesy, delicious, goodness consistantly. Calamari was also good, but I wish they had half orders. Thanks Giordanos for the 100 % goodness.

COVID-19 UPDATED 5/13/21 Only 6 people to a table at a time...You can sit 2 tables of 6 together but with a 3 foot gap between tables. Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes are given in packet form per request. No paper menus, only digital menus. Had the Chicago Special Deep Dish and Thin Crust, and they were both amazing! Also had calamari and a Caesar salad which fed 8 of us with 2 slices of deep dish and 10 slices of thin crust left over.

Sometimes when you bookmark a restaurant your expectations are sky high and sometimes they don't live up to your own delusional expectations. This was not the case w/Pasta D'Arte Trattoria. We absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The restaurant itself has a very nice ambiance w/a wine rack at the entrance. The restaurant itself has exposed brick walls mixed w/wood panels that have a nice rustic feel. Very nice relaxing ambiance w/an awesome, helpful friendly staff. During our meal they played easy listening like Frank Sinatra tunes. Ahhh but the reason for coming the food. When we came in Carlos our server brought us 2 glasses of champagne for our anniversary, very nice. We had bread on the table w/olive oil & Parmesan cheese. We ordered some fried calamari as our appetizers w/a delicious red sauce sprinkled w/red pepper flakes for a little spice. My wife ordered the Sacchetti Al Porcini which was delicious w/porcini & ricotta stuffed pasta sacks served in a butternut/parmesan sauce w/sautéed mushrooms, leeks & butternut squash. Absolutely delicious!!! I ordered the Lasagna Bolognese Carlos & his partner (her name started w/an M?). I'm sorry I can't remember both provided excellent service & made the whole evening very enjoyable. Thanks to both of you & the staff @ Pasta D'Arte for an excellent evening.

Service was not great as we had to ask for the waitress twice to order and to get water and bread refills. Still the waitress knew the menu and specials well and was professional. We got complimentary water, warm bread, olive oil and grated parmesan cheese (probably from a food service as it sat on the table in a ramekin). We shared a glass of house Chianti and fried calamari. I got Tagliolini Neri Fra Diavola and she got Fettucine alla Panna. The wine tasted cheap, calamari was mediocre and the pastas were good, but far from excellent; better than Olive Garden but comparable to Romano's Macaroni Grill. For the prices it should have been much better. The dining room where we sat was clean and attractive but getting worn. The men's room about the same as the dining room. All in all it was a pleasant evening but not the quality experience that other reviews suggested. The restaurant is clearly resting on their reputation and needs a big refresh. For 1 glass of house wine, a shared appetizer and 2 pastas plus tax and tip we spent $140. It was worth about half of that.

There's a full bar and lots of wine options. I highly recommend dining here. The food is fantastic, seasoned very well and the perfect temperature and texture. Found out it's Italian, so based on positive reviews, my wife and I went there early last night. To start they bring out a warm mini-loaf of crusty bread with a small serving of garlicky olive tapenade -- we knew right away we were gonna enjoy this place. The Bella salad had a huge amount of arugula, pear, figs and goat cheese, enough for two. My wife had a special: spinach stuffed ravioli, with a paper thin dough -- very light and buttery. I had the tasty vermicelli amatriciana -- a huge serving, the leftovers was my lunch today. What's interesting was the waitstaff tag-teamed us: Everyone could do everything from take our orders to bus dishes -- you could see they were pros, had worked together for a long time. The only negative (which I will not deduct a star for): There were two huge TV's playing with their sound off -- this did not add anything, were rather distracting. But the food and service won us over -- we will be back.

I was trying to find a place at least midway between us and discovered Carlos and Carlos on Yelp. Carlos and Carlos is old school from the perspective you actually have to call the restaurant to make a reservation. The space itself is located in what I think is a condo building. The space itself is compact, with tables relatively close together. We ended up sitting at table next to the kitchen door, which for me turned out not to be too bad as we were not sitting on top of other folks. The restaurant and bar were packed as it was a Saturday. Based on the size of the space and number of tables, I would strongly suggest making a reservation if you go there. We started out with fresh bread and one of their specials for the night: flash fried calamari served w/fresh tomatoes, pepperoncini peppers, shaved garlic, black olives, capers & garlic butter. This was a first for me as I have never had calamari served this way and it was great. Definitely a dish I would drive back to get. The bread was wonderful and hot. I could see through the kitchen as fresh bread was being pulled out of either a warmer or oven, not sure. It was served with some sort of olive oil and pesto, I think. It made for a lovely spread on the bread. For dinner I ordered a dish called "Meatballs" and it was just that, a whole lotta meatballs with some spaghetti thrown in as a side...HAHAHA! Not complaining, just staying a fact. The meatballs and pasta were good, but I would say there was a fair amount of garlic in the dish. I had my dish as a leftover and as I was warming it up, The Doctor commented that he could smell the garlic. The Doctor had the Pollo Vesuvio, which also came with pasta. I had a small piece and it was pretty nice. Again there was more meat than pasta, but again we were not complaining. The chicken was nice and tender and had a lovely flavor to it. My GF got the Risotto Al Fungi (Arborio served with wild mushrooms & goat cheese). Prior to sampling her dish, I would have absolutely stated that this was a dish I would not order in a restaurant as I wouldn't have any interest in it. I tried a spoonful of my GF's and was amazed at how good it was! The broth that the risotto was cooked in was chicken and I think beef. That with the goat cheese made this a very nice dish and the second reason I would drive here to do a repeat visit for dinner. Portion sizes were nice as The Doctor and I had plenty to eat and enough for light snack the next day. My GF had no leftovers, she became a member of the clean plate club. For dessert we shared a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, which was really nice. It had a lovely dark flavor to it and was creamy in texture. Service was nice and everyone was friendly. There is plenty of street parking within walking distance as well. While this is a bit of a drive for us to get to since it is outside of the city, I could see coming back here. I think I want to try a serving of that risotto on my own instead of a taste.

It's super cute and cozy on the inside- there isn't much seating, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. It's neither too loud nor too quiet, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. My friend and I stopped by for restaurant week, and for 3 courses at $40 it was a great deal! For drinks, we started with the Queen Bee and Flying High. I absolutely loved the first- the ginger was super unique and very crisp. There was complimentary homemade focaccia and white bean dip to start, which was both a huge bonus and possibly the best bread I've had in a minute! The bean dip especially was so flavorful and unique. We split the carciofo (artichokes in lemon butter) and meatballs with polenta to start. The artichokes were bright and not too heavy. I think the meatballs could've had a little more flavor, but they were tender and the polenta was very smooth and creamy. For mains, we split the chicken parmigiano and rigatoni alla buttera. The chicken was ultra crispy and the marinara was exceptionally flavorful. The rigatoni was rich and meaty with very tender sausage. We really enjoyed both and had a ton of leftovers. We ended with the tiramisu, and I've never had one so light and creamy yet rich. Already looking forward to returning and can't recommend Regalia highly enough!

Regalia is a must visit restaurant whenever you're in Edgewater!…read more Regalia has managed to blend the vibe of a small neighborhood restaurant with high end cuisine. This is the perfect date night spot. I highly recommend making a reservation because Regalia is typically busy. During the warmer months they have outdoor dining so the restaurant is even busier. They typically reserve the bar area for walk-ins but it's not promised you won't have to wait to get seated. My go-to dish is the Chicken Parmigiano but I recently had the Rigatoni alla Buttera and it has become my new favorite dish. I've also been able to try the Rigatoni Ragu Alla Rustico and it's also delicious. Truly you cannot go wrong with any of the dishes. The food is priced similarly to other Italian restaurants in the area. The dishes are large so you could easily get two meals from your order. The thing I love the most about Regalia is that the food is consistently good. It's hard to find a place that invests in quality food and creating an atmosphere. The manager / owner will periodically walk around the restaurant and check-in with customers to see how everything is going. The one con is Regalia tries to optimize their space so the tables are tightly packed into the restaurant. It sometimes feels like you're dining with the table next to you because the tables are so close. If you're someone that needs to use the restaurant frequently don't sit in the inner chair because you almost have to shift your table over to get through. Overall, I love visiting Regalia!
